The roster includes nine players who helped lead Canada to gold at the mens Summer Under-18 Team in 2013. Those players include Sam Bennett, ranked as the third-best prospect eligible for the upcoming NHL draft by Craig Button, and Haydn Fleury, ranked tenth on Craigs List. Bennett, however, is currently listed as one of three players injured and unable to attend training camp in Toronto. Buttons sixth-ranked prospect, Brendan Perlini, is also on the training camp roster. In total, the training camp roster features eight players from Western Hockey League, eight from the Ontario Hockey League and six from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. SALT LAKE CITY -- Gordon Hayward had 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to lead a balanced Utah Jazz offence in a 109-86 win over the slumping Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. http://www.airmax90bianche.it/air-max-90-kpu.html . Richard Jefferson scored 17 points and Diante Garrett had a career-high 15 points as the Jazz had seven players with 10 points or more in Utahs largest margin of victory this season. The Jazz shot 57.5 per cent from the field, the highest mark of any Phoenix opponent this season. Gerald Green had 17 points and rookie Archie Goodwin matched his career-best with 16 for the Suns. Playing their only road game in a nine-game stretch, the Suns have been looking to improve their playoff position. However, with a third straight loss, Phoenix leads Memphis by just one-half game the eighth and final Western Conference berth. Hayward, mired in a shooting slump (31 per cent in his previous 13 games), made plays all over the court in this one. Some fans chanted to put Hayward back in the game to get his first-ever triple-double. He just smiled as he watched the Jazz play the last 6:15 of the runaway win. Goran Dragic did not dress due to a sprained ankle and the Suns missed his playmaking abilities. Dragic twisted his right ankle in the third quarter in a loss to Minnesota on Tuesday and will have the injury re-evaluated on Thursday. Ish Smith had 13 points and five assists but the Jazz didnt respect his outside shooting and the defence wasnt spread like it would have been with Dragic. The Suns were 6 of 19 on 3-pointers. The Jazz turned a five-point lead into a 72-57 advantage thanks a 12-2 run and a 5:08 stretch where they held the Suns without a field goal. The Jazz broke it open in the fourth quarter as Garrett showed the skills he wished the Suns could have seen last season. Garrett was a late pickup for the Jazz this season after playing 19 games for Phoenix in 2012-13. Garrett had 11 points in the first five minutes of the fourth period to push the Jazz lead to 95-73. Derrick Favours scored 15 points in his second game back from a hip injury and Alec Burks scored 15 and Jeremy Evans had 11 in reserve roles. The Jazz outscored the Suns 50-36 in the paint and were equally adept from beyond the arc, making 9 of 18 attempts. After allowing a 35-point fourth quarter against the Timberwolves on Tuesday, the Suns defence was again porous against the Jazz. Utah players often beat their Phoenix counterparts down the courts and were one step quicker to the hoop on drives. Though the Jazz are buried near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the starting lineup of Jefferson, Marvin Williams, Favors, Hayward and Trey Burke improved to 18-9 on the season. CHICAGO -- Corey Crawford and the Chicago Blackhawks did just fine without captain Jonathan Toews on Tuesday night. Olympic CA. #10 Guy Lafleur Red 100th Anniversary Stitched NHL Jersey . The Detroit Red Wings had a much more difficult time without their star centre. Crawford made 31 saves and the Blackhawks beat the Red Wings 2-1 in a matchup of depleted Central Division rivals. "Corey was rock solid," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said. "He was big, strong, controlled rebounds. They put a lot of bodies in traffic at the net. They test you on almost every shift. I thought he was excellent." Jimmy Hayes scored the tying goal in the second period and set up Marcus Krugers winning score in the third as Chicago earned its fourth consecutive victory since a nine-game losing streak. "We stayed patient all game," Kruger said. "Even down one goal, we stuck with our plan and found a way to win." Valtteri Filppula scored for NHL-leading Detroit, which had won six in a row. Jimmy Howard had 27 stops in his first action since being sidelined for two-plus weeks with a broken right index finger. "I thought we played about 10 good minutes to start the game and then I thought we were careless with the puck and made poor mental decisions," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "I didnt think we gave ourself much of chance." While Howard was back in the net for the first time since Feb. 2 at Vancouver, the Red Wings were without leading scorer Pavel Datsyuk. The dynamic centre