CINCINNATI - Welington Castillo drove in three runs with two home runs, Donnie Murphy added a two-run shot and even pitcher Edwin Jackson smacked one as the Chicago Cubs rolled to a 9-1 victory over the suddenly punchless Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. http://www.footballbrownsnflstore.com/Youth-Nate-Orchard-Elite-Jersey/ . Jackson hit his second career home run in the seventh inning on his way to his first win in seven starts since July 31. The Reds — who went into the game third in the NL Central, two games behind first-place St. Louis — saw their streak of consecutive scoreless innings reach 15 since a walkoff win over Los Angeles on Sunday. Then Zack Cozart and pinch-hitter Corky Miller hit consecutive doubles with one out in the seventh. Jackson (8-15) allowed nine hits and one run with four strikeouts in seven innings. The Cubs earned consecutive wins over Cincinnati for the first time since 2011, when they won on Sept. 7 in Chicago and Sept. 12 in Cincinnati — a span of 36 games. They clinched their first series win at Great American Ball Park since Aug. 3-5, 2009 Reds starter Tony Cingrani, in his second start since coming off the disabled list on Thursday, left the game two outs into the second inning with back spasms. He had been sidelined since August 25 with a lower back strain. Junior Lake led off the second with a double, giving him a seven-game hitting streak and his fourth streak of seven or more games since he was called up from Triple-A Iowa on July 19. Castillo followed one out later with a 470-foot homer into the upper deck in left field on a full-count pitch. Castillos fifth homer of the season was his first since Aug. 10. Cingrani (7-4) left the game one out later. Murphy added his 377-foot, two-run homer down the left field line on the first pitch he saw from Greg Reynolds in the third inning. Lake singled to right and went to second on right fielder Jay Bruces error, and Darnell McDonald drove him in with a soft single to centre field that Shin-Soo Choo appeared to midjudge. Barney drove in Jackson with a sacrifice fly in the fourth and Murphy added an RBI double in the sixth before Castillo hit his second homer in the seventh — the second multi-homer game of his career. NOTES: The Cubs will use a six-man rotation for the 12-game stretch that started on Monday, allowing RHP Scott Baker to get two more starts as he continues his comeback from Tommy John surgery. They will go back to a five-man rotation for the remaining eight games. "Everybody will get their same amount of starts," manager Dale Sveum said. "Everybody will just get a little bit extra rest. It works out where (LHP Travis) Wood and (RHP Jeff) Samardzija will pitch against the Cardinals (in the seasons last series)." ... Reds LHP Sean Marshall said he felt good after throwing 23 pitches off the mound to live batters in simulated game action before Tuesdays game. Marshall has been on the disabled list since May 24 with shoulder tendinitis. ... Reds RHP Johnny Cueto is scheduled to throw about 45 pitches in another set of simulated innings before Wednesdays game. Cueto threw 30 on Sunday as he continues his comeback from a strained muscle below his right shoulder. Hes been on the DL since June 29.http://www.footballbrownsnflstore.com/Youth-Dwayne-Bowe-Elite-Jersey/ . After the game that saw the Blues snap the Avalanches three-game winning streak with a 4-1 win at the Pepsi Center to win their fifth-consecutive game, head coaches Patrick Roy and Ken Hitchcock had choice words for one another.MASON, Ohio -- Top-seeded Serena Williams kept her poise during the toughest moments at the Western & Southern Open and pulled through a tough opening match as well. She rallied from behind in both tiebreakers to beat Samantha Stosur 7-6 (7), 7-6 (7) in an hour and 54 minutes. She found it useful to get pushed so hard in her first match. "Its good when you play a lot of close matches and you come out on top -- Im defeated, Im down and I come back and win," she said. "Thats very good." Stosur got ahead 4-0 in the first tiebreaker before Williams rallied. Stosur had two set points in the second tiebreaker, but hit a shot into the net and another one long to even it. Williams won it when Stosur dumped another shot into the net. "Against player like that you think, Oh, there is a chance there," Stosur said. "More often than not they come up with the goods to shut you down." Asked how she pulled it out, Williams said, "I really dont know. She was up in both of the breakers. It was just a great match, really." By contrast, Andy Murray needed little more than an hour to get through his opening match. He faced only three break points -- and fought all of them off -- during a 6-3, 6-3 win over Joao Sousa. http://www.footballbrownsnflstore.com/Youth-Pierre-Desir-Elite-Jersey/. Murray is still trying to get back into form from back surgery last September. He also made a break with coach Ivan Lendl in March that was a big adjustment. "Its been a tough year," Murray said. "There have been a few things happen. Obviously coming back from surgery is hard. To me now, that isnt in any way an excuse. Now I have had enough time to get over it. Obviously with Ivan, that was also tough." No. 4 Tomas Berdych converted only one break point while losing to Yen-Hsun Lu 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. John Isner, who reached the finals in Cincinnati last year before losing to Rafael Nadal, moved on with a solid 6-3, 7-6 (1) victory over Marinko Matosevic. "I played so unbelievably well here last year," Isner said. "Im off to a very good start this year. I love this tournament. I feel very comfortable here." There was an upset in the womens draw. Third-seeded Petra Kvitova had trouble with her serve and lost to Elina Svitolina 6-2, 7-6 (2). Kvitova had nine double-faults and made just 52 per cent of her first serves. "Im disappointed how I played today, for sure," she said. "From the beginning, I didnt feel very comfortable out there." Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
