CALGARY -- A tumultuous day for the Calgary Flames off the ice Thursday had a
happy ending thanks to Chris Butler.
http://www.manchesterunitedproshop.uk/timothy-fosu-mensah-man-utd-jersey.html
. Butlers second goal of the year with four seconds left in overtime gave
Calgary a 2-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. Paul Byron entered the
Carolina zone then curled back towards the blue-line before sending a pass
across to Butler, who flung a 50-foot wrist shot past a partially screened
Justin Peters. "Paul did a great job, having great patience hanging onto the
puck and I just tried to be available there and really just throw a muffin on
net," said Butler. Peters said when Mikael Backlund crossed in front of him, he
lost track of the puck. "Just a mental lapse on my part. He went right through
the line of the puck. Ive got to do a better job of fighting to find it earlier,
especially with that much time left," said Peters. It was an eventful day in
Calgary. In the morning, president of hockey operations Brian Burke announced
the firing of general manager Jay Feaster and assistant GM John Weisbrod. "It
was a tough morning. Obviously its pretty surprising when Burkie comes down to
the locker-room and delivers that type of news," said Butler. "Jay has been such
a good guy to all of us here. Its tough to see a guy like that let go. Hes
pretty responsible for bringing a lot of guys in. We certainly wish him the best
and it was nice to get a win today." A key play in the game came with 5:25
remaining in the third period when Carolinas Jeff Skinner, who had just scored
to tie the game, was awarded a penalty shot after being hooked on a breakaway by
Ladislav Smid. Skinner tried to go five-hole again just like he did on his goal
but this time was denied by Karri Ramo. "Looking back, I would have done
something different," Skinner said. "I tried to open him up but he didnt really
bite on my fake. I probably shouldnt have forced it in there." It was one of 29
saves on the night for Ramo, who improved to 5-5-1. "Just trying to make the
save, be big, and not give him very much to shoot at. I wanted to give a chance
for our guys to win," Ramo said. Brian McGrattan, who scored the only goal of
the opening 40 minutes, said that save was the difference. "That was huge. That
probably won us the game right there. We came out after that save was made and
we were flying. You need saves like that to win games," said McGrattan. Calgary
(12-15-4) now heads out on a five-game Eastern road swing that begins Saturday
in Buffalo. Carolina (13-13-7) will look for its first win when it wraps up a
four-game road trip in Phoenix on Saturday. "A sour end to a great effort by our
team, thats for sure," said Peters, who falls to 6-8-2. "We played a solid game,
came out strong in the third, took the play to them a lot." The Flames took a
1-0 lead to the third period, but for the third game in a row couldnt hold it
with Skinner tying the game for Carolina at 11:10 on a 30-foot wrist shot that
trickled through Ramos pads. "We had chances, we just didnt capitalize and it
came back to bite us," said Carolina coach Kirk Muller. "I thought it was going
to be a low scoring game, tight. I was happy the way we stuck with it tonight."
Throughout the mornings press conference, Burke alluded to the Flames as being
too small, not tough enough and needing to play more hostile, or truculent as he
likes to describe it. Appropriately, it was the Flames most physical player,
McGrattan, who opened the scoring at 17:49 the first period after some hard work
by linemates Byron and Lance Bouma. "In a tight game, coach showing confidence
in us throwing us out more and more and more. I think if we do the things we did
in that shift, game in and game out, hell have the confidence to play us more,"
said McGrattan, whose goal was his first in 30 games dating back to last season.
McGrattan complimented the way the team played after the days events. "We
reacted the right way. A lot of things in the game that are out of your
control," he said. "You can only control the things that you do and thats how
hard you work and how good your attitude is. I think we regrouped today and got
a big win." Both teams welcomed back veteran forwards to their lineup. For the
Flames, Curtis Glencross (knee) returned after missing 15 games and TJ Galiardi
(back) drew back in after being sidelined for eight games. Carolina got
Alexander Semin (concussion) back after he missed 12 games. Notes: The
Hurricanes lost rookie Elias Lindholm early in the first period when he was hit
hard into the sideboards by Mark Giordano. He will be re-evaluated on Friday.
... Galiardi has gone 21 games without a goal. ... Carolina RW Patrick Dwyer
played his 300th NHL game. Backlund played in NHL game No. 200. ... The Flames
improve to 7-4-2 with Giordano in the line-up. ... In its last eight home games,
Calgary has given up a total of five goals over the first two periods and 14 in
the third period and overtime.

. Hartley missed two field goals in Sundays 27-16 loss at St. Louis, dropping
his conversion rate to a career-low 73.3 percent (22-for-30) this season. The
27-year-old joined the Saints in the middle of the 2008 campaign and his tenure
with the club was highlighted by three kicks of more than 40 yards during Super
Bowl XLIV, helping New Orleans beat the Indianapolis Colts.

. -- For a second consecutive game, the Portland Trail Blazers wiped out a poor
first-half performance with a big rally after the break. The Florida Panthers
finished with the second-worst record in the regular season, missing the
playoffs for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons. Its been a rough road, but
maybe things are looking up. After all, the Panthers did win the draft lottery.
Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Panthers club that has a mix of aging vets and
unproven young players, with very few in their prime years. That roster
composition is could force some difficult decisions upon the Panthers. Its one
thing to build around the likes of Aleksander Barkov, Nick Bjugstad and the
upcoming No. 1 pick, knowing that it will take a few years before they are
impact players in the league, but the Panthers best players right now are
35-year-old G Roberto Luongo and soon-to-be 35-year-old D Brian Campbell. If
they are going to be part of the Panthers success, that success likely has to
come very soon. "Were moving forward. Im going to fix it," GM Dale Tallon said
at seasons end. "Were going to add the pieces to help these kids get where they
need to be." The Panthers could be aggressive to make moves for immediate help,
feeling emboldened by the financial backing of new owner Vinnie Viola, but its
not easy to turn young players and prospects into players in their prime. The
long view might be to take that time and let those young players develop, but
with the Panthers making a big splash move to get Luongo, there ought to be some
sort of urgency to win in the near future. For a team that has made the playoffs
once in this century, maybe that urgency should have come sooner and it sounds
like Tallon is prepared to get to work this summer. "We have a lot of assets,"
Tallon told the Miami Herald. "We have a lot of kids who are in college, 10
picks next year, a lot in the system. Im open to any suggestions that make us
better quicker without jeopardizing our future." The TSN.ca Rating is an
efficiency rating based on per-game statistics including goals and assists --
weighted for strength (ie. power play, even, shorthanded) -- Corsi, adjusted for
zone starts, quality of competition and quality of teammates, hits, blocked
shots, penalty differential and faceoffs. Generally, a replacement-level player
is around a 60, a top six forward and top four defenceman will be around 70,
stars will be over 80 and MVP candidates could go over 90. Sidney Crosby

