MIAMI -- Todd Frazier had a season-high four hits Sunday, including three on one good foot. http://www.officialauthenticraidersstore.com/authentic-menelik-watson-jersey.html . Frazier hobbled after being spiked on his left foot on a play at first base in the third inning, but he stayed in the game to help the Cincinnati Reds break out of an offensive slump and beat the Miami Marlins 7-3. Afterward, Frazier was smiling even though he said his foot was throbbing. The Reds improved to 5-11 since the All-Star break and scored more than five runs for the first time during that stretch. "Everybody did a good job manufacturing runs," Frazier said. "We were hitting singles. We do have the power, but it goes to show you that we know how to get runs in doing little stuff." Cincinnati totalled 15 hits, all but one a single. Billy Hamilton scored three times and Devin Mesoraco hit a two-run single as the Reds built a 7-1 advantage -- the sort of cushion unfamiliar to them lately. "It was great to get the separation and build the lead," manager Bryan Price said. "Its nice to have some wiggle room. Its a lot more fun." Mike Leake (9-9) struggled with his control but allowed only one run in six innings to help the Reds take three of four games in Miami. They are 4 1/2 games behind NL Central leader Milwaukee. "Were still in this," Leake said. "Weve still got a chance. Its up to us if we want to bear down and make it good year, or we want to throw it in." The Marlins managed only eight runs and 24 hits in the series, and theyve lost to Cincinnati in eight of their past nine games. Jacob Turner (4-7), starting in place of injured right-hander Henderson Alvarez, allowed five runs in four innings. That hiked his ERA to 5.97. "I just couldnt locate the fastball," Turner said. "I left too many pitches over the middle. When youre doing that on 2-0 counts, its a tough way to pitch." Zack Cozarts two-out RBI single in the second put Cincinnati ahead. In the third inning, Hamilton and Jay Bruce each singled, stole second and scored. Bruce singled home Hamilton and scored on a double by Ryan Ludwick. Two-out, run-scoring singles by Hamilton and Frazier in the fourth made it 5-0. The Reds went 7 for 18 with runners in scoring position. Garrett Jones hit his 12th homer for the Marlins, who totalled five hits. They went 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position. A MIXED AFTERNOON Giancarlo Stanton, the NL leader in home runs and RBIs, struck out four times for the second Sunday in a row. But he also robbed Kristopher Negron of an RBI extra-base hit when he made a long run for an over-the-shoulder catch near the right-field foul pole in the second inning. LEAKES DAY Leake improved to 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA in three career starts against Miami. He allowed only three hits but walked four. The right-hander escaped a bases-loaded, none-out jam in the third without allowing a run. Jordany Valdespin hit into a forceout, Stanton struck out and Casey McGehee grounded out. "Not my best stuff, but I was able to throw some pitches when I needed to," Leake said. TRAINERS ROOM First baseman Frazier found himself in an awkward position when he couldnt find the base with his left foot, and Valdespin stepped on it. "Im lucky -- he could have taken my ankle right out," Frazier said. "He had no room to get to the bag." Frazier came away limping, which earned him a visit from the trainer and Price. "With as many injuries as weve had over the course of the year, I said, boy, not one more," Price said. "We avoided disaster there." ON DECK The Reds open a four-game series at Cleveland on Monday when Alfredo Simon (12-6, 2.84 ERA) pitches against Corey Kluber (11-6, 2.61). Simon is 0-3 since his first All-Star selection. The Reds have lost their past nine games in Cleveland, and theyre 0-5 on the road against American League teams this year. The Marlins are off Monday and open a three-game series at Pittsburgh on Tuesday when Brad Hand (2-3, 4.15) pitches against Charlie Morton (5-10, 3.54). Miami has lost six consecutive games in Pittsburgh. http://www.officialauthenticraidersstore.com/authentic-darren-mcfadden-jersey.html . And that scorching performance kept right on going on the grand stage here in Sochi. Kessel scored once and added two assists as the Americans opened their bid at gold redemption with a 7-1 rout of Slovakia at Shayba Arena. "Hes on fire," said Leaf and American teammate James van Riemsdyk, who had two assists paired with Kessel and Joe Pavelski at the outset of the Olympic tournament. "The game I think is coming to him really easy right now. Hes working hard, creating a lot and he seems to be on fire." Kessel has been downright dominant since the calendar turned to 2014. The 26-year-old has a league-leading 28 points since Jan. 1 (John Tavares is second with 22), vaulting to fourth in NHL scoring with 65 points, also second behind Alex Ovechkin with 31 goals. Sizzling through the hottest stretch of his NHL career, he led the Leafs to 11 wins in 14 games before the Olympic break. "Hes a game-breaker, does a lot of things out there that a lot of guys cant do,&quoot; van Riemsdyk said of Kessel shortly after landing in Russia. http://www.officialauthenticraidersstore.com/authentic-george-blanda-jersey.html.  