CLEVELAND -- Another qualified coaching candidate has eluded the Browns. Air Force 1 Alte Rosse . Ken Whisenhunts decision to accept Tennessees opening leaves Cleveland as one of just three NFL franchises still searching for a head coach. Whisenhunt, who guided Arizona to a Super Bowl, came close to being hired by the Browns last year and interviewed with the team on Saturday. San Diegos loss on Sunday in the AFC playoffs freed up teams to make offers to Whisenhunt and he chose the Titans after it appeared he was headed to Detroit. Its not known if the Browns tried to outbid the Titans for the well-regarded 51-year-old. With Whisenhunt no longer in the mix, the Browns moved into the third week of their quest to replace Rob Chudzinski without any clear front-runner, but with a new former NFL head coach on their list. The team has interviewed at least five known candidates and the Browns reportedly met Monday with former Titans coach Mike Munchak, also in consideration with the Lions. The 53-year-old Munchak, a Hall of Fame lineman, went 22-26 in three seasons with the Titans, who fired him on Jan. 4, ending his 30-plus-years association with the franchise. Clevelands degree of interest in Munchak isnt known since the team is not commenting on any interviews and Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner have maintained a low profile since dumping Chudzinski after one season. And while there may not be a current favourite to take over as Clevelands seventh full-time coach since 1999, there are signs that Denver offensive co-ordinator Adam Gase could be the Browns top choice. The 35-year-old Gase was the first candidate contacted by the Browns, but he informed them -- along with the Minnesota Vikings -- that he wanted to wait until after the playoffs to be considered. "I told both teams that were interested in me that I appreciated it and I was going to wait until after our season had concluded," Gase said on Jan. 3. "They were great about it. They said they appreciated me being up front and honest about it, and I thought that was the best decision for what we are trying to accomplish with our team." Its not known if Gase has agreed to an interview with either team. NFL rules prohibit teams from offering jobs to assistant coaches who are still in the playoffs. Gases decision to delay any interviews raised some flags about whether hes actually ready to be a head coach. But as long as hes paired with quarterback Peyton Manning, Gases profile will continue to grow and hell undoubtedly be coveted if he waits another year. Following Denvers win on Sunday over San Diego, Manning praised Gase during his postgame news conference for his play calling in helping the Broncos advance to Sundays AFC Championship against New England. In his first season as Denvers offensive co-ordinator, the Broncos scored an NFL record 606 points and led the league with 457.3 yards per game and 340.3 yards passing. His resume is impressive, but even if the Browns meet with Gase, its not a given he will be hired. Hes never been a head coach, and Haslam and Banner said they were determined to find a "strong winner who knows how to win football games" as they began looking for their second coach in just over a year. If the Browns chose to wait on Gase, they run the risk of the coaching talent pool drying up and being in a desperate situation should he turn them down. Cleveland has waited until after the Super Bowl before. Following the 2004 season, the Browns hired Romeo Crennel in the hours after the Super Bowl. The Browns are already losing a public relations war as the search has dragged on. After New England offensive co-ordinator Josh McDaniels withdrew his name from consideration for Clevelands opening last week, it heightened the perception that Cleveland is not an attractive job. It hasnt helped that some national reports have described the Browns situation as "toxic" and "radioactive." Haslam and Banner have also interviewed Seattle defensive co-ordinator Dan Quinn, Arizona defensive co-ordinator Todd Bowles and Green Bay quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo. http://www.airforcescarpe.it/uomo-nike-air-force-1-low-scarpe-hyper-rosa-nere-596728-608.html . Sociedad remained in sixth place with Villarreal a point behind in seventh, both in Europa League spots and in striking distance of fourth place and the final Champions League berth. Sociedad forward Carlos Vela chipped goalkeeper Jaime Jimenez after receiving an equally exquisite lobbed pass from Ruben Pardo to set him up in the 23rd minute at Anoeta Stadium. It was Velas 12th goal in league play this campaign. "The truth is we didnt play a good game, but we won," said Sociedad coach Jagoba Arrasate, whose team struggled to control possession in the second half and needed goalie Claudio Bravo to secure the three points by denying Carlos Pena in the 57th. "We have players capable of doing things like that great goal, and that makes everything easiier," Arrasate said. http://www.airforcescarpe.it/donne-porpora-adidas-superstar-2-print-trainers.html. Jeremy Perbet slotted in Villarreals winner in the fifth after he received the ball with his back to the goal and deftly turned to shoot around his marker. Villarreal squandered several more chances before Getafe made a late push but failed to get the equalizer. Their defeats left Getafe and Valladolid in the relegation zone. Also, last-place Real Betis won 3-1 at Levante to earn its first away victory in league play after 14 winless visits this season. The long-awaited away road win left Betis seven points from safety with eight rounds to go. Almeria overcame Seydou Keitas goal just seven seconds into the match to fight back for a 2-2 draw at home with Valencia. Valencia and Levante stayed in the middle of the standings, while Almeria inched two points from the drop. Atletico Madrid leads the league by one point over Barcelona. Real Madrid was in third three points behind the pacesetter. The league resumes on Saturday. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ChinaWholesale Jerseys ' ' '