going into the last year of their respective contracts and while all may
contribute in some fashion, theyre all potential trade candidates due to their
expiring deals. Health has been an issue for veteran winger Sean Bergenheim, as
hes missed 19 or more games in five of the past six seasons, but he plays a
strong two-way game and generates enough shots that he can score a little bit
even if hes not a high-percentage finisher. Though hes never scored more than 17
goals in a season, Bergenheims 11.23 shots per 60 minutes (5-on-5) over the past
three seasons ranks sixth. He gets the puck to the net. Health has also been an
issue for winger Scottie Upshall, but he played 76 games in 2013-2014 -- the
second time in his career that hes played more than 75 games -- and finished
with a career-best 37 points. He tends to be a decent possession player and
plays a feisty game when he manages to stay in the lineup. Two seasons removed
from a career-high 27 goals and 61 points, winger Tomas Fleischmann endured a
brutal year in which he scored eight goals and 28 points in 80 games, his lowest
scoring totals since his 29-game rookie season of 2006-2007. Scoring on just
4.3% of his shots -- one-third the rate of his career average, 12.9% -- does
make Fleischmann a solid candidate for recovery this season, and since its the
last year on his contract, he may not be around long-term, even if he recaptures
his scoring touch. Coming off a shortened 2013 season in which he scored at
career-best rates (15 goals, 27 points in 47 games), Tomas Kopecky managed four
goals and a dozen points in 49 games last season. Even so, he was a solid
possession player and has versatility to move around the lineup as needed.
Towering centre Nick Bjugstad led the Panthers with 38 (!!) points and has
potential to be a very good two-way centre. He may not have the highest
offensive ceiling but, at 6-foot-6, could become a real handful at both ends of
the rink as he gets stronger. Veteran winger Brad Boyes topped 20 goals for the
first time since 2008-2009, earning a two-year contract extension, and his 18
even-strength goals tied him with Jeff Carter and Eric Staal, among others. The
32-year-old provides stability, but his 0.46 points per game was also the lowest
scoring rate of his career. The second overall pick in last years draft,
Aleksander Barkov was thrust into a prominent role for the Panthers -- one of
two forwards to play at least 17 minutes per game (minimum 25 games played) --
before suffering a knee injury at the Olympics that prematurely ended his
season. Before that point, though, Barkov impressed with his two-way game and
the 18-year-old holds promise as a bona fide No. 1 centre. The reigning Calder
Trophy winner, Jonathan Huberdeau, slumped in his second season, scoring only
nine goals and, more troubling, generating only 1.57 shots on goal per game. It
was a step back, to be sure, but Huberdeau is still just 20-years-old, so he
should be given an opportunity to bounce back and, along with Barkov and
Bjugstad, be part of the clubs core group of young forwards. Stuck on the
outside looking in when he was with Chicago, Brandon Pirri got a better
opportunity once arriving in Florida and was effective enough to warrant a spot.
With 101 points in 102 AHL games over the past two seasons, 23-year-old Pirri is
ready for the NHL, though getting stronger and improving his play without the
puck would improve his odds of not only sticking long-term, but being able to
contribute consistently. Another former Blackhawks prospect, 6-foot-6 winger
Jimmy Hayes, does have some touch offensively, but he is more dependent on
linemates to drive possession, so that could ultimately leave him in the
position of battling for a job as the Panthers roster matures. At the same time,
with veteran wingers that could be moving on soon enough, Hayes might have an
opportunity to be a 20-goal scorer if he can use his size effectively. It would
be reasonable enough for the Panthers to press forward with the group they have
at forward but, if they are going to harbour ideas about being immediately more
competitive, then paying for a scoring winger would really help. Even if Florida
may not be a premium free agent destination, they still might want to
investigate the possibility of adding the likes of Radim Vrbata, Mike Cammalleri
or Milan Michalek, players with some track record of production that could fit
in their top six. Returning Defence Player Rating GP G A PTS CF% Cap Hit

http://www.manchesterunitedproshop.uk/blank-jersey.html.
He puts up stellar possession stats, plays more than 27 minutes per game for the
Panthers and hasnt missed a game in three seasons since arriving in Florida. The
34-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract which should
actually make him a target for an enterprising team in win-now mode. The price
would likely be steep, but a team in need of a top-pair defenceman could at
least force the Panthers (and Campbell, since he has some say over his
destination) with an offer comprised of young talent . While 37-year-old
Ed Jovanovski made it the long way back from hip surgeries to play in 37 games,
perhaps not surprisingly, he wasnt terribly effective. Theres one year left of
his contract and Jovo would be a prime buyout candidate because the Panthers
would likely be better without him in their top six. Age catches up with all
athletes, but especially so in the case of those who suffer major injuries.
24-year-old Colby Robak has been a prospect, it seems, forever, and has played
35 games with the Panthers over the past three seasons. He was serviceable in 16
games in 2013-2014, good enough to figure that, with an economical one-way deal
for next season, that he is in a good position to have an NHL job when next
season begins. 23-year-old Dmitry Kulikov already has five years of NHL
experience and hes a legit top-four defenceman, though one that was
spectacularly unfortunate last season, finishing as a minus-26 despite pretty
much break-even possession numbers. Only Alexander Edler and Seth Jones had a
lower PDO (on-ice shooting plus save percentage) than Kulikovs 96.0. Its not
necessarily the optimal long-term approach, but its conceivable that an
attractive asset like Kulikov (whose name pops up in trade rumours
semi-regularly) could be moved in the summer, in an effort to upgrade the teams
offensive talent. There has been some progress with 22-year-old Erik Gudbranson,
the third overall pick in 2010, but its been gradual. In an ideal world, hed be
able to use his size and physical game in a shutdown defensive role, but
Gudbranson hasnt yet been trusted to take on the hard minutes defensively. Hes
young enough to hope that there is time to realize that upside. Another former
Blackhawk, Dylan Olsen, responded well to the opportunity presented to him in
Florida. Olsen didnt play big minutes, and his ice time decreased later in the
year, but it was a step forward for the 23-year-old and he was solid enough to
have a leg up on the competition for a regular spot on the blueline next year.
There are a couple of wildcards for the Florida defence. The first might as well
be the number one overall pick in the draft, which could be Barrie Colts D Aaron
Ekblad. Hed likely take some lumps as an 18-year-old -- they all do -- but
Ekblad would provide a long-term building block on the blueline. The other is
unrestricted free agent Tom Gilbert, who was salvaged off the scrap heap after
being bought out by Minnesota. Gilbert played more than 21 minutes a night on
the top pair with Campbell and was very effective in that role. After making
just $900,000 last season, though, Gilbert should be a due a sizeable pay
increase on an open market that tends to appreciate top-four calibre defencemen.
So, it would be great for the Panthers to keep the 31-year-old around for a few
more years, but they will have competition for his services. Returning