Kessel has, in one game mind you, exceeded the production he managed in totality at his first Olympics in Vancouver. Then just 22, he managed a mere two points (one goal, one assist) in six games as the US fell just short of gold, losing in overtime of the gold medal game. "Obviously that was a long time ago the last one," said Kessel of 2010. "Im a little older now." Dropping a pass to John Carlson for the games first goal, Kessel notched his first marker of the tournament on a doorstep feed from van Riemsdyk. He added a helper on the fourth American goal from David Backes. Van Riemsdyk, his linemate and roommate here in Sochi, fully expected to be nervous when his first-ever Olympic tilt kicked off, but said the nerves cooled being around the increasingly steady Kessel. "I dont know if he knows hes doing it, but he keeps it very light," said van Riemsdyk. "The bigger the stage, I think thats when his true colours come out. It shows how good of a player he can be." Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Brayan Pena only wanted to spark a rally. http://www.seahawksauthenticofficialonline.com/authentic-kj-wright-jersey.html . He wound up deciding the game. Penas second career pinch-homer started Cincinnatis big eighth-inning rally and swept the Reds over the Milwaukee Brewers 8-3 Thursday night. The Reds hit three homers in all as they pulled within 6 1/2 games of the NL Central leaders. Tucker Barnhart led off the fifth with his first career homer. Todd Frazier added a two-run drive in the sixth off Marco Estrada, who gave up six hits and four walks in six innings. Pena had homered during a 9-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night. He batted for Bailey with the score tied at 3 in the eighth and connected on the first pitch from Jim Henderson (2-1) for a two-run homer. "I was just thinking about driving the ball and hitting it hard somewhere," Pena said. "He got a pitch up and I was able to take advantage of it. I wasnt expecting a homer, but Ill take it." Cincinnati sent 11 batters to the plate while scoring five times during the inning against a bullpen that entered the series with the fourth-best ERA in the league. It had one very bad inning. "Theyre going to happen, no doubt," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "Weve been good down there. We just werent good tonight." Homer Bailey (2-2) allowed eight hits in a season-high eight innings, finally returning to form after missing much of spring training with a strained groin. "This game was good for all of us," Bailey said. "Were fixing to turn things around. Weve had a lot happen already this year. This one showed were starting to come together as a group." Milwaukee has lost back-to-back games for only the second time this season. The Brewers havent dropped more than two in a row. Cincinnati opened the four-game series with another injury. Leadoff hitter Billy Hamilton sprained knuckles on his left hand while making a diving catch in centre field and will miss a few games. Hamilton stretched all out to reach Carlos Gomezs line drive that opened the game. He grimaced and flexed his left hand and wrist as he got up. Chris Heisey hit for him in the bottom of the inning. Hamilton hurt the middle finger on his left hand while sliding into base during the opening week of the season and missed two games. "Unfortunately, its the same hand that he hurt in New York," manager Bryan Price said. "Were optimistic that hell only miss a day or two, but we wont know for a day or two." Gomez stole a hit from Joey Votto in the bottom of the first, catching his fly at the top of the wall in centre. Votto pointed two fingers toward Gomez, who also stole a potential go-ahead homer from him for the final out in Milwaukees 4-3 win last July 8. Jean Segura singled in a run in the second, and Gomez doubled home a pair of two-out runs to tie it 3-all in the seventh. Milwaukee got two players back in the lineup, but outfielder Ryan Braun missed his fifth game because of a strained oblique. Braun is expected back this weekend. Segura returned at shortstop after being out of the starting lineup for four games because of an injury to his face. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez was back after missing two games with a sore left elbow and went hitless, extending his slump to 0 for 25. Outfielder Logan Schafer is eligible to return from the disabled list on Saturday, recovered from a strained right hamstring. For now, Roenicke is using Mark Reynolds in right field, a position the infielder played during spring training. NOTES: RHP Wily Peralta (3-1) faces RHP Mike Leake (2-2) in the second game of the series. ... The Brewers called reliever Rob Wooten. Milwaukees bullpen has thrown the fifth-most innings in the majors. Utility player Elian Herrera was optioned to Triple-A. ... The Reds put LHP Tony Cingrani on the DL with a sore pitching shoulder. Reliever Curtis Partch was called up from Triple-A. ... Closer Aroldis Chapman made his first rehab appearance, throwing one inning and fanning two batters at Class A Dayton. Dwyane Wade is staying with the Miami Heat, and his latest deal is designed to give both the player and the only franchise hes ever known some flexibility in the coming years. Taijuan Walker Jersey . Wade signed a new contract with the Heat on Tuesday. Its a two-year deal, the second of those seasons a player option, said a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither side announced terms. "I am proud to have spent every single day of my career as a member of the Miami Heat and to have brought three championship titles to this great city," Wade said in a statement. "Ive been here through the good times and the hard times. I