He died Monday at his home in Trabuco Canyon in Orange County, according to his wife of 43 years, Melody Braden. Braden, who played in the late 1940s and early 50s, began playing tennis in grade school in his hometown of Monroe, Michigan and captured the Class A state singles title in high school in 1946 and 47. The 5-foot-6 Braden was a 1951 graduate of Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where he was captain of the tennis team and later inducted into the schools athletic hall of fame. He was one of the top players on teams that won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships in each of his four years. Braden turned pro after college at a time when there were only a few professional tennis tournaments. He eventually joined the legendary Jack Kramer on Kramers fledgling pro tour. Among those Braden played with were Jimmy Evert, the father of Hall-of-Famer Chris Evert, and George Richey, the father of future pros Cliff and Nancy Richey. Rest in Peace, Vic Braden., Chris Evert wrote on her Twitter account. Innovative, cutting edge kind of guy. Will miss his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. Hell be greatly missed. Braden and Kramer later co-founded the Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills Estates, California, where future Hall-of-Famer Tracy Austin learned the game as a child. So sad to hear of the passing of tennis coach Vic Braden, a pioneer, innovator, & true legend in our sport! Austin tweeted. Braden was known for his innovative teaching style, and his application of technology to the basics of tennis instruction. He authored several books and articles on tennis instruction and was a licensed psychologist in California. Tennis has lost a treasure, Billie Jean King wrote on Twitter. he was always on the cutting edge of science in tennis & is an all-time great in our industry. Braden is also survived by children Kory Braden-Hittelman, Kristen Paul, Troy Davis and Shawn Davis, and four grandchildren. His daughter, Kelly, died 12 years ago from complications of lupus. Bradens body has been donated to the University of California, Irvine, for research purposes. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Voetbalshirt Eden Hazard . 1 offence. Captaining Germany in London, Mertesacker powered in the only goal of the Wembley Stadium friendly after meeting a cross from Toni Kroos in the 36th minute. "The fact that weve won here at Wembley this time-honoured place is a joy for us," Germany coach Joachim Loew said through a translator. While Germany deployed a second-string squad -- and took control after taking the lead -- England started with a strong lineup that couldnt get a shot on target or prevent boos ringing out around the venue at the final whistle for the second time in four days here. England, which was beaten 2-0 by Chile on Friday, has now lost consecutive matches at Wembley for the first time since defeats to Wales and Scotland in 1977. The closest Roy Hodgsons team came to an equalizer was when Andros Townsend struck the post from a long-range strike on a night when Germany goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller had little to do. Germany fans celebrated the win by singing -- in English -- "Footballs coming home" -- taken from the England anthem "Three Lions." It was a miserable way for the English Football Association to round out its 150th anniversary celebrations in front of a 85,934-strong crowd, with Germany exposing the hosts technical deficiencies. "It was a harsh defeat but we needed better quality," Hodgson said. "The effort, the work rate and desire, I cant fault at all. But in the time we had the ball in the German half, we werent as efficient as the Germans were when they had the ball in our half. "The quality of our passing and shooting was not as good as the Germans." England, which beat Germany here in the 1966 World Cup final, was only spared a heavier defeat against a fellow Brazil 2014 qualifier by Joe Harts saves. The Manchester City goalkeeper, who was rested in the Chile friendly, provided a remindder of his abilities three weeks after being dropped by his club following a series of blunders.http://www.belgievoetbalshirt.be/dries-mertens-belgie-voetbalshirt.html. A minute before Mertesacker scored his fourth international goal, Hart pulled off a one-handed save to thwart another header from the defender. "We knew set-pieces would be a danger, they had some big players and we were a small team tonight," Hodgson said. Hart wasnt at fault for the goal, with England too porous as Mertesacker evaded Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling to head home. "Per definitely organized our defence -- he has turned out to be a pillar of strength -- literally speaking in terms of his height," Loew said, praising Mertesackers agility and ball distribution. He helped to ensure England was largely restricted to striking from distance, with captain Steven Gerrard sending the ball onto the roof of the net just before half time. Four minutes into the second half, a fine save from Hart kept out Marco Reus fierce strike after Mario Gotze skipped through the home defence with ease. Mertesacker was left in space again to try again with his head, but nodded over from a corner, while a low save from Hart pushed away Gotzes effort. "I was annoyed at times because we really squandered our chances -- many of them -- when we should have extended our lead much earlier," Loew said. "Especially when England were open in defence, we should have scored that second goal." There were eight changes from the Germany lineup which drew with Italy on Friday as Loew took the friendly as the last chance to experiment, with big names including Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Ozil and captain Philipp Lahm absent. But the international year ahead of the World Cup ended for Germany just as it had begun against France -- with an away win. "I can approach 2014 with a sense of quiet confidence," Loew said. "Many of the players who I wanted to test here today can be proud to have withstood the pressure of playing against such a great crowd." Cheap JerseysWholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