.919 save percentage ranks fourth (effectively tied for third with
Jaroslav Halak and Ryan Miller) among those with a starters workload and he
should be the backbone of this team for the next couple seasons, at the very
least. Upon acquiring Luongo, the Panthers jettisoned Tim Thomas to Dallas, in
exchange for Dan Ellis, who is still under contract for next season. Ellis had a
tough time immediately after the deal, posting an .836 save percentage in six
games with Florida, and the 33-year-old has a .905 career save percentage, which
isnt ideal, but hes a reasonably-priced backup option behind Luongo. Top

could be ready for the pro game if he chooses to leave Boston College after his
sophomore campaign. He needs to get stronger, but is a good skater who can move
the puck. The first pick of the second round last year, Ian McCoshen is another
defenceman for NCAA-finalist Boston College, though he brings a more physical
game than Matheson. Whenever the Golden Eagles duo makes the jump, the Panthers
will have a more capable blueline corps. Taken in the second round in 2010,
lanky blueliner Alex Petrovic is closer to making the Panthers roster, having
skated in 13 games over the past couple seasons. Hes a tough, physical blueliner
who has 30 points, a plus-4 rating and 181 penalty minutes in 103 AHL games. Its
entirely possible that Vincent Trocheck, a third-round pick in 2011, will open
next season with the Panthers. He had 42 points in 55 AHL games to earn a
promotion and while he posted a respectable eight points in 20 games with the
Panthers, the more encouraging sign from Trocheck was that he handled
significant ice time and put up solid possession stats. He doesnt have to start
next year in Florida, particularly if any veteran centres are added, but
Trocheck is going to play for the U.S. in the World Championships and should be
knocking on the door rather loudly. Tiny playmaker Rocco Grimaldi was a
second-round pick in 2011, and has 75 points in 82 games over the past two
seasons at North Dakota, but until he gets into the pro game, there will be
questions over whether the 5-foot-6 forward can produce at the highest level.
Only one way to find out the answer to those questions. Drew Shore has logged a
lot of NHL games, 67 over the past two seasons, to be considered a prospect, but
hes also played 93 AHL games in that time, so hes been on the fringe of the
roster. The thing is, he clearly deserves a better look, as hes been a very good
possession player in those 67 NHL games. There may be a ceiling on his offensive
production, but Shore is a big forward whose game is NHL-ready. A first-round
pick in 2010, Quinton Howden has played 34 NHL games over the past couple
seasons and hasnt produced much. Two years ago, he had great possession numbers,
but couldnt produce any points. This past season, he managed four goals and a
couple of assists, but had abysmal possession stats. As it is, hes probably just
on the outside looking in, depending on how many extrernal forward acquisitions
are made over the summer. A fourth-round pick last summer Michael Downing is a
physical defender with good size who had a fine first season at Michigan. Theres
no need to rush him, and there are others ahead of Downing in the pipeline, but
hes one to watch develop over the next few years. Kyle Rau is a tiny forward who
was a third-round pick in 2011 and played with Bjugstad at the University of
Minnesota. Rau has put up 123 points in 121 games for the Golden Gophers, so hes
going to warrant a look when his collegiate career ends. Like Grimaldi hell get
a chance to prove that he can overcome his lack of size. Its never easy to
project goaltenders, even those that have steadier collegiate track records than
Sam Brittain, but the fourth-round pick from 2010 was very good as a senior at
Denver, so now its time to see him at the pro level. A seventh-round pick in
2013, Mackenzie Weegar may not have the defensive game, but his ability to move
the puck and run the power play, should get him some consideration in the coming
years. Power forward Garrett Wilson, who played three games for the Panthers
last season, is another prospect of some note and could make his mark as a
physical presence on the fourth line. Panthers advanced stats and player usage

Minnesota Wild left wing Zach Parise has been cleared to return from the broken

played another month, trying to push through the pain. Over those 12 games,
Parise had only four goals and one assist. The Wild decided to shut him down and
let him fully heal. In 37 games this season, Parise has 15 goals and 12 assists.