have confidence in the Miami Heat organization and the team they are building." Earlier Tuesday, Wade tweeted "Home Is Where The Heart Is... My Home,My City,My House" and attached a photo of himself standing below the three NBA championship banners that hang at Miamis home arena. Financial terms were not announced, though its expected Wades salary for next season will not reach the $20.2 million he would have made under his previous contract. Heat President Pat Riley confirmed that Wade again bought into the Heat mantra of sacrifice. The contract he signed four years ago left millions on the bargaining-room table, in part to make the deals with LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem happen. "Dwyane has been the franchise cornerstone for this team since the day he arrived 11 years ago," Riley said. "He has shown his commitment to the Heat many times over the course of his career and has always been willing to sacrifice in order to help build this team into a champion. This time is no different." Wades return was expected, yet still represents a huge win for Miami during free agency -- especially since it comes less than a week after James left the Heat after four seasons and returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers. So now, what was the "Big 3" is a "Big 2." Bosh is in the process of finishing a $118 million, five-year contract with Miami. Also Tuesday, the Heat signed Luol Deng to a two-year, $20 million deal, which was agreed to over the weekend. "Luol Deng is one of the most important free agent signings that we have ever had in the history of the franchise," Riley said. "He is a proven All-Star and quintessential team player, both as a scorer, as well as an All-NBA defender. He brings the attitude of a warrior and competes every single night against the very, very best." Miami also announced the signing of small forward James Ennis, who has been one of the teams summer-league standouts this year. Ennis was the 50th pick in the 2013 draft and spent last season playing in Australia. Wade is entering his 12th Heat season and is the franchises all-time leader in games, points, assists and steals. He and Haslem, who is also expected to complete a new two-year contract with Miami in the coming days, are the only players to appear on all three of the Heat teams that won NBA championships in 2006, 2012 and 2013. He was limited to 54 games last season, in large part because of a maintenance program designed to limit wear and tear on his knees. But when he was on the floor, he was effective -- shooting a career best 54.5 per cent and averaging 19.0 points. With James gone, Wade likely wont have the luxury of resting as much this season. Hes averaged 24.3 points for his career, 16th-best in NBA history and fifth-best among active players with at least seven seasons. And only seven other players in league history have as many points (17,481), rebounds (3,605), assists (4,301), steals (1,262) and blocked shots (696) as Wade has posted so far in his career. Wade could have lobbied for more money or insisted on more years. But the Heat are positioning themselves to have as much flexibility as possible in 2016, a similar approach to what brought the "Big 3" together in 2010, and Wades deal helps them greatly in that regard. Wade still has a hectic summer ahead. Theres an upcoming marriage to actress Gabrielle Union, the ongoing building projects at the home hes been remodeling for some time, and the annual fantasy camp that he hosts. His biggest order of business, however, is now complete. http://www.authenticmarinersgear.com/robinson-cano-mariners-jersey/ . Dee Gordon and Puig broke open a tie game with consecutive RBI doubles in the seventh, Matt Kemp homered in the eighth and the Dodgers beat the NL West-leading Giants 6-2 on Saturday. Robinson Cano Mariners Jersey . -- His voice cracking with emotion, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice acknowledged Friday that he "failed miserably" and apologized for the actions that led to his arrest on assault charges.PHILADELPHIA – Restructuring the Toronto defence was primary in the objectives of Maple Leafs management as they strode into the busiest stage of a lengthy offseason. And on the final day of draft weekend, they took the first step toward doing just that.  Carl Gunnarsson, selected with the 194th overall pick at the draft in Columbus seven years earlier, was dealt to St. Louis on Saturday morning for thick Czech defenceman and longtime Blue, Roman Polak. He is the first addition to a roster that promised to change following another late season meltdown. Adjustment to a mismatched and ineffective back-end was a must for the Leafs, who finished near the league basement defensively last season – yielding more shots against than any other club. Polak, while not an upgrade to the steady, but increasingly over-taxed Gunnarsson, does offer a different kind of presence to the Toronto defence, something brawnier and edgier for head coach Randy Carlyle, if not quite better. Gunnarsson, it was ultimately deemed, could be replaced on the top pairing with something similar internally. "We like our defence individually," general manager Dave Nonis said after the final round of the draft was completed on Saturday afternoon, "[but] we didnt necessarily like how they fit together last year. We wanted to move some pieces and change the look, rebuild it a little bit. I wouldnt say its a major overhaul by doing something like this, but it does give us a