had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove fragments from his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for two weeks. Datsyuk leads the Red Wings with 43 assists and 59 points, playing a key role in Detroits record 23-game home winning streak. The Red Wings host Vancouver on Thursday. "Pavs been out before and hes a huge part of our team but were going to need guys to step up," Howard said. "This is an opportunity for other guys now to play in a role maybe theyre not used to playing in, maybe getting some more ice time, and theyre going to find a way to get it done for us." Chicago was missing Toews, who was scratched with an upper-body injury and is day to day. "In 82 games, youre going to play without some players on any given night," forward Patrick Sharp said. "Losing him was big, but we rallied around each other and all stepped up." Hayes skated behind the Detroit net early in the third and threw it in front, where Kruger slammed in his own rebound to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead just 1:53 into the period. Crawford and the Blackhawks defence took it from there, tying up Detroit and preventing any great chances to tie it up in the waning moments. "The second half of the third, I dont remember them having any chances," Crawford said. "We played solid, everyone was coming back hard." The Blackhawks evened the season series at two games apiece while improving to 7-1 in their last eight home games. The Blackhawks got off to a slow start without their captain and the Red Wings took advantage. Kruger was sent off for tripping just 34 seconds into the game and Filppula sent a wrister over Crawfords right leg to give Detroit a 1-0 lead at 2:22. Chicago turned up the pressure late in the opening period and carried it over to the second, forcing Howard to make a handful of outstanding stops. Patrick Kane made a perfect pass to Sharp in the mouth of the Detroit goal, but Howard got over to kick it away. Michael Frolik skated in on a breakaway after Ian White fell down in the second and Howard kicked that one away, too. Chicago finally broke through at 7:45 of the second when Duncan Keiths shot from the left point squirted through to White, who pushed it into the wide-open net for his fifth goal of the season. Detroit could have a different defensive look when it takes the ice against the Canucks. The Red Wings acquired Kyle Quincey on Tuesday in a three-team deal that also involved Tampa Bay and Colorado. The Lightning traded forward Steve Downie to the Avalanche for Quincey, who was shipped to the Red Wings for a first-round draft pick and minor league defenceman Sebastien Piche. Quincey was drafted by Detroit in 2003, and played a role as the Red Wings reached the Western Conference finals in 2007. "Were thrilled to have him back," Babcock said. "Obviously, we think the deeper you are in the back and the better you move the puck the better chance you have to be successful." Hertl scored his first two NHL goals and the San Jose Sharks beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4-1 on Saturday night. "I dont know, its crazy and to win, Im very happy," said the 19-year-old Hertl said. Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture also scored for the Sharks, who were able to convert two power plays after not scoring on the man advantage against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. "I think its great, you can see how hes having fun with it and hes smiling so much," Marleau said of Hertl. "He brings a lot of energy to us and its fun to see." Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored for the Coyotes, who won their opener at home on Thursday. "We stopped making plays and we couldnt get out of our own zone," Coyotes captain Shane Doan said. "Their forwards were too quick and we stopped playing hockey. We have to be better than that. We let them have the extra opportunities a lot." Antti Niemi stopped 22 shots for the victory. Mike Smith made 47 saves for Phoenix. "The score would have been a lot worse if he didnt play like that," Phoenix coach Dave Tippett said. Smith allowed all three goals in the first 13 minutes before blanking the Sharks the rest of the way. "When you give up 50 shots youre going to be hard pressed to win a game on any given night," Smith said. "I kept telling myself to make as many saves as I could because I felt we were coming back." Tyler Kennedy set up the score when he won the faceoff and Brent Burns kept it alive. "He had his number," Sharks captain Joe Thornton said. "The first one was beautiful and the second one he was in the right position. Another good game for Tomas. You know hes a world-class goaltender and you have to make your shots count." Marleau scored his second goal of the season, also on the power play, at 12:30 of the first. Joe Pavelskis shot bounced off Smiths pad and Vlasic was in position to give Marleau an open net. Phoenix scored at 16:47 of the second period. Ekman-Larsson picked up the puck from Zbynek Michalek in his own zone and carried it all the way, taking a quick shot from the right that glanced into the net off Niemis right glove. Couture added an empty-net goal in the final 25 seconds. The Sharks have beaten Phoenix in 10 of the past 12 meetings in San Jose. Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork. Adidas Superstar Foundation Rosse .com) - Isaiah McKenzie returned the games opening kickoff for a touchdown and scored on a punt return as No. 17 Georgia blasted Kentucky 63-31 on Saturday. Hutson Mason threw a career-high four touchdown passes despite not playing one snap in the fourth quarter for Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC), which rebounded from last weeks 38-20 loss to Florida. Mason was 13-of-16 for 174 yards, and Nick Chubb rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown in the bounce-back win. The Bulldogs had a three-touchdown lead just over 10 minutes into the game. Very pleased with what happened today, said Georgia coach Mark Richt. Im proud of our players. I thought they did a really good job. Starting the game, there was a lot of energy in going up 21-0. Patrick Towles totaled 139 yards with a touchdown pass and ran for another score for the Wildcats (5-5, 2-5), who suffered their fourth straight loss. Towles completed 16-of-31 passes with one interception and added 60 yards on the ground. The Bulldogs got off to a great start in all three phases. McKenzie began the game by sprinting 90 yards to the end zone, the Georgia defense forced a three-and-out and Chris Conley caught a 15-yard touchdown pass to cap the first drive. After another brief Kentucky possession, Chubb scored on an 18-yard run with 4:57 left in the first quarter. Very embarrassing effort by our team (and) our coaching staff, starting with myself, said Kentucky coach Mark Stoops. Not acceptable. Just very disappointed in the way we played, the way were playing. Like I said, embarrassing is the word that comes to mind. Were a .500 football team. Weve got our two biggest rivals left, so well see if we can regroup. The Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs 24-14 in the second quarter. Braylon Heard ran for a 3-yard touchdown and Austin MacGinnis kicked a 38- yard field goal after Georgia fumbled a short kick. Stanley Williams quickly answered Masons 23-yard touchdown pass off play action to Malcolm Mitchell with a 56-yard TD run. The Bulldogs went up 35-17 when Conley hauled in a 4-yard pass from Mason on a fade route, but two defensive penalties on the next Kentucky drive led to Towles scoring on a quarterback sneak with 16 seconds remaining before halftime. However, things fell apart for Kentucky in the third quarter. Towles was picked off by Corey Moore on the first play from scrimmage. The Bulldogs capitalized on the miscue as four Chubb runs preceded Jeb Blazevichs 10-yard touchdown grab. After a three-and-out by the Wildcats, McKenzie returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown. Sony Michel scored on a 23-yard run later in the third, and Brice Ramsey threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Blazevich in the fourth. Towles connected with Javess Blue for a nine-yard touchdown with 3:22 to play. Game Notes Georgia has won five straight games against Kentucky and each of the last four meetings in Lexington ... East Lansing, MI (SportsNetwork. Adidas Superstar Foundation j w .com) - Texas Southern did not take its first lead of the game until there was only 1:26 remaining in regulation. The Tigers were then able to force overtime and pull off a 71-64 upset win over No. 25 Michigan State on Saturday. Jason Carters 3-pointer capped a 7-0 Texas Southern run to give it a 53-52 lead, and his bucket the next possession helped push the game to overtime. Texas Southern (2-8) hit 12 free throws in the extra session to record its second win of the season. Chris Thomas led all scorers with 22 points for the Tigers, while Malcolm Riley added 20 off the bench. The Spartans (8-4) got 17 points and 10 rebounds from Matt Costello, and Denzel Valentine chipped in 15. Michigan State was just 4-of-21 from long distance. What we are trying to do is be all in every possession, said Tigers coach Mike Davis. Every possession we need to block out. I thought that tonight we did that. I thought Michigan State just came out and kind of played. They missed some shots early, and they just kept missing shots. After Carters layup with 29 seconds left, the Spartans were given a great opportunity to win the game in regulation. However, Javon Bess only made 1- of-2 at the line, and the game went to overtime after the Tigers turned the ball over as time expired. Michigan State made more shots from the floor in overtime than Texas Southern, but the Tigers hit enough free throws to build up a lead that got as large as nine points. The Spartans never led in overtime