highly paid Olympic mens hockey professionals are insured against acts of
terrorism when they compete in the Sochi Games but it is not at all clear the
same coverage extends to their amateur brethren on the Olympic team. As for
regular Olympic spectators, theyre being warned that most travel insurance
policies wont cover acts of terrorism or war. The Games in southern Russia,
which run from Feb. 7-23, are being staged amid unprecedented security and under
global warnings of danger. An extraordinary travel advisory from the Canadian
government highlights Sochi terrorist threats in bold red script. "In July 2013
Imarat Kavkaz leader Doku Umarov called on militants to derail the Sochi Olympic
Games using any necessary means, and lifted his previous moratorium on actions
of militants in Russia outside the North Caucasus," states the governments
travel advisory page. "On January 19, 2014, the Ansar Al-Sunna terrorist group
took responsibility for the December 2013 attacks on Volgograd ... and
threatened further attacks if the Olympic Games were to take place." Public
Safety Minister Steven Blaney reinforced the message last week by issuing a
statement warning that special security at Olympic venues "does not eliminate
the risk of terrorist attacks." Such government warnings wont likely make a
travellers insurance void, says John Thain, president of the Travel Health
Insurance Association of Canada. Only an outright government advisory not to
travel in a country or region may void travel insurance, he said. But check the
fine print on terrorism because most policies dont cover it, he added. "One of
the messages were trying to get across to all Canadians is know and understand
your policy," Thain told The Canadian Press. It is advice that should apply to
athletes attending in the Games as well. The Canadian Olympic Committee, which
handles insurance for most of the Canadians competing in Sochi, flatly rebuffed
questions about its insurance coverage. "Internal matters including HR (human
resources) and administrative policies for employees, athletes and mission team
members are simply not subjects we discuss publicly," the committee told The
Canadian Press in an email statement. Agent Kris Mychasiw, who represents
bobsled Olympian Kaillie Humphries, said all the terrorism talk is "being blown
out of proportion." &"London had the same issue.
Eddie Royal Bears Jersey. Athens had the same
issue," said Mychasiw. Asked whether Canadas Olympians are insured against a
career-ending injury caused by an act of terrorism, Mychasiw responded "to my
knowledge, no." "Even if you were to get insurance for it, the odds of something
like that happening, or being in an environment where that would happen, are
slim to none," said the agent. Thats not the tack taken by National Hockey
League and its players association. Greg Sutton of Sutton Special Risk, which
insures more than 450 profession hockey players including Sydney Crosby, said
hes taken a number of calls from concerned players and their agents in the
run-up to Sochi. "All of our policies actually include terrorism, but what they
arent covered for is any acts of terrorism which use nuclear, chemical or
biological means," Sutton said in an interview. Bob Nicholson, the president of
Hockey Canada, said group insurance for Olympic pros was handled through the
International Ice Hockey Federation. That was part of the agreement for getting
the pros to Sochi, said Nicholson. Sutton said some players have asked to
include the extra nuclear-chemical-biological coverage, known as NCB, and that
adds about 10 to 15 per cent to the premium. Other players are also taking out
additional personal insurance. "There are players who are still young enough
that theres a need for them to protect their future value, too, and thats where
the personal coverage comes in. We do both." Sutton said Hockey Canada inquired
about adding NCB but hes not sure if it ended up taking the extra coverage. Any
difference between insuring Canadas amateur Olympians and the NHL pros comes
down to a business decision based on guaranteed, multi-million-dollar contracts,
said Mychasiw. "The NHL is taking precautions because thats a money-making
business. Theyre looking at protecting their assets, from the NHL Players

SUN CITY, South Africa -- The first time he met Nelson Mandela, Gary Player got
on his knees and kissed the former political prisoners feet.
Alex Song Jersey . Remembering his "very
tearful" first encounter with Mandela, the nine-time major winner paused Friday
to compose himself and hold back more tears. Mandela, the beloved former South
African president and Nobel laureate, died Thursday at 95. Renowned as a fierce
competitor on the golf course, Player was invited to meet Mandela at his office
in Johannesburg after the anti-apartheid leaders release after 27 years in
prison. But he didnt expect to do what he did, Player said. "I knelt down and I
kissed his feet and I said, I have never kissed anybodys feet in my life, and I
said, I have so much admiration for you. I said to him, It is remarkable, how
can you not have revenge?" Mandelas reply, according to Player, was: "You have
got to start a new life and forgive and go ahead." Player, speaking at the
Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City, said Mandelas ability to inspire with
compassion left him amazed then -- and still does. "It was very tearful for me,
because when you think of a man that has gone to jail for all those years for
doing the right thing, not the wrong thing, it is hard to comprehend that a man
can come out and be like that," Player said. "He was an exceptional man." From
that first meeting, Player and Mandela would cross paths regularly as the
golfer, one of South Africas greatest sportsmen, worked with the president on
charity projects. Once, Player remembered with a big smile, Mandela landed at a
charity tournament in a helicopter to lend support. "I had to meet him when the
helicopter arrived and open the door. Now I had been around him all these years
raising money for young black children and I opened the door, and he says Good
morning Gary, do you remember me?" Player recalled, imitating Mandelas unique
rasping voice. "Just wonderful." Although Player wasnt sure if he ever saw
Mandela swing a golf club, he knew that the anti-apartheid leader "realized the
value of sport" and even followed Players career overseas while he was
imprisoned by South Africas former racist regime. "He said to me, When I was in
jail, I used to watch you playing. He was very complimentary," Player said.

things to come remains to be seen, but that question will likely be answered

struggling offence, which scored 13 runs on an 0-6 road trip, finally broke
loose. Brantley hit a leadoff homer in the fifth and added a two-run single in

five-run first, while Ryan Raburn and Yan Gomes each drove in two runs. NEW YORK
-- Two 23-year-olds, Milos Raonic and Grigor Dimitrov, broke through to their
first major semifinals at Wimbledon. Perhaps this years U.S. Open will be the
tipping point for the rise of a new generation. But recent history suggests that
if somebody other than the "Big 4" wins, a veteran may be more likely. "We didnt
have many young players who were able to challenge for top spots and win Grand
Slam titles," Wimbledon champ Novak Djokovic said. "So this is something that is
happening now, but its still a long way to the Grand Slam title. Its not
something that can happen overnight." It was then-28-year-old Stan Wawrinka who
snapped the streak of 16 straight Grand Slam titles by Djokovic, Roger Federer,
Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray when he won the Australian Open in January. The
only other men in the U.S. Open field who have reached a major final in the last
five years are 32-year-old David Ferrer and 28-year-old Tomas Berdych. The U.S.
Open starts Monday with Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, Maria Sharapova and Venus
Williams among the big names on the court. The player with the most impressive
performance leading to this tournament was 29-year-old Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Tsonga, the runner-up at the 2008 Australian Open, beat Djokovic, Murray,
Dimitrov and Federer to win the title at Toronto this month. As the sport became
more physical, Grand Slam titles became less likely not only for teenagers but
for players in their early 20s. "Everybody realizes that youre reaching your
peak physically maybe a little bit later and then theyre staying there longer,
because they have the technology and theyre more systematic about their
training," said Patrick McEnroe, the U.S. Tennis Associations general manager of
player development. So a group of players not that young by tennis standards has
gained little experience of playing in the highest-pressure moments. The
oft-repeated stat is that the Big 4 have won 36 of the last 38 Grand Slam
titles. Contrast that to the five years before Nadal won his first major
championships at the 2005 French Open to start that streak.
Jeremy Mathieu Barcelona Jersey. As Pete
Sampras reign was ending and Federers beginning, 12 different players won the 20
Grand Slam titles; for six of them, it would be their only major championship.
Now, its daunting not just to win championships but to even get close to them.
Since Murray reached his first major semifinal at the 2008 U.S. Open, the Big 4
have hogged 63 of the 96 slots in the semis. And since the 2006 French Open, the
first Federer-Nadal major final, theyve filled 58 of the 68 spots in Grand Slam
title matches. Nobody else reached a major final for 10 straight events from the
2010 U.S. Open to the 2013 Australian Open. "Its definitely been a tough time
for everybody else trying to break through," Raonic said. Especially younger
players. Of the eight other men to play in Grand Slam title matches since the
2006 French, only Tsonga and Juan Martin del Potro were under age 24. "I was
really impatient -- I wanted things to happen quick for me, just wanted to
achieve right way," Dimitrov said. "I cant forget that nowadays the game has
changed so much that nothing happens like that," he added, snapping his fingers.
A 20-year-old del Potro stunned Federer in the 2009 U.S. Open final, seemingly
heralding the arrival of a new generation. It wasnt to be. Del Potro, now 25,
has been hampered by injuries and wont play in New York this year because of a
wrist problem. He and his contemporaries are a glaring omission from the upper
echelons of the sport. The rankings current top 10 include the two 23-year-olds,
Raonic and Dimitrov; no one else is under 27. Other promising players in their
mid-20s such as Kei Nishikori, Ernests Gulbis and Marin Cilic have never
maintained a consistent high level. Djokovic and Murray were born a week apart
in 1987; Nadal is less than a year older. If they can stay healthy -- certainly
a big "if" with Nadal -- the logjam at the top could stick for a while.