different element and its a player we didnt really have." Maybe more significant is how the trade promises to open up further opportunity for the clubs two top guns on defence: Morgan Rielly and Jake Gardiner. By removing Gunnarsson – who teamed with Dion Phaneuf on left side of the top pair – and adding the right-handed Polak, the Leafs opened up room for Rielly and Gardiner to become more prominent members of the defence. Rielly should move from a place on the bottom pair to something more substantial in the top-four. Gardiner, who led the team in even-strength ice-time, might be the one to replace Gunnarsson on the top pair. "Those guys are going to have to take steps forward," Nonis said of the promising duo. "It might be a lot to ask for Morgan a little bit in his second year, but he made some pretty big strides last year and we would expect that hell take some more next [year]. And I think Jake is a good possibility [of doing the same] as well." Left-handed shots, Rielly and Gardiner were both forced to play the right side often last season – nearly the entire season for the rookie – due to the rarity of right-handed defenders on the Toronto defence (Gardiner, specifically, struggled with the change and eventually had to move back to the left). The addition of the 6-foot-1, 227-pound Poolak will ease that glut and allow more options for Carlyle. Nelson Cruz Mariners Jersey. The Blues, who ranked third in the league defensively a year ago, employed Polak in shutdown capacities as well as on their second-ranked penalty kill. He was known in St. Louis as a fierce, physical competitor willing to play through injury. The 28-year-old, who has two years remaining on a five-year contract ($2.75 million cap hit), led the Blues defence in hits and finished second in blocked shots. "Hes a tough guy to play against," Nonis said of Polak, picked in the sixth round of 2004 Draft. "If you look at the minutes he plays he often plays against teams top players. He is very physical, hes very strong. I think theres a perception that because hes so big hes not mobile, I dont think thats true at all. We think that one of his strengths is his skating ability. Hes going to provide a little bit of edge." The fifth overall pick in 2012, Rielly had a fine first season in Toronto, demonstrating improvement with each passing month. He finished with 27 points in nearly 18 minutes of nightly work, emerging as one of the Leafs top possession players in 73 games. It remains to be seen whether he can climb another rung as a sophomore next season though the organization is certainly hopeful based on all that they saw a year ago. "We are hoping that he improves next year," said Nonis. "He may not. He might go through a year where hes not quite ready to go up the lineup, but were comfortable that hes going to get there and hes going to be an impact player and were going to give him an opportunity to do that." Gardiner, meanwhile, finished a rollercoaster third season on a high. He was easily the teams best defenceman down the stretch of another alarming late season collapse, totaling five goals and 14 points in the final 21 games. "Jakes going to have times where [the media] sitting below me in the press-box will hear me smacking on the wall, but the fact is hes got God-given ability that you just cant teach," Nonis said of the 23-year-old. "I think hes getting the other part of his game under control. The last half of the season the turnovers and some of the mistakes he was making earlier were decreasing … He did come a long way." Nonis expects the Leafs to be active at the outset of free agency on July 1st. He was inclined to add another defenceman to the mix, while stating his acceptance to the status quo if furthers upgrades were unavailable. Gunnarsson had mixed feelings after a five-year stay in Toronto. He received word of the trade shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday morning and was "kind of shocked". "I didnt expect it," he told TSN.ca, still piecing together the emotions of his first trade in the NHL. "Sucks leaving Toronto…its been great." Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork. Salvador Perez Grey Jersey .com) - Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves and the New York Rangers scored three goals during the third period en route to a 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Rick Nash, Mats Zuccarello and Dominic Moore each scored in the final stanza and Derick Brassard lit the lamp in a third straight game for the Rangers, who have won three straight games and 11 of their last 12. I think it comes down to execution, said Lundqvist. I really like the way we are playing. Francois Beauchemin scored on the power play and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 26- of-29 shots fired his way in his second start of the season as the Ducks were unable to build upon their 4-3 shootout win in Nashville on Sunday. We had a lot of bad turnovers tonight, Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau said. We gave them two goals. They were the better team and deserved to win. After a scoreless first period, Brassard moved in from the point towards the left circle and blasted a shot through the pads of Bryzgalov for a 1-0 Ducks lead 9:10 into the middle stanza. New York increased its lead 2:32 into the third as Kevin Klein took a failed clear from Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen and fired a shot on net. Nash tipped the puck, which fluttered off Bryzgalovs