and shot just 30.8 percent from the field. I have to give Mike Davis all the credit in the world, said Spartans coach Tom Izzo. His kids played harder than us, they shot better than us, they rebounded the ball not quite as well as us, they turned us over more, they made big plays, they made their free throws. The Spartans led by as much as eight in the first half but both times they took that eight-point lead, Thomas responded with a bucket on the other hand. Thomas led all scorers at the half with 10 points as Michigan State took a 30-25 lead into the locker room. Gavin Schilling hit both of Michigan States first two baskets in the second half with the second giving the Spartans a 34-27 lead 2 1/2 minutes after the break. The Tigers proceeded to go on their biggest run of the game to tie it up at 34. David Blanks shot from long range started the 7-0 run, and Madarious Gibbs jumper tied the game for the first time. SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs seemingly had overcome certain defeat with a dominant run. Cheap New Balance 574 Shoes . Davis finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds.San Antonio went on a 15-4 run with Tony Parker and Tim Duncan on the bench to take a 99-98 lead. Kawhi Leonard missed a pair of shots in the final seconds, snapping the Spurs five-game winning streak over the Pelicans. The play was supposed to go to Jrue (Holiday) for the back door, but me being me, when I caught the ball, I was in attack mode, Davis said. I just tried to make a good play. Jrue knew because he stopped and didnt go. I just tried to be aggressive. It was the mindset New Orleans had all night in flustering the veteran Spurs. We dont back down from any team, Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans said. But I cant speak for everybody. When I talk to some of the older guys, some guys bodies are hurting a little bit. We have some back-to-backs coming up, but weve done this before. Theyve been here before. I feel like were in decent shape; still getting there. Were not in the greatest shape. Were just not in our normal team rhythm, our chemistry.Even when the Spurs did well defensively, blocking a layup by Holiday or forcing a miss by Evans on a fastbreak, the Pelicans hustled to gather the shots in midair and score.Holiday came out of nowhere to block Leonard on what looked like an uncontested layup off a bullet pass from Ginobili. Evans hustled over to help defensively and catch Parker coming out of a spin to the basket, forcing the Spurs point guard to throw the ball out wildly into Davis arms for the teams 17th turnover.San Antonio had 19 turnovers and struggled to match New Orleans intensity.Im one of players, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. So I think were out there playing hard. I understand a year after winning the championship youre going to get everyones best shot. The injury was gruesome, enough to keep the midfielder out of this weekends clash with Houston. The bruise to Reo-Cokers ego and reputation, however, might be more damaging. The former Villa and West Ham recruit has not had a stellar start to 2014. He dazzled once during the season opener beautifully setting up Pedro Moraless first MLS goal in the late stages, but that was a rare foray into the front third. At Chivas, he coughed up the ball in a bad area at a bad time, and the 10 men Goats took full advantage. In addition, against New England he had his pocket picked on a couple of occasions and was fortunate that neither led to a serious goal threat. Being substituted in the 60th and 70th minutes of those last two games was an indictment on his fitness. Youd think with a child on the way and a real opportunity in Vancouver to be the catalyst and a leader in a young squad, that "Reo C" would have come to camp in top shape and perhaps give the Whitecaps something tto think about long term. New Balance 990 Black. At 29-years-old, hes still young, hes the box to box midfielder the Caps need, and he has some excellent supporting characters around him. But he didnt come to camp in shape, and in a simple one-on-one drill at the beginning of last week, he was badly exposed by a potential replacement in young Canadian Bryce Alderson. For all his bluster, Reo Coker has been put in his place, by an inanimate object no less. It might have been his manager sending the message, but now Carl Robinson has been let off the hook by having that decision made for him. What happens from here will define Reo Cokers future in Vancouver. He might view this injury/incident as the motivation needed to put his head down, get fit and let his game do the talking. The alternative will look all too familiar to keen observers of the British Bulldogs career; a departure with questions asked and unanswered followed by a new beginning somewhere else. I for one, hope its the former because its easy to like Nigel Reo Coker the person. Its even easier to like Nigels game