. More than 3 inches of rain soaked the Mayakoba Resort since early Wednesday
night. Play was suspended from 8:40 to 11 a.m., and stopped again at 1:22 p.m.
It was called for the day at 3:30 p.m., with only 15 players able to finish
their rounds on the El Camaleon course. "The biggest thing was the lightning
threat and the rain we received," said Slugger White, the vice-president of
rules and competition for the PGA Tour. "We absolutely lost the golf course.
With this rain it just knocked us out." More thunderstorms are expected Friday.
"Well just grind through it again," White said. Stuard had six birdies and a
bogey. He had his best career PGA Tour finish in the 2010 event, tying for
second behind Cameron Beckman. Two-time heart transplant recipient Erik Compton
and Alvaro Quiros were a stroke back. Compton completed 17 holes, and Quiros
finished 15. Harris English, Jeff Maggert, Josh Teater and Jamie Lovemark were 3
under. English and Harris finished 17 holes, Maggert played 15, and Lovemark 12.
Mike Weir of Brights Grove, Ont., is 1-over through 17 holes. Defending champion
John Huh had yet to tee off. He won the February 2012 event for his first PGA
Tour title, parring the eighth hole of a playoff with Robert Allenby. The
playoff matched the second-longest in tour history. Huh closed with a 63, while
Allenby had a double bogey on the final hole of regulation. Calgarys
Stephen Ames also never got to tee off. The PGA Tour event offers full FedEx Cup

FLORHAM PARK, N.
Superstar Bleu Marine Pas Cher .J. -- New
York Jets defensive linemen Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples are appealing
their fines by the NFL for their hits on Tennessees Jake Locker. Wilkerson was
docked $15,785 for roughing the passer, while Coples was fined $7,875 for
unnecessary roughness. Both were surprised at the fines, especially since no
penalties were called on the field. "I was going to appeal, regardless,"
Wilkerson said Thursday. "It didnt matter the amount. If it was $5,000, I still
wouldve appealed. I dont think it was a dirty hit. I dont think I shouldve
gotten fined." Locker was hit by both Wilkerson and Coples in the third quarter
of Tennessees 38-13 win Sunday after he threw a pass. Locker was carted off the
field and expected to miss a few weeks with a sprained right hip and knee.
Wilkerson made contact first after he took a step and smacked into Locker just
after he released the football. Coples then hit into Locker low -- "just a
football play," he called it -- as the quarterback fell. "The league felt like
it was a personal foul or an inappropriate hit," Coples said. "But one thing
about it is that its up for debate, so Im going to appeal it, and go forward
from here." Titans coach Mike Munchak called both hits "unnecessary." "I thought
the first one, he dropped his helmet into him and loaded onto him, which youre
supposed to pull back when youre late. He didnt," Munchak said Monday. "The
second one was totally unnecessary." Locker, however, said he didnt think the
hits were intentional, and neither player should be fined. "I personally dont
think it was a dirty hit," Wilkerson said. "He said it, so ..." Added Coples:
"He felt that same way, and thats a good thing." Wilkerson insisted that being
fined for the hit wont change how he approaches his style of play. "I just play
hard, physical football like Im supposed to and how I was brought up and
taught," Wilkerson said. "Im going to continue to do that and play ball the way
I know how to play ball." Titans safety Michael Griffin said Wednesday that he
was fined $21,000 by the league for his hit on Jets receiver Stephen Hill, who
suffered a concussion. Griffin said he appealed the fine as soon as he received
it. Hills status for New Yorks game at Atlanta on Monday night was uncertain.

began to issue punishments last season for flopping, the art of exaggerating
contact to deceive referees into calling a foul, but only retroactively. If a
player is determined to have flopped after a postgame review, he is given a