shoulder and into the net for a 2-0 game. After Derek Stepan took a delay of game penalty, Beauchemin fired a shot from the point that deflected off Rangers forward Carl Hagelin and over the blocker of Lundqvist for a one-goal game with 9:51 remaining. Zuccarello provided some breathing room after he intercepted an Anaheim pass at the right circle and fired a shot short side for a 3-1 lead with 5:33 to play. The Ducks pulled Bryzgalov in favor of an extra attacker with over two minutes remaining, but Moore quickly sent the puck into the empty net to account for the final score. Falloons goal at 15:01 of overtime sealed the Yorkton Terriers first RBC Cup championship with a 4-3 victory over the Carleton Place Canadians. He jammed in a rebound to cap Yorktons comeback from a 3-1 deficit with less than three minutes left in regulation time. "Its unbelievable. Its just the best feeling and I dont think Ill ever score a bigger goal than that for the rest of my life," said Falloon, 21, who has used up his junior eligibility. Falloons goal gave the Terriers their first Canadian Junior A championship in their fifth trip to the tournament. Yorkton placed second to the Burnaby Express, led by current Ottawa Senators centre Kyle Turris, in their last trip to the RBC Cup in Streetsville, Ont., in 2006. The Terriers had finished no better than third in their three other trips, all in the 1990s. The puck barely crossed the line as Carleton Place goaltender Guillaume Therien attempted to cover it. While the crowd waited, the referee confirmed it was a goal. After trailing 3-1 at the end of the second period, the Terriers forced overtime with goals from Tanner Lishchynsky and Dylan Johnson eight seconds apart in the last three minutes of the third period. Daylan Gatzke had Yorktons other goal and Kale Thompson made 31 saves. Anthony McVeigh, Stephen Baylis and Andy Sturtz scored for the Canadians while Therien stopped 42 shots in the losing effort. Falloons overtime winner was his second of the tournament. He also scored in extra time against Dauphin in the round robin. "I guess I just happened to be at the right place at the right time," said Falloon. "Im sure any of the boys could have (done) it. Lucky me, I guess." Falloon missed the first three games of this tournament with his third concussion of the season, suffered in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs. He missed most of the Western Canadian championship tournament, from which Yorkton qualified for the RBC Cup. Yorkton coach Don Chesney said Falloons return brought life to Yorktons lineup. "He has a flair for the dramatic," said Chesney. "I joked around (saying) his first (overtime goal) didnt make the back of the net. (The RBC Cup-winning) one, I think, made it -- maybe a few inches over the goal-line. But in 10, 20 years, thatll be the nicest goal he ever scored and the biggest goal he ever scored." Johnson also provided some drama as his tying goal, at 17:20 of the third period atoned for an interference penalty he took at 14:05. "To be honest, when we got that penalty with five minutes left, it was not looking too good, and they shut us down pretty good," said Chesney. "We didnt create a lot of high-quality scoring chances." Added Johnson: "That (goal) felt great, especially after getting that penalty a couple minutes before that. Getting that goal was unreal. It brought the life back into the fans. After we got that, we knew this was ours." Until then, the Canadians had a good reason to think they would claim the crown in their first RBC Cup appearance. "Looking back on it now, maybe I should have called a timeout after the second goal," said Carleton Place coach Jason Clarke. "But weve just been so resilient all year. Things didnt really seem to bother us." Baylis put the Canadians ahead 2-1 at 4:12 of the second period as he fired a shot from the slot after his teammates fought to keep the puck in at the blue-line along the boards with little space to work with. Sturtz increased the Carleton Place advantage midway through the second, stealing the puck from a Terrier in one corner and skating to the opposite side to put in a backhand. But just when it looked like the Canadians could begin to rest easy, Lishchynsky and Johnson sent the game to overtime, setting up Falloons special moment. "Were proud (of getting to the final), but its a sour taste, for sure," said Clarke. Falloon received advice from his cousin Pat Falloon, the former NHLer who was drafted second overall by the San Jose Sharks after Eric Lindros in 1991. "(Pat) was talking to my dad," said Falloon. "We family-farm with him (in Foxwarren, Man.) We keep in touch with him. He was texting my dad and telling me to keep calm and just do what I can do." The RBC Cup adds a second Canadian junior crown to the extended Falloon family. Pat Falloon won a Memorial Cup with the Spokane Chiefs in 1991, when he was named the tournaments most valuable player. "Ive heard stories," said the younger Falloon. Falloons hockey future is far from certain. He only knows how he will spend his summer. "Were just going to celebrate, and then Im going to go back (home)," he said. "Ive got to get to work on the farm." Now the brothers from West Vancouver hope to be teammates for Canada at the world junior championship.