The Ottawa Redblacks are making a play for coveted slotback Weston Dressler. Nike Air Presto Safari . Redblacks general manager Marcel Desjardins said Wednesday he has made a contract offer to the former Saskatchewan Roughriders star, who cleared NFL waivers Tuesday after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs. Desjardins added he hasnt immediately heard back from Dresslers camp and wasnt sure when he would. "Weve made an offer and thats pretty much where its at," Desjardins said. Ottawa isnt the only team to have made a pitch to Dressler. A CFL source requesting anonymity said Saskatchewan has also offered him a deal. Justin Seurer, Dresslers agent, did not immediately return telephone messages. Desjardins wouldnt divulge contract details but there are reports the Redblacks offer was worth $250,000 annually. The Riders released Dressler, 29, in January -- roughly two weeks before he was scheduled to become a CFL free agent -- so he could explore his options south of the border. Shortly after working out for the Chiefs, Dressler signed with the NFL club and donned No. 13 in honour of Saskatchewans rabid football fans, affectionately dubbed the 13th Man. The five-foot-eight, 179-pound native of Bismarck, N.D., spent his entire six-year CFL career with Saskatchewan, registering 442 catches for 6,531 yards and 43 TDs. He surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving plateau five times, including the last four years. Dressler had five catches for a game-high 81 yards and a TD in Saskatchewans 45-23 Grey Cup victory over Hamilton last November at Reginas Mosaic Stadium. A two-time all-star, Dressler was the CFLs top rookie in 2008. Dressler appeared in three exhibition games with Kansas City, recording a 19-yard kickoff return. Desjardins said Dressler would definitely improve the Redblacks offence -- which is ranked second-last in scoring (15.8 points per game) and yards (291.8 per game) -- while also helping the franchise in the community. "He brings ability on the field, ability off the field in terms of leadership skills and the type of person he is and the character he has," Desjardins said. "Hed be a tremendous asset to the Redblacks. "The football side of it, I think, is pretty self explanatory but hed bring us a true weapon." And the more weapons the better for Ottawa (1-7), which enters weekend action just four points behind the first-place Toronto Argonauts (3-6) in the East Division. As an unrestricted free agent, Dressler is free to join ay CFL team and there are reports as many as five are interested in the veteran receiver. And with the leagues salary cap increasing to $5 million this year, that could give clubs more money to try and entice Dressler. And Desjardins doesnt think Dressler will wait long to decide his CFL future. "My sense of it, based on what I talked to him about the other day was towards the end of the week," Desjardins said. "But that was more a sense than him actually saying it." Nike Air Max 90 Goedkoop Bestellen. ORLANDO, Fla. http://www.airmax90rosefluo.fr/nike-air-max-90-noir-flurorescent-verte-homme-femme-tiger-skin-print-baskets.html . -- The Dallas Mavericks demonstrated the value of experience and consistency to the Orlando Magic. The veteran Mavericks made all the right plays at all the right times against a young, careless Magic team, beating Orlando 108-100 behind 19 points and eight assists from Monta Ellis, who had plenty of help. Dirk Nowitzki chipped in 18 points and a game-deciding 3-pointer to turn back the last Magic attempt at rallying from a 15-point first-half deficit. Reserve forward DeJuan Blair also scored 18 and made 4 of 6 free-throw attempts when the Magic intentionally fouled him late in the game to expose his 41.2 per cent free throw shooting. Vince Carter, another veteran reserve, added 12 points as the Mavericks reserves outscored Orlandos 43-25. Shawn Marion and Jose Calderon had 11 apiece and Calderon added nine assists. "We had a lot of guys play well," Dallas Coach Rick Carlisle said. "Weve got to do it collectively. Its not going to be the one superstar putting the team on his back. Its going to be all of us going together." Dallas had only 10 turnovers for the game, compared to 19 for Orlando. The Mavericks scored 22 points off Orlandos mistakes. "Were sharing the wealth out there and its starting to show," Marion said. "We had some lapses on defence, but going to have those. The more we cut down on turnovers and value each possession, good things are going to happen to us." Rookie point guard Victor Oladipo had a career-worst nine turnovers, four of them in the fourth quarter. His back-to-back turnovers, when the Magic had cut the deficit to 91-87 with six minutes left in the game, effectively blunted Orlandos attempt to overtake Dallas. "I just have to perform better in those circumstances," said Oladipo, the second pick in the June draft. "It was a close game and I have to learn to execute in those times. Most of it, really, is on me." Oladipo played the entire fourth quarter, despite starter Jameer Nelson being healthy and having a good game with 15 points, one assist and one turnover. Nelson didnt play in the final 17 minutes of the game. "If we didnt have those turnovers down the stretch, maybe the game could have been different," Magic Coach Jacque Vaughn said. "Those are the details well continue to work on. We need to learn to value the basketball whether its the first quarter or the fourth quarter." Arron Afflalo led the Magic with 25 points and Nikola Vucevic added 16 and eight rebounds. Oladipo had 10 points and six assists to go with his nine turnovers. Dallas shot 51.2 per cent in the game, but lost that and nearly every other statistical battle. The Magic shot 52.9 per cent for the game and outrebounded Dallas 40-30. "We played sensibly," Carlisle said. "None of us are going to get too far ahead of ourselves. Weve done some good things and