Adidas Zx 750 Noir Pas Cher . Rocque and her

South Korea scored a single in the ninth. "Honestly, this is unexplainable,"
Rocque said.EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers seem to have solved their problems
in net and have been getting some positive results because of it. Jordan Eberle
had a pair of goals and an assist and Viktor Fasth made 28 saves as the Oilers
continued to put crimps in other teams playoff plans, coming away with a 5-1
victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Sam Gagner, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
and Taylor Hall also scored for the Oilers (25-36-9), who have won two in a row
and gone 10-4-3 in their past 17 games, and at least temporarily moved past
Florida into third-last in the NHL. Much of the progress the Oilers have made of
late has been since trading Devan Dubnyk and Ilya Bryzgalov away and bringing in
Fasth and Ben Scrivens. "There are no soft goals with them," Hall said. "Im sure
everyone around the room will tell you. You just play with more confidence. You
arent afraid to make that little play that could turn into a big offensive
chance when you know that you have guys like Viktor and Ben back there. It is a
huge boost going into games knowing that we are going to give up chances, but we
have good goalies in net." Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said his new
goaltending tandem has made an immediate impact. "Its been perfect," he said.
"The great thing is I think they have become friends right away and are helping
and supporting each other, which is so important. There is competition going on
at the same time. The better the one plays spurs on the other and they are just
going to keep pulling each other to the top. Our goaltending has just been
fabulous." Gabriel Bourque replied for the Predators (29-30-10) who have lost
two in a row and are in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the second
year in a row as they are nine points out of the last post-season berth in the
West with just 13 games remaining on the schedule. "It wasnt a good effort, we
didnt do too many good things out there, we turned the puck over," said
Nashville assistant captain Mike Fisher. "We didnt do too many good things
defensively and they buried them when they got chances. They played pretty
well." Predators head coach Barry Trotz said it was not the kind of effort his
team can afford to have right now. "I just thought that we didnt have enough
urgency from enough guys and we need guys to step up," he said. "I thought our
best players were some of our young guys. We have to give our goalie some run
support, we have to be better defensively than that and our special teams have
to be at least even every night." Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne allowed five
goals on 26 shots and was pulled midway through the third period. "It was
obviously not the best game for myself," he said. "Im disappointed for sure. Its
the way it goes I guess once in a while, but its not acceptable. Its a little
bit embarrassing too, but its over with now." The game started on a rough note
just 48 seconds in as Predators defenceman Ryan Ellis pasted Eberle into the
boards on a cross-check from behind, igniting a scrum. The Predators came close
with five minutes remaining in the first period as they took a bit of a surprise
shot on Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth that he got a piece of with his glove before
looking like an offensive lineman and preventing Patric Hornqvist from getting
to the rebound in the crease. Edmonton broke the scoreless deadloock with 35
seconds left in the opening frame as the rebound from a Martin Marincin point
shot came to Gagner in the blue paint and he hooked a backhand shot past
Predators goalie Pekka Rinne.
Adidas Superstar Rose Pale. It was just
Gagners eighth goal of the season. The Preds came close to tying the game four
minutes into the second, but a Nick Spaling shot rang off the post. Edmonton
made it a 2-0 game eight minutes into the second as Eberle made a long cross-ice
pass through traffic on the power play to Nugent-Hopkins, who wrested a shot
that went off the tip of Rinnes glove and in. It was the 16th goal of the season
for Nugent-Hopkins, breaking a 15-game scoreless drought. The Oilers took a
three-goal lead on a bit of an unusual play with five minutes left in the second
period as Hall took a backhand golf swing of a shot that found the top corner
and quickly exited the net. Play continued for 1:17 before the Oilers took a
penalty and they were able to review the shot and determine it was a goal. "I
thought I saw the net bulge," Hall said. "The ref was standing right there with
a really good vantage point and I thought if it was in that he would have seen
it. It was a weird shift keeping going after that when you think you have scored
and you are just hoping for a whistle to blow to see if you have a goal or not."
Nashville got on the board with 1:21 remaining in the second as Hornqvist took
the puck behind the net before hooking it in front to Bourque, who sent a shot
through traffic to beat Fasth. Edmonton made it 4-1 eight-and-a-half minutes
into the third period with another power-play goal. Anton Lander picked up his
first point of the season on a nice feed to Eberle at the side of the net as he
lifted a backhand shot that ticked off of Rinne and in. Eberle scored his second
goal of the game just 1:23 later, breaking into the Nashville zone with speed
and scoring his 23rd of the season on a low backhand shot. "We have been trying
to get some confidence in little things and tonight we started to bear down and
found some ways to score, especially on the power play," Eberle said. "It
definitely gives you some confidence and it was nice to get out of the hole
there." Rinne was replaced by backup Carter Hutton for the remainder of the
game. The Predators play the second match of their four-game road trip in
Vancouver on Wednesday night. The Oilers welcome the Buffalo Sabres for the
second game of their six-game homestand on Thursday. Notes: It was the third and

. Yankees chief operating officer Lonn Trost said at a news conference Monday he
anticipated the upper deck would be closed off, leaving capacity at 33,444, down
from the ballparks baseball capacity of 49,642. Trost said it will take three
days to convert field from baseball to soccer, although in a rush it could be
cut to 2 1/2, and the same amount of time to switch it back. The pitchers mound
will be removed each time with a clawlike structure, stored and replaced. The
soccer field, which runs from the first-base dugout to left field, will be 110
by 70 yards, slightly shorter and narrower than the preferred 115-by-74 yards.
NYCFC is working on plans to build a permanent soccer-specific home in New York
City and hasnt given a timetable for how long it will play at Yankee Stadium.
Retired Yankees closer Mariano Rivera attended the news conference in his role
as NYCFCs first season-ticket holder. NYCFC, co-owned by Manchester City and the
Yankees, joins MLS next year along with Orlando as the league expands to 21
teams. Atlanta joins the league in 2017 and David Beckham has been given a Miami

season, beating No. 2-ranked Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 7-5 on Saturday to defend
her title at the Brisbane International and set the tone for the Australian
Open. TORONTO -- In coach Randy Carlyles estimation, the Toronto Maple Leafs
have had to make last-minute lineup decisions much more this season than usual,
and theyll have to again Saturday night before facing the Philadelphia Flyers.
Winger David Clarkson left the morning skate with a pulled muscle and is
considered questionable. Its believed to be the same left leg problem that crept
up at the end of Fridays practice although Carlyle didnt figure that would still
be bothering Clarkson. "Kind of a little bit of a surprise again today for me,"
Carlyle said. "We have to make a decision later this afternoon." Carlyle said
the Leafs have the option of recalling a player or dressing 11 forwards and
seven defencemen. Carter Ashton could be inserted into the lineup up front or
Toronto could go with 11 and seven for the sixth time in seven games. "There is
some options," Carlyle said. "Its always tough when youre missing quality
players, and nobody wants to do that, but in the situation if the player is not
deemed healthy by our medical staff and himself, then we have no other choice
other than to make decisions." Clarkson has four goals and six assists in 43
games for Toronto after starting the season with a 10-game suspension. Those 10
points are good for 14th on the team and tied with Dave Bolland, who hasnt
played since November. Captain Dion Phaneuf will be in the lineup against
Philadelphia as Carlyle said Friday. Phaneuf took part in the morning skate, his
first time on the ice this week with teammates outside of game action.
http://www.uswomensoccershop.com/ashlyn-harris-usa-jersey/.
"I feel good," Phaneuf said. "Obviously when youre not on the ice for a couple
days, you want to get back, feel the puck a bit before you go right into a
game." Phaneuf, who leads the Leafs in average ice time at 24:19 a game, has
played in every game this season except the two he was suspended for boarding
Kevan Miller of the Boston Bruins. That included games this week against the
Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers. Taking some time off between games
is a matter of preservation for Phaneuf. "Sometimes when you have the
opportunity to rest certain things, you want to take the time to do that," he
said. "You weigh how much hockeys going to be played. "For me, it was good to be
able to get those couple days to recharge and to rest a couple bumps and
bruises." More than bumps and bruises have kept Bolland and tough guy Colton Orr
out. Bolland hasnt played since having a tendon on the back of his ankle sliced
Nov. 2, while Orr has been out the past six games. The Leafs open a five-game
road trip Monday in Anaheim, and Carlyle hopes Bolland and Orr will be available
by the end of it, March 17 at Detroit. "Orrsy skated again today, so Orrsys
getting close," he said. "And with Bolland, its a situation as weve talked about
before where were just waiting and biding our time and hopefully rebuilding that
ankle, that area. "Hell give us the green light when he says hes ready."