(SportsNetwork.com) - Drew Hutchison is coming off one of the best starts in his young career and will look to build on that when the Toronto Blue Jays battle the struggling Boston Red Sox in game two of their three game set at Fenway Park. Clay Buchholz will be on the mound for Boston who fell to Toronto 7-4 on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays have won six of eight while the Red Sox have dropped five in a row. Hutchison went the distance for his first shutout on Friday, defeating Texas, 2-0, while surrendering just three hits. Hes faced the Red Sox once, in Toronto, and won a 5-1 decision after pitching seven innings in June 2012. Buchholz was 12-1 in the turnaround 2013 season that yielded a World Series championship. Hes lost three of five decisions thus far in 2014 while posting an ugly 6.17 earned run average. In his last start, on Thursday at Minnesota, Buchholz gave up three runs in six innings in a game the Red Sox ultimately lost, 4-3, in 10 innings. He downed Toronto, 7-6, in April and is 10-5 in 18 career starts against the Blue Jays, though just two of tthose wins have come over seven starts in the series at Fenway Park. http://www.hockeydevilsshop.us/Travis-Zajac-Jersey/. On Tuesday, Edwin Encarnacion hit two of Torontos four home runs, accounting for four RBI, as the Blue Jays took down Boston in the opener. Melky Cabrera ended up 4-for-5 with a solo homer, two runs batted in and three scored for the Jays. Erik Kratz also went deep for the visitors. J.A. Happ (3-1) allowed four runs on seven hits while fanning six and walking two over five-plus innings. Casey Janssen worked out of a jam in the ninth for his fourth save. Jonny Gomes finished 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Red Sox. Dustin Pedroia and Jackie Bradley each drove in a run, too. Felix Doubront (2-4) was tagged in the setback for five hits and as many runs while not surviving the fifth inning. Boston took two of three from the Jays earlier in the year. Boston dropped a 7-4 decision in Tuesdays opener for its fifth straight loss. It hasnt lost six consecutive games since the end of 2012, when it closed the season with eight straight defeats. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Cheap JerseysCheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
The Chicago Blackhawks werent ready to give up on their dreams of winning consecutive Stanley Cup titles the last time out. Clayton Kershaw Jersey . The defending champions hope to stay alive for a second straight time tonight when they visit the Los Angeles Kings for Game 6 of the Western Conference Final. The Blackhawks are attempting to return to the Cup Finals after falling behind three games to one in this postseason battle against Los Angeles. The Kings, who lost in five games to Chicago in last springs conference finals, couldnt close out the Hawks in their first attempt on Wednesday, dropping a 5-4 double-overtime decision in the Windy City. Chicago, which is trying to become the first team to win consecutive titles since Detroit in 1997 and 98, improved to 8-1 as the host in these playoffs with the Game 5 triumph, but it will have to win its first road game of the series to keep on playing. The Kings won Game 3 at the Staples Center by a 4-3 score and pushed their series lead to 3-1 with a 5-2 decision Monday night in the City of Angels. All told, Los Angeles is 5-3 as the host this postseason and is 19-7 in home playoff games since the start of the 2012 playoffs, when the Kings won their only Stanley Cup title. If the Blackhawks win Friday the clubs will meet Sunday evening in Chicago for a decisive Game 7. Michal Handzus, a former L.A. King, provided the OT heroics for Chicago on Wednesday, scoring at 2:04 of the second overtime to send the series back to the Staples Center. Brandon Saad held the puck along the right wing below the circles and dished ahead to Handzus, who controlled the disc for a second before lifting a backhander under the crossbar to end the contest. "Two guys went on him and I got open,"Handzus said of his linemate Saad. "I was surprised I got open like that but he waited and waited and gave me a great pass." For Handzus, it was his first career postseason overtime score, and just his second playoff game-winner after recording the only goal in a 1-0 Flyers victory against Ottawa in the 2003 second round. Saad ended up with a goal and two assists for the Blackhawks, who wasted a pair of early two-goal leads and fell behind by a goal before rallying to extend the series. "We dont want the season to end now. Were having too much fun playing," Saad admitted. Brent Seabrook, Johnny Oduya and Ben Smith also scored, while Patrick Kane notched a career playoff-high four helpers for Chicago. Kane became the first Blackhawk to assist on four goals in one playoff game since Steve Larmer did so on April 30, 1990 in a Norris Division final-clinching 8-2 rout of the St. Louis Blues . Kane hasnt scored a goal since getting the OT winner and series clincher in Game 6 of Chicagos second-round series against Minnesota, but the reigning Conn Smythe winner has posted five assists over the last two games. Corey Crawford looked shaky at times, but emerged with the win thanks to 40 saves. On Thursdays off day, Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews talked about keeping the pressure on Los Angeles from the start of tonights battle. "Were going to work on getting our first win on the road against this team," said Toews. "We want to stay with the mentality, that were putting all the pressure on them. Its going to be tough for them to close it out and win that fourth game against us. We showed how resilient of a group we are last night. Were going to