its really important that we just stay focused." The game started as a jump-shooting contest with both sides hitting better than 50 per cent most of the first quarter and trading baskets with little interruption. There were six lead changes and six ties before the Mavericks went on an 11-0 run near the end of the period to take a 31-24 lead. Dallas finished the period 13 of 26, and didnt have a layup until back-to-back fast breaks in the final minute of the period. The Mavs shot even better in the second period -- 59.5 per cent -- but nearly all of those came around the rim as Orlandos sloppy passing and turnovers led to fast-break opportunities. Dallas stretched its lead to 15 on a jump-hook from Blair in the lane and settled for a 59-46 halftime lead. Orlando made it easier with 10 turnovers, four by Oladipo, that the Mavericks turned into 15 points. The Mavericks hit their first five shots in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers from Nowitzki, but couldnt get any separation because they also turned the ball over three times. That allowed the Magic to pull within 81-74 on a dunk by Oladipo with 3:39 left in the period. The teams traded baskets the rest of the way and Dallas finished the quarter with an 87-80 lead. NOTES: Kyle OQuinn, the Magics backup C, sat out the game with a sprained ankle. F Solomon Jones was activated after missing seven games with a torn meniscus. He played eight minutes and scored two points. . Ellis is the Mavericks leading scorer this season at 22.2 a game. If he remains there, he would be the first Maverick other than Nowitzki to lead the team in scoring since Michael Finley in the 1999-2000 season. . Magic F Andrew Nicholson has gone 0 for 10 on 3-pointers over the last six games. PORTLAND, Ore. Lance Parrish Jersey . -- Trail Blazers centre Greg Oden underwent an arthroscopic procedure to "remove debris" from his right knee, his fourth surgery since Portland selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft, the team said. The often-injured seven-footer had microfracture surgery on the same knee before the start of his rookie season, forcing him to postpone his NBA debut for a year. Since then, Oden has appeared in just 82 career games for the Blazers, averaging 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds. Oden hasnt appeared in a game for the Blazers in two years. He also underwent surgery for a fractured kneecap in late 2009, then early last season he had microfracture surgery on his left knee. The latest procedure took place Friday afternoon in Vail, Colo. The Blazers said it was successful and that Oden remains out indefinitely. It was expected that he might be able to play for the Blazers this season, but a checkup before the start of training camp in December reportedly revealed concerns about a non-weight-bearing ligament in the left knee, further setting back his rehabilitation. Since then, he has turned down repeated interview requests. Oden was a restricted free agent heading into this season. The Blazers and Oden initially agreed to an US$8.9 million qualifying offer for this year, but when the setback was announced the two sides restructured the deal, which was dropped to $1.5 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent following this season. Oden was selected over Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant with the top pick in the 2007 draft. The Blazers believed the former Ohio State star could lead the team -- along with Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge -- to an NBA championship. But the trio has seen only scant playing time together, and Roy, a three-time all-star, abruptly retired before the start of this season because of his own ongoing knee issues. VIERA, Fla. http://www.authenticmarinersgear.com/adam-lind-mariners-jersey/ . - The Detroit Tigers will start the season without Jose Iglesias, though just how long the injured shortstop is sidelined will not be known until after he sees a foot and ankle specialist on Tuesday. General manager Dave Dombrowski announced Sunday that Iglesias will start the season on the disabled list because of painful condition in both shins that affects him when he tries to decelerate. Iglesias will see Dr. Thomas Clanton of the Steadman Clinic in Colorado on Tuesday, and could possibly see another doctor after that, though Dombrowski did not say who that may be. "Weve done a lot of different tests, hes seen a lot of different doctors," Dombrowski said. "Weve sent his information to a lot of doctors. A lot of times, the analysis changed. However, the pain has not disappeared from him." Iglesias, acquired from Boston in a three-team trade, is considered a potential Gold Glove defensive infielder. Dombrowski said the 24-year-old Iglesias dealt with the same injury last season, but it did not get better over the off-season and it has bothered him more this spring. Both Dombrowski and manager Brad Ausmus said they had neither heard of, nor seen, a player experience this type of injury. What makes it so frustrating is that Iglesias can do a lot of physical activity without pain. "If you asked him to go take batting practice right now, or take infield, you would not even be able to really tell there is a problem," Dombrowski said. "But it hurts him when he starts to stop running." Ausmus said he noticed there was something wrong with Iglesias during the teams spring opener against Atlanta on Feb. 26. Iglesias hasnt played since. "I could tell when he ran something was bothering him," Ausmus said. ". Almost like he was running on glass." There has been speculation Iglesias could miss significant time, but Dombrowski said there is simply no way to tell how long the shortstop will be out until the true nature of the injury is diagnosed. Dombrowski did not completely rule out the possibility of making a move. He said he had already heard from two teams once word about the potential seriousness of Iglesias injury broke but plans to look at three internal candidates to fill the shortstop spot: Eugenio Suarez, Hernan Perez and Danny Worth. Defensive ability will be a key factor. "Ive watched them enough to have a pecking order, but I havent watched them enough to have a final decision," Ausmus said. http://www.authenticmarinersgear.com/hisashi-iwakuma-mariners-jersey/ . - Albert Pujols departure from the St.http://www.authenticmarinersgear.com/taijuan-walker-mariners-jersey/ . CALGARY -- Pierre Lavertu has an experienced, successful guide on the Calgary Stampeders offensive line. Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid Jersey . Brett Jones was fresh out of university at Calgarys training camp a year ago. The centre from Weyburn, Sask., went on to become the first offensive lineman to be named the Canadian Football Leagues most outstanding rookie. The Stampeders hope Lavertu is also a quick study. Calgary swung a draft-day deal with Ottawa to make the Laval athlete the first overall pick May 13. The 24-year-old from Quebec City played centre for the Rouge et Or, but with Jones so successful at that position in 2013, Lavertu has worked most of the pre-season at guard. Jones may be two years younger than Lavertu, but hes helping usher the older rookie into professional football. "Hes given me advice and helped me during meetings. He sits behind me," Lavertu said Tuesday at McMahon Stadium. "Brett is an inspiration for me because he did everything well. He has great technique, good footwork, he knows everything thats happening on the field." Jon Gott, who was dealt to the expansion Redblacks for the first pick in the draft, and the retired Dimitri Tsoumpas mentored Jones in his first year in the league, so Jones wants to pay it forward. "They just made sure I was welcomed into the group," Jones said. "Were known as a unit. I just want whats best for the offensive line." Lavertu, who is six foot three and 298 pounds, won three Vanier Cups and was a three-time CIS all-star with Laval. He was surprised Calgary drafted him because of Jones, but Lavertu is also excited at the prospect of blocking for star running back Jon Cornish. "If they want me to play guard, Im going to play guard," Lavertu said. "Its the opportunity theyve given to me. Im going to take it and do the best I can to be successful at right guard. "We have Jon Cornish and a lot of good running backs. I love to run-block for him. When you run the ball like that and control the clock like that, you are going to win." Lavertu played right guard in the first half and returned to centre for the second when Jones came out of Saturdays pre-season win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Calgary rushed for 193 yards in a 23-20 victory. The Stampeders are in Vancouver to face the Lions in another pre-season game Friday. Calgary hosts Montreal in their regular-season opener June 28. As Jones did, Lavertu must adapt to the quicker pace of the pro game as well the calibre of the oppositions defensive line. "Theres a lot more things hes responsible for and the talent hes going against every play is equal (to him) or better," Calgary offensive line coach Pat DelMonaco said. "You have to factor in some of them have five, six or seven years of experience." The six-foot-two, 321-pound Jones says Lavertu makes the same errors he did in his early days as a Stampeder. "I made a ton of mistakes," Jones said. "Youre going to make mistakes and its just not making the same mistake twice. "Hes doing great. This offence isnt that easy. You can just see hes making those changes and just making those improvements to get better. Whenever he gets a chance to play, Im excited to play beside him and hope the best for him." Mateo Kovacic Real Madrid Jersey . -- Michael Phelps has competed in the second event of his comeback and failed to advance to the 50-meter freestyle final. Fernando Pacheco Real Madrid Jersey . -- Rick Pitino switched from coach to lobbyist the moment his Louisville Cardinals won their third straight conference tournament title.NEWARK – The Maple Leafs are teetering on the edge of another late season collapse. Five straight losses (and six in the past seven) now dot the schedule – matching their longest skid of the year – after they fell again in New Jersey on Sunday night, topped 3-2 by Cory Schneider and the Devils. Playoff fortunes that once appeared secure have slipped into a more precarious state with a troubling tumble in the past week. All-too-recently fighting for second spot in the Atlantic division, Toronto has fallen to the edge of the playoffs, now in the second wild card position – mere inches ahead of Washington and Columbus – with only nine games to play. “The bottom line,” said head coach Randy Carlyle after the latest loss, “is its a results-orientated sport and we have to find a way to stop the bleeding here and do everything in our power to regroup with this hockey club and get them playing to a higher level.” If not playing entirely badly these days, the Leafs are doing just enough to lose, be it through sluggish starts, highly visible defensive breakdowns, and ordinary goaltending. On this night they fell behind for the seventh straight game, allowed a pair of goals via odd-man rush and breakaway, and had their backup goaltender struggle again to come up with a timely save. “I dont think were playing that bad,” said Phil Kessel, who scored his 36th of the year in defeat, crashing into the goal-post in doing so. “[But] its a tough stretch Ill tell you that much.” Tough stretch, indeed. It was only 11 days earlier, after James Reimer stole victory in Los Angeles, that the Leafs appeared in prime position for their second straight playoff spring. They sat three points up on the Lightning and Canadiens, 10 on the Capitals, nine on the Red Wings, seven on the Flyers, and six on the Rangers and Blue Jackets. Five of the seven has since passed them over, only Columbus and Washington trailing – just barely, mind you, with games in hand. Its been a remarkable spiral in a very short window, different in that way from the infamous 18-wheeler collapse of 2012 which cost Ron Wilson his job. The Leafs couldnt emerge unscathed from that