Donovan back in the fold, the U.S. resumes World Cup qualifying next week with
its deepest team yet. Donovan was among 23 players selected Thursday by coach
Jurgen Klinsmann for upcoming qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico.
Klinsmann snubbed the Americans career scoring leader for the last round of
qualifiers, saying Donovan needed to work his way back onto the team following
his off-season sabbatical. But Donovan redeemed himself -- and then some -- with
his play in last months Gold Cup, scoring five goals as the Americans won the
title. He has continued his dazzling play with four goals in three games for the
Los Angeles Galaxy, which on Wednesday rewarded him with a new, long-term
contract. "He got himself back into the team during the Gold Cup," Klinsmann
said. "He did a wonderful job there." While its hard to imagine a starting
lineup without Donovan when the Americans resume qualifying at Costa Rica on
Sept. 6, Klinsmann now has multiple options at almost every position. He used
two almost completely different rosters for the last round of qualifiers and the
Gold Cup, and the Americans responded with a record 12 straight wins. It is the
longest streak in the world currently, and three shy of the record set by Spain
in 2009. The winning streak, and the depth behind it, has given the Americans a
swagger normally reserved for European and South American teams. "We have a lot
of respect for Costa Rica. (We) can expect a really very, very intense game,
high-energy game," Klinsmann said. "But I think we have the quality and the
mindset to be confident enough to say, Were going to go there for three points.
"This is what were trying to build," Klinsmann added. "More and more, this
belief is getting bigger. Its growing throughout the entire group. Weve got a
deeper roster now than ever before. Hopefully, we can take that mindset down to
San Jose and win there for first tiime ever in World Cup qualifying.
Dani Alves Jersey. " In addition to Donovan,
Klinsmann selected 11 players who were part of the Gold Cup winning squad:
DaMarcus Beasley, Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Matt Besler, Edgar Castillo,
Mix Diskerud, Omar Gonzalez, Eddie Johnson, Michael Orozco and Nick Rimando. He
passed over Joe Corona and Sacha Kljestan, who were part of the squad for a
come-from-behind victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina earlier this month. "It was not
easy to make those decisions," Klinsmann said. After playing at Costa Rica, the
Americans return home to face archrival Mexico on Sept. 10 in Columbus, Ohio.
The U.S. is atop the qualifying group from North and Central America and the
Caribbean region, leading Costa Rica by two points with Mexico five points back.
The top three teams advance to next years World Cup in Brazil, with the

Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Oakland Athletics third baseman Brandon Inge
was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of a strained right
groin.
Adidas Zx 700 Soldes . The move is
retroactive to May 13. Inge, who has not played since May 12 against Detroit,
has batted .227 with four homers and 17 runs batted in over 11 games since
signing with Oakland as a free agent on April 30. The 34-year-old veteran was
released by the Tigers just four days earlier after batting only .100 in nine
games. He had spent his entire career with Tigers, making his big league debut
with the club in 2001. Oakland recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A
Sacramento to fill the roster spot. Rosales was on the big league roster to
start the season and appeared in one game as a defensive replacement during
Oaklands season- opening two-game set in Japan. He was sent to the minors April
2. In 36 games at Sacramento, Rosales was batting .277 with two homers and 19
runs batted in.

Jerseys Online . -- Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jeff Karstens
says that this spring hes got the mindset of a starting pitcher. CHICAGO -- The
Chicago White Sox jumped ahead, and the Detroit Tigers came right back. Jose
Abreu had a big two-run homer for the White Sox, and Victor Martinez responded
with one of his own for the AL Central leaders. Adam Eaton loved every minute of
it. Eaton had a key run-scoring single in the sixth inning, and the White Sox
snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-5 victory over the Tigers on Monday
night. "South Siders, were grinders," said Eaton, acquired from Arizona in a
three-team December trade. "Were going to try to do the little things right and
grind games out. I think that was as close to a boxing match as you can get.
"Grinding it out, and I wouldnt have a baseball game any other way. I think
thats how its supposed to be played." Gordon Beckham had three hits and
Conor Gillaspie drove in two runs as Chicago bounced back from a sluggish trip
to Southern California. The White Sox took two of three from the Dodgers before
getting swept in a weekend series against the Angels. Martinez, Miguel Cabrera
and Eugenio Suarez connected for Detroit, which has dropped seven of nine.
Cabrera went 2 for 4 while serving as the designated hitter after leaving Sunday
nights 5-3 loss to Boston with left hamstring tightness. "I feel better than
yesterday," Cabrera said. "In the last couple innings, it was tightening. But
hopefully I can come back tomorrow in the field and get loose again." Martinezs
two-run shot off Hector Noesi (2-4) trimmed Chicagos lead to 5-4 in the sixth.
But the White Sox got a big run in the bottom half on Eatons single and held on
to win the opener of a nine-game homestand. Ronald Belisario worked a shaky
ninth for his sixth save. "We had so many people contribute in so many different
ways," Gillaspie said. Alex Avila hit an RBI double off Belisario before the
right-hander retired Suarez on a deep fly to centre. Pinch-runner Rajai Davis
advanced to third on the play, but Belisario struck out Ian Kinsler and got
pinch-hitter Torii Hunter to ground to third for the final out. Rick Porcello
(8-4) struggled through five-plus inninngs for Detroit, allowing six runs and
nine hits.
Cheap Jerseys. He also committed a costly
throwing error that set up Eatons run-scoring hit. "I just couldnt find any
consistency in executing pitches," Porcello said. "I mean, we face these guys a
lot. They know what youre going to do, and when youre not on point, on your
game, theyre going to get all over it." Porcello was 9-1 with a 2.35 ERA in his
previous 12 starts against the White Sox. The 25-year-old right-hander went 3-0
with a 1.64 ERA in three starts at U.S. Cellular Field last season. Noesi was
charged with four runs and seven hits over 5 2-3 innings in his second straight
win. The right-hander, claimed off waivers from Texas in April, pitched six
solid innings against the Dodgers in his previous start. "Hes giving us a chance
to win," manager Robin Ventura said. "He has been great. The changeup for him
has really been a factor that has got him to this point." The White Sox scored
three times in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Gillaspie drove in Beckham with his
second RBI single and Abreu followed with a drive to centre for his 18th homer.
Abreu had two hits after he went 1 for 12 in the sweep by the Angels. Cabrera
watched for a brief moment as his one-out drive in the fourth sailed over the
wall in left for his 12th homer. J.D. Martinez then singled with two down, but
Gillaspie robbed Nick Castellanos of extra bases with a leaping grab at third
for the final out. Suarez went deep in the fifth, tying it at 2. It was his
second homer in his fourth major league game since he was promoted from Triple-A
Toledo on Wednesday. NOTES: Victor Martinez has 15 homers and 15 strikeouts this
season. ... White Sox GM Rick Hahn said the team has a "positive history" with
agent Scott Boras and thinks they will be able to work together again when it
comes to top draft pick Carlos Rodon. The White Sox grabbed the left-hander with
the No. 3 overall selection Thursday night. The deadline for signing most
amateur draft picks is July 18. ... Tigers RHP Justin Verlander (6-5, 4.19 ERA)
faces LHP John Danks (4-5, 4.32) on Tuesday night.