do it again." Dustin Brown, Marian Gaborik, Jarret Stoll and Tanner Pearson lit the lamp for L.A. Pearsons tally extended his point streak to six games, matching the Kings postseason record for a rookie along with Warren Rychel (1993) and Daryl Evans (1982). L.A. has the comfort of home ice on Friday to try and reach the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in the last three seasons, but the club knows the fourth win of a series can be extremely hard to come by. "If anyone thinks that its easy ... its not easy," Kings forward Justin Williams said of closing out an opponent in the third round. "Attaining your ultimate goal is never easy and were going to do our best to get it done." Jonathan Quick took the loss despite stopping 40 pucks. Kane had a hand in all three Blackhawk scores in the opening 20 minutes on Wednesday before notching the secondary assist on Handzus winner. However, after going up by scores of 2-0 and 3-1 in the opening period, the Blackhawks found themselves down 4-3 heading into the final stanza of regulation, but Smith scored early in the third to even things. Saad fired a low shot from the left wing that was kicked aside by Quick, but Smith beat his checker and potted the rebound for a 4-4 game just 77 seconds into the third period. The Blackhawks had a prime chance to win in regulation when Stoll committed a tripping infraction with 3:11 on the clock. Quick made two acrobatic stops, one from Kane and the rebound on Bryan Bickell early in the advantage and added two more before its completion. Acting on adrenaline and instinct, the first overtime featured a dozen quality chances split between the clubs. Los Angeles claimed a 10-8 shot edge in a briskly-paced fourth period. "Overtime, Ive seen a lot of games, been involved in a lot of those," said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. "That might have been the greatest overtime Ive seen." The Blackhawks have come back from down 3-1 to win a series only once in their history, but it was last spring against Detroit, which won three of the first four games against Chicago in the Western Conference semifinals before losing the final three tilts. The Blackhawks also needed to win Game 7 in overtime to down the Red Wings. Eric Hosmer Jersey . Serena dropped the first set before rallying to top rising 24th-seeded Spaniard Garbine Muguruza 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in two hours at Melbourne Park. Muguruza stunned Serena at the French Open last year, handing the American, who won just four games in that match in Paris, the worst loss of her Grand Slam career in the process. The 33-year-old American great blitzed her 21-year-old opponent with 17 aces and won 38 of 49 first-serve points on Monday. It was a great match -- congratulations to Garbine, she played so well, Serena said. The 18-time Grand Slam champion and reigning U.S. Open titlist owns five Aussie Open titles, but none since 2010. Her quarterfinal opponent will be 11th-seeded Slovak Dominika Cibulkova, who doused on-the-mend Belarusian star Victoria Azarenka, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Azarenka led 2-0 in the third set, but couldnt hold on against the diminutive Cibulkova. Today I wasnt thinking about the score, I was just going for it, Cibulkova said. And when I was up, I was going for it even more. I always have tough matches with Vika. The tennis she plays goes well with mine, Cibulkova added. Cibulkova was last years Aussie runner-up to since-retired Chinese star Li Na. The former world No. 1 Azarenka is a two-time Aussie Open champ and two-time U.S. Open runner-up. Her 2014 season was interrupted by a foot injury and shes been trying to re-locate her game since last spring. This marks Azarenkas earliest exit from the Aussie since 2011. I take it as progress. I think there are a lot of the positive things to take from here, she said. Overall, I can be pretty happy. In other fourth round action on Dayy 8 of the fortnight, an 18th-seeded Venus remained undefeated in 2015 by surprising sixth-seeded former Wimbledon runner-up Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 and rising Madison Keys vanquished fellow American Madison Brengle 6-2, 6-4. Kevin Love White Jersey. . The 34-year-old Venus was asked what her inspiration has been to keep plugging away all these years. Definitely my sister Serena, she replied. Shes just the ultimate champion. She definitely gives me a lot of inspiration. And of course all of my fans, whove always stayed behind me. Keys will play in her first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal when she faces Venus. It feels really good, she said. My mom texted me before the tournament. She said, Its your last Grand Slam as a teenager, and sent me a bunch of grandma faces. Im like, Thanks for reminding me mom! Thank you. Love you. But its huge. Its my last Slam as a teenager. I hope I can keep it up. The Chicago Blackhawks got out to a good start, with captain Jonathan Toews burying a couple of first-period goals, but it was all Los Angeles after that, and the Kings took Game Three by a 4-3 score, taking a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference Final. Robinson Cano Green Jersey . Los Angeles attack was paced by Jeff Carter, who had a goal and two assists, giving him 19 points in 17 playoff games, one behind teammate Anze Kopitar for the league lead. Carter, along with rookie linemates Tanner Pearson (1 A in Game Three) and Tyler Toffoli (1 G in Game Three), has been