storm, but can they find a way out of this one? Pressure is building, time is ticking, and the race is kicking into high gear with the Blues, Flyers and Wings all on deck in the coming week. Concern was evident as they exited the visitors dressing room, one by one at Prudential Center, keen to the reality of whats at stake. “We lost five in a row here right so its building here,” said Kessel of the pressure. “Obviously we need some wins.” Five Points 1. The Struggle Continues His confidence all but shattered at this point, Reimer was yanked for the sixth time this season. He yielded three goals on 10 shots, his save percentage in relief of the injured Jonathan Bernier dipping to .889 in six appearances. The 26-year-old has not won a start in more than two months (Jan. 21). Of that sunken confidence, Reimer concurred. “Its never high after a loss obviously and getting pulled,” he said. “[But] as crazy as it sounds I know Im becoming a better goalie and obviously a better person.” Ever the optimist, Reimer explained why. “Its been a ton of adversity in many different forms,” he said. “And so when you can weather it and keep your chin up you just get better.” Appearing in just his fifth NHL game, Drew MacIntyre stopped all 14 shots he faced in place of Reimer. Where that leaves the Leafs crease with St. Louis on deck is unclear. Carlyle didnt know if Bernier (groin) would be available for the Tuesday affair. If hes not for the sixth straight game, its not hard to envision MacIntyre getting his first NHL start. 2. Finger Pointing The Leafs have been a poor defensive team all year, requiring fantastic goaltending most nights from Bernier to have success. Theyve not gotten such heroics in relief with Reimer. His days in Toronto soon to be numbered, Reimer could not fend off an odd-man rush late in the opening frame – Morgan Rielly caught up ice, Nazem Kadri stuck on a bad line change – beaten glove-side by Damien Brunner. Faked out by Patrik Elias when he snuck behind the defence on the second Devils goal, Reimer then yielded a late squeaker that ultimately drove the hook from Carlyle. “We havent helped him out one bit,” said Tyler Bozak, charged in his defence of Reimer. “Obviously its easy to pick on the goalie when things are going bad for a team. But its a team game. We win and lose as a team. We havent been playing near well enough to win games. It hasnt been him at all.” “Usually in this type of playoff atmosphere youve got to find a way to knuckle down and play a tighter brand of defensive hockey,” Carlyle ssaid. Isco Jersey. “We seem to be able to give up those opportunities early and then we seem to tighten up as the game goes on.” 3. Season Gone Wrong Just a night before his first game back in New Jersey as a member of the Leafs, David Clarkson barely saw the ice. He played just eight minutes and 54 seconds in the 4-3 loss to Montreal, his lowest total (save for injury) since Nov. 5, 2010. A season gone wrong has seen no signs of let-up for the 29-year-old, who left the Devils last summer for a seven-year deal with the Leafs worth more than $36 million. From suspension to injuries to suspension to struggles to find a role, Clarkson has had few, if any, positives this season. “The way this years gone I could never imagine it,” said Clarkson, before facing his former team. His four goals and 10 points are matched by Dave Bolland, who missed nearly five months with an ankle injury, and Troy Bodie, who has garnered half the ice-time in 13 fewer games. Barring an unforeseeable late season surge, Clarkson would set career-lows in goals, points and shooting percentage (he missed 21 games) – his previous low for points coming in the 2010-11 season when he posted just 18 in 82 games, including only two on the power-play. And if there is one similarity to that year in Jersey to his first in Toronto its the power-play and his opportunity on it. When Clarkson exploded for 45 goals and 70 points in the two seasons which preceded his signing in Toronto he did so in large part because of the power-play. About a third of his production came that way in fact, the Mimico native totaling 14 power-play goals (31 per cent of the total) and 24 power-play points (34 per cent). His ice-time had not surprisingly sky-rocketed from where it had been previously (up to nearly four minutes per game a year ago). This season, that opportunity has tumbled back downward. Buried behind the more skilled likes of Kessel, van Riemsdyk, Bozak, Kadri, Lupul and Raymond, Clarkson has rarely seen the power-play – about 54 minutes total – and thusly has just two points from it. Combine that with a considerable drop in shot attempts and shooting percentage, far less crash and bang and an unending search for a clear-cut role and the season has simply evolved into a nightmare for the former Devil. He played 10 minutes on this night, stuck without a point for the 22nd time in the past 24 games. 4. Falling Behind When Brunner beat Reimer he gave the Devils a 1-0 lead and handed the Leafs their seventh straight deficit to start a game. They fell behind 2-0 for the fifth time in those seven games when Elias snuck by Rielly at the Toronto blue-line before faking out Reimer on the breakaway goal. Sluggish starts continue to be a problem for the Leafs. “Weve been playing from behind a lot lately and just been running out of time I guess you could say,” said Bozak. “Gotta have better starts and try and get a lead early.” The Leafs are now 8-19-4 when they trail after a period and 11-23-4 when their opponent scores first. Bozak and Kessel scored to slice the 3-0 deficit to one, but like their failed comebacks in each of the previous four losses, it was not enough. “Theres no easy way when youre down three on the road to think that youre going to consistently come back in the hockey game,” said Carlyle. 