TORONTO - Starting pitcher J.
http://www.supercolorrosachiaro.it/adidas-superstar-a-poco-prezzo.html
.A. Happ and catcher Erik Kratz had a plan. The left-hander came through with
six solid innings and, with two home runs and three RBI from Edwin Encarnacion,
the Blue Jays defeated the Cleveland Indians 4-2 on Thursday. Happ (2-1) allowed
six hits, two walks and one run, on a homer by David Murphy in the fifth inning,
in his third start of the season. The left-handed pitcher believes preparation
with Kratz was the key to his success. "We went over some stuff before the game
about how we wanted to attack them a little bit more deliberately," Happ said.
"And for the most part we were able to do that." Blue Jays manager John Gibbons,
who won his 400th game with Toronto, liked how the teams starting battery
operated. "(Happ) stepped up," said Gibbons. "I thought Kratz did a nice job
with him, working that fastball on the inside part of the plate. That was big
for him, it really was. And big for us." Happs control impressed the Indians
lineup as well. "His fastball was really getting on guys," Cleveland
left-fielder Ryan Raburn said. "I know its 92-93 but out of his hand, it just
seemed a lot harder. And he spotted his pitches. He didnt miss over the plate a
whole lot from what I saw." Encarnacion, who has eight homers on the season,
also had a double and lined out to third in his other at-bat. Juan Francisco hit
his seventh homer of the season for the Blue Jays (21-21) who won the rubber
match of a three-game series with the Indians (19-22) to complete a 5-4 home
stand. If Happ is battling to prove to some people that he belongs in the
rotation, he preferred not to discuss it in detail. "I dont want to get into
that," Happ said. "I think youre always doing that to somebody. That person may
change or those people may change." Encarnacion has been the designated hitter
for the past two games with Adam Lind playing first base. The change was made
just before Wednesdays game because Encarnacion had spasms in his upper back.
"It felt a lot better today, so Im ready to go," Encarnacion said. "I felt a lot
better at the plate. The last couple of games Ive been getting hits. Ive been
great at the plate the last couple of weekend, and it makes me happy and very
proud because when I play like that I know I can help the team win." "Hes one of
the top sluggers in the game," Gibbons said. "Got off to a slow start, then he
kicked it in. You look where hes at now, too, hes been barrelling a lot of balls
all year, especially the last month, and a number of times he got nothing to
show for it. So numbers could be even better now with little breaks here or
there, a little luck. "But hes key to this team, of course with him and (Jose)
Bautista back to back. Thats big. Of course, Lindy and now with Francisco. Those
two (Encarnacion and Bautista), we know what to expect, theyre a given. But I
like the way our lineup looks now. Its that much stronger, top to bottom."
Cleveland dropped to 4-10 when facing a left-handed starter, 0-8 on the road,
this season. Happ opened the season on the disabled list with a sore back and
began pitching from the bullpen on his return. Casey Janssen, who also started
the season on the disabled list, pitched the ninth for his second save of the
season. Cleveland right-hander Danny Salazar (1-4) needed 98 pitches to work
through four innings and was replaced by right-hander C.C. Lee to start the
fifth with the Blue Jays leading 2-1. Salazar allowed five hits, including
second-inning homers by Encarnacion and Francisco, two walks and two runs. He
also hit a batter. "I just didnt have a good feeling for the ball today to
command my fastball, and my change-up wasnt there," Salazar said. He felt that
he made a good pitch on Franciscos homer. "I was just behind in the count," he
said. "Theyre going to be ready to hit everything there." Lee faced two batters.
Bautista led off the fifth with a single and Encarnacion lofted a drive to left
on a 3-2 fastball. It was the second time he has hit two homers in a game this
season and it was the 13th multi-homer game of his career. Left-hander
Brett Cecil pitched the seventh for Toronto and right-hander Steve Delabar took
over in the eighth and was greeted by Raburns double. Carlos Santana walked. But
Asdrubal Cabrera lined out to right and pinch hitter Lonnie Chisenhall lined out
to centre. Yan Gomes singled up the middle to cut the lead to two runs and bring
in left-hander Aaron Loup. He struck out Murphy, who had five hits and five RBI
in Clevelands 15-4 win on Wednesday. NOTES: Right-hander Dustin McGowan, who is
2-2 with a 5.08 earned-run average in eight starts, has been removed from the
starting rotation and will pitch from the bullpen. Right-handers Marcus Stroman
and Todd Redmond are candidates to start in his place next Tuesday in Boston.
Right-hander Liam Hendriks who is 5-0 with a 1.51 ERA at triple-A Buffalo is
another possibility. … Centre-fielder Colby Rasmus (hamstring) was placed on the
15-day disabled list on Thursday and outfielder Anthony Gose was recalled from
Buffalo. …The Indians put outfielder Nyjer Morgan (right knee sprain) on the DL
and called up infielder Jesus Aguilar from triple-A Columbus. … The Blue Jays
travel to Arlington, Tex., to play the Rangers in a three-game series that opens
Friday with Drew Hutchison (1-3, 4.37 ERA) starting against Yu Darvish (3-1,
2.33 ERA).