a difference-maker in the series. While the Blackhawkw arent shy about playing Toews line head-to-head against Kopitars line, the Kings are getting the better of the other matchups, and none moreso than when Carter, Pearson and Toffoli take the ice. Through three games against Chicago, Carter has eight points (4 G, 4 A) overall and has been on for 46 shot attempts for and 30 against (60.5%) during 5-on-5 play. Its not only the Carter line getting it done for the Kings though. D Drew Doughty has been on top of his game, with a goal and an assist while playing a game-high 28:32 in Game Three giving him a dozen points in the postseason, tied with Montreals P.K. Subban for the lead among defencemen. Chicago is getting the best of the top line matchup, as Toews, Bryan Bickell and Marian Hossa had strong possession games in Game Three, with Hossa leading the way, with 76% of the even-strength shot attempts when he was on the ice. While the final score was close, the Blackhawks didnt really threaten once the Kings had the lead. Los Angeles controlled play in the third period, outshooting Chicago 18-7, and the Blackhawks managed to break through for a goal (by Patrick Sharp, his first point since Game Five vs. Minnesota) with four seconds remaining to make the final margin close. Blackhawks RW Patrick Kane had been held off the scoresheet in the series, which poses a real problem for the Blackhawks and further illustrates the advantage that the Kings are gaining through the production of Carters line. One challenge for the Blackhawks is that they are running Michal Handzus between Kane and Sharp on the second line and that unit was under 31% in possession terms in Game Three and, by the third period, Handzus was replaced by Ben Smith in that role. Andrew Shaw returned to the Blackhawks lineup and played 12:28. He didnt have any shots on goal, but tied Bickell with a game-high six hits. This has already been a hard-fought series, but the Blackhawks are now facing a difficult situation, down two games to one, with Game Four in Los Angeles. If the Blackhawks are going to get back to even, they will need the supporting cast to contribute more. LOUIS -- Carlos Beltran was unaware that he had gone a season-long 24 games without a home run. "I dont think about things like that," he said. "Its not about homers. Its about helping the team." Beltran ended his drought with a tiebreaking shot, Adam Wainwright earned his 18th win and the St. Louis Cardinals beat Washington 4-3, eliminating the Nationals from playoff contention. Looking for their first NL Central title since 2009, the Cardinals maintained a two-game lead over Cincinnati and Pittsburgh with five to play. All three teams are headed to the post-season. The Reds and Pirates both won Monday night, clinching at least a wild-card berth when Washington lost. St. Louis secured no worse than a wild card on Sunday. The Nationals won the NL East last season with 98 wins, but were eliminated by St. Louis in the division series. One year later, they were knocked out by the Cardinals again. "It doesnt feel too good," manager Davey Johnson said. "We gave it a good fight. We just came up short. "Now, were spoilers. So its not over for us." Beltrans two-run homer in the fifth off rookie Tanner Roark broke a 2-all tie. It was his team-leading 24th of the season and first in 91 at-bats since Aug. 24. "The last thing I was thinking about there was a home run," Beltran said. "Ive been scuffling a little at the plate, but the way for that to go away is to keep playing and continue to swing the bat." Wainwright (18-9) gave up three runs and seven hits over seven-plus innings. He struck out five, giving him a career-high 214 on the season. "This was a great team win. Everybody did their part," Wainwright said. Jayson Werth hit a two-run homer on the 15th pitch of the game. Wainwright then retired nine in a row and allowed just one run on five hits the rest of the way. He moved into second in the NL in wins behind Washington right-hander Jordan Zimmermann, who has 19. "The first inning, sometimes great teams are going to put a couple runs together like that," Wainwright said. "The key is to keep pitching and limit the damage." St.Norichika Aoki Mariners Jersey. . Louis manager Mike Matheny was impressed with the way Wainwright bounced back from the slow start. "Its amazing that once he gets going, how different his stuff looks," Matheny said. "It doesnt matter what he looks like early, hes going to put it together." Trevor Rosenthal got two outs for his first career save. Roark (7-1) gave up four runs and five hits in five innings for his first loss in four starts. He went 45 2-3 innings before allowing his first home run. "I didnt have fastball command and I was getting behind hitters," Roark said. "If you do that against a good team, theyre going to hit your mistakes." Washington closed to 4-3 in the eighth on singles by Anthony Rendon and Steve Lombardozzi and a groundout from Ryan Zimmerman. St. Louis reliever Carlos Martinez got Werth to ground out with a runner in scoring position to end the threat. The Cardinals climbed within 2-1 on a run-scoring single by Yadier Molina in the first. They tied it on successive singles from David Freese, Daniel Descalso and Shane Robinson in the fourth. Robinson replaced Matt Holliday in the lineup. Holliday was a game-time scratch for the second night in a row due to back spasms. He is day to day. "He thought it was going to loosen up better than it did," Matheny said.