when its at its very best. Making it even sweeter was that it came at the expense of the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, who bounced New England from the post-season last season. Logan Ryan had two interceptions, LeGarrette Blount scored twice and the playoff-bound Patriots breezed to a 41-7 victory Sunday, ending the Ravens four-game winning streak and diminishing their post-season hopes. The previous time these two teams met, the AFC title hung in the balance and Baltimore used a strong second half to pull out a 28-13 victory. In this one, New England took a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter and never let up behind a defence that forced four turnovers and had four sacks. The Patriots (11-4) were assured their fifth straight AFC East title before the game started when Miami lost at Buffalo. Its the 11th division crown for New England coach Bill Belichick, tied with Don Shula for most since the 1970 merger. "Happy to win the AFC East," Belichick said. "Hopefully, we can build off this game." Tom Brady completed 14 of 26 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown. He has led his team to 11 division titles, two more than any other starting quarterback in NFL history. "Theyre all special. Its hard to come by, and this teams really fought hard all year," Brady said. "Weve earned it. Eleven wins in the NFLs not easy, and to win a division titles not easy." The loss eliminated the Ravens (8-7) from contention in the AFC North and dropped them into a tie with Miami and San Diego for the final AFC wild-card slot. Baltimore closes the regular season at Cincinnati, which displaced the Ravens as division champs. "We got to go in there and win. That was going to be the case no matter what," said Harbaugh, who is in danger of missing the post-season for the first time in his six seasons with Baltimore. It was the Ravens most lopsided loss since a 37-0 defeat at Pittsburgh in 1997. Things went so bad for Baltimore that Justin Tuckers run of 33 straight field goals ended when he went wide left on a 37-yarder with 14:19 remaining. Joe Flacco went 22 for 38 for 260 yards and two interceptions for the Ravens, who fell to 6-2 at home. Wearing a brace on his left knee after being injured last week in Detroit, Flacco had difficulty escaping the unyielding pressure applied by NNew Englands defensive front. Bertrand Traore Chelsea Jersey. "I dont think he played well," Harbaugh said. Refusing to use the brace as an excuse, Flacco said, "I would have liked to play better. The brace had nothing to do with anything." Baltimore trailed 20-0 late in the third quarter when Ray Rice was stuffed for no gain on a fourth-and-1 at the New England 4. That effectively ended any chance of a comeback. The Ravens scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Flacco with 9:21 left, enabling Baltimore to avoid its first shutout loss since 2002, against Tampa Bay. It was of very little consolation to the defending champs. "Its a tough pill to swallow," safety James Ihedigbo said. "Definitely a frustrating loss." New England scored on a 7-yard run by Blount with 2:05 to go to make it 27-7, then added another touchdown when an errant snap eluded Ravens backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Chandler Jones recovered the ball in the end zone. Tavon Wilson capped the scoring with a 74-yard interception return with 40 seconds remaining. Baltimores previous three games were decided by three points or fewer, but it became evident early that this one would not be close. New England went up 7-0 on its second possession. A 34-yard pass interference penalty against Jimmy Smith put the ball at the Baltimore 1 before Blount bulled into the end zone. Three plays later, Flacco threw into double coverage and was intercepted by Ryan at the New England 47. After completing a 34-yard pass to Danny Amendola, Brady connected with Shane Vereen for a 4-yard score. The Patriots quickly got the ball back, and Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 45-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter to make it 17-0. Shortly after halftime, the Ravens went for it on fourth-and-3 at the New England 39 and Flacco threw an incomplete pass. Baltimores next possession ended with Ryans second interception of the game and fifth of the season. Seven plays later, Gostkowski kicked a 42-yard field goal. Flacco tried to rally the Ravens, but after a 42-yard completion to Torrey Smith produced a first down at the New England 13, he couldnt get into the end zone. NASHVILLE -- The Arizona Cardinals keep pushing for a playoff spot, even if they barely pulled out their latest win. Under Armour Scorpio Chrome . Jay Feely kicked a 41-yard field goal in overtime, and the Cardinals edged the Tennessee Titans 37-34 in overtime after blowing a 17-point lead late in the fourth quarter. Still, the Cardinals (9-5) won their sixth in seven games. With San