5. JVR Accountability Speaking after the game, James van Riemsdyk made sure to shoulder some of the blame personally for the Leafs failings. Though he had five shots and multiple opportunities on Schneider in a career-high 26 minutes, van Riemsdyk failed to score for the 10th time in the past 11 games. “Its my job to score goals and obviously right now its not good enough,” he said unprovoked on the subject. “Were not winning games, Im not scoring goals, and Ill have to be better.” Stats-Pack 1-6-0 – Leafs record in their past seven games. 7 – Consecutive games in which the Leafs allowed the first goal. 8-19-4 – Leafs record this season when trailing after the first period. 1 – Goal for James van Riemsdyk in the past 11 games. 10:00 – Ice-time for David Clarkson in his first game back to New Jersey. 26:14 – Ice-time for van Riemsdyk, a career-high. 36 – Goals for Phil Kessel, one off matching a career-high. .889 – Save percentage for James Reimer in place of Jonathan Bernier (six appearances). Special Teams Capsule PP: 1-4 Season: 20.8% (T-3rd) PK: 2-2 Season: 78.7% (28th) Quote of the Night “I think everyones just got to relax a little bit and give him some breathing space because we know James is a great goaltender.” - Nazem Kadri, on recent criticism of James Reimer. COLUMBUS, Ohio -- While the Blue Jackets remain wildly inconsistent, the Predators are rounding into form at the quarter mark of the season. http://www.adizxflux-fr.com/men-femme-originals-adidas-superstar-lite-gs-rouge-chaussures.html . Rookie goalie Marek Mazanec made 19 saves for his second shutout, and Matt Cullen and Nick Spaling each had a goal and an assist as streaking Nashville beat Columbus 4-0 on Wednesday night. Nashville coach Barry Trotz likes his teams recent level of commitment and attention to detail. "It was a pretty easy night for him," Trotz said, referring to Mazanec. "It was sort of a team win. You need to make a couple of saves when needed and he did." Mike Fisher and David Legwand also scored for Nashville, which has found its groove on the heels of a four-game losing streak. Mazanec, filling in while Pekka Rinne recovers from a hip injury, earned his fifth win -- all in the last six games. "He was very steady out there," Ryan Ellis said. "I think our team overall played very strongly." The Predators improved to 11-1-2 when scoring first and 9-0-1 when leading after the opening period. Columbus was back home after a 3-2 trip through Canada. The Blue Jackets had hoped to build on the momentum of a 6-0 victory Monday against Toronto, but instead they have alternated wins and losses for six games and still find themselves searching for the type of balanced, hard-nosed play from late last season that nearly propelled them into the playoffs. "Some of it is leadership, youth," coach Todd Richards said. "There are lots of things that add to it. Its tough to just point and say this is the reason for the inconsistency." The switch to the Eastern Conference this season didnt change Columbus fortunes against its former Central Divisional rival. Except for last season, the Predators have mostly dominated the series, and they again controlled the play in this one. "It looked like we lacked some energy, another step," Richards said. "Thats not an excuse. Youve got to find a way." Poor defence was a culprit for Columbus, while Nashville pressed the entire game. "I thought we started off really well," Trotz said. "We stayed to the game plan. We managed the puck, played smart, played fast early." Cullen made it 1-0 with his fifth goal at 9:58 of the first from the edge of the right circle, scoring on a slick pass from Ellis. "To fake the shot and hit me through the seam, not a lot of D-men will make that play," Cullen said. The Blue Jackets were outshot 14-4 in the period, with their best chance coming off Matt Calverts stick in tight. Mazanec turned it aside. On a power play that carried into the second period, Fisher beat two Blue Jackets players to a bouncing puck in the slot and smacked it past Sergei Bobrovsky for his fifth goal 54 seconds in. It was Nashvilles first shot of the period. Later in the period, the Predators won battles behind the net and one for a puck in the slot. This time it was Legwand scoring his fifth to make it 3-0. "We just didnt have the energy level," Columbus James Wisniewski said. "I think we worked. We just didnt have that little extra gear to win that little extra battle." The home crowd later booed the Blue Jackets on a lacklustre power play. Spaling scored his fourth goal from the hash marks on a nice feed from Cullen at 2:02 of the third. "Cullens got a great head for the game and creates a lot of offence," Spaling said. Mayo made seven three-pointers and scored 25 points, Ersan Ilyasova added 20, and the Milwaukee Bucks placed seven players in double figures in a 130-110 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers, who lost their 11th straight game on Monday night. Ramon Sessions had 16 points, Khris Middleton and Brandon Knight scored 15 each, and Giannis Antetokounmpo posted 13 for the Bucks (11-45), who own the NBAs worst record. John Henson chipped in 12 points for the Bucks, who had their highest scoring game of the season. Philadelphia (15-42), which owns the leagues second worst record, has lost 21 of 24 and 10 straight at home. It is the clubs longest skid since a 12-game losing streak during the 1996-97 season. Thaddeus Young led the 76ers with 28 points, Michael Carter-Williams added 20, Tony Wroten had 19, and James Anderson scored 13. The Bucks had lost two in a row, 21 of 24, and 10 straight on the road. Their last away victory was against the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 31, 2013. Milwaukee still hasnt won back-to-back games this season. Only 12,216 were in attendance for this one. It got worse as the Bucks lead swelled to 33 points in the third quarter. Mayo made his first five three-point attempts. His sixth turned into a four-point play with 3.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter, giving the Bucks a 106-76 advantage. The Sixers had 11 available players, including guard Eric Maynor and centres Henry Sims and Byron Mullens. But the biggest name from their four deals before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday was inactive.