Francisco and Carolina winning, they remain a game back of both for a NFC wild-card berth. The Titans scored 17 points in the final 3:12 of regulation to force overtime with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing two of his four TD passes to Michael Preston. They also recovered an onside kick to set up the tying TD with 10 seconds left in regulation. They won the toss and drove to the Cardinals 43 before Antoine Cason intercepted his second pass of the game. Tennessee (5-9) lost its third straight and eighth in 10 games. The Titans also lost their fifth consecutive home game for the first time since moving to Tennessee in 1997. The Cardinals scored 21 straight points in the second half, the last when Cason returned his first interception for a TD and a 34-17 lead. The Titans outgained Arizona 460-360 with Fitzpatrick throwing for 402 yards and Kendall Wright caught 12 passes for 150 yards hours after new president Tommy Smith said he felt they hadnt given up on Mike Munchak with the coachs job security at question. But Arizona sacked Fitzpatrick three times to go along with Casons interceptions. Rashard Mendenhall also ran for a pair of 1-yard touchdowns, and Carson Palmer threw for 231 yards and had a 6-yard TD pass to Jake Ballard. Cason also recovered a botched kickoff when Arizona surprised the Titans with a short kick to open the third quarter, and the Cardinals turned that into a 47-yard field goal by Feely. The Cardinals turned those mistakes into 13 points in a game with five lead changes. Arizona also made mistakes. The Cardinals didnt have a single penalty in the first half, but had four giving the Titans first downs on a 16-play drive by Tennessee for a TD and a 17-13 lead in the third quarter. Tennessee had won only once before this season when trailing going into the fourth quarter, losing seven other games. The Titans at least pushed this game to overtime with only a few thousand fans still left in the stadium because so many left when they fell behind 34-17. Munchak deactivated receivers Justin Hunter and Damian Williams for what team officials called violating team rules. The rookie Hunter was coming off the best game of his career and had topped 100 yards in two of the past three games. That forced the Titans to play Kenny Britt, and the veteran caught his first pass since Oct. 20. He finished with three catches. Mens Under Armour Scorpio Running Shoes . FUKUOKA, Japan -- Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan brushed off a fall and merely increased his lead in beating three-time world champion Patrick Chan of Canada at the Grand Prix Final on Friday. http://www.redskinsfanaticstore.com/authentic-trent-murphy-redskins-jersey/ . Hanyu, who had a 12-point lead after Thursdays short program, fell on his opening quad salchow but completed all of his other jumps, including seven triple jumps plus a quad toe loop in the free skate to eclipse Chan by 13 points. "I wasnt completely satisfied with the long program," Hanyu said. "But after falling on the quad I was able to pull myself together and complete all my jumps and that was huge." Chan also hit all his jumps, but he was unable to erase the deficit and finished with 280.08 points to Hanyus 293.25. Nobunari Oda of Japan, a late substitute for defending GP Final champion Daisuke Takahashi, was third with 255.96. "It was a good day and Im happy with how I skated," Chan said. "I felt nervous going into the long program. It was a mental battle even before I got on the ice." Beating Chan was a huge boost for Hanyus chances of being selected to represent Japan at the Sochi Olympics. "This is a huge step for Sochi," said Hanyu, who will turn 19 on Saturday. "I feel I am meeting all the requirements. We still have the national championships but obviously, I am feeling pretty confident." Chan said he wasnt disappointed with the result. "I finished the event strong," the Toronto skater said. "There was a lot of good things I did here, and that was regaining my composure and regaining my concentration after a bad short program and putting out a great long that I dont usually do. Its not very Patrick Chan of me. "Most of the time, I think people know me well that the short program has always saved me ... but I think today was proof that Im getting better and really becoming a more well-rounded competitor." He said his long skate was even more satisfying given his previous track record skating in Japan. "Honestly, I started thinking about my previous performances here in Japan, and I dont really have the best track record," he said. "The last two times I competed here has for the World Team Trophy, and I really havent skated well at every single one of those in Japan, just because its at the end of the season. "Every time I come back to Japan I feel like I relive those moments where I didnt skate my best and those were really tough times. Thats why I think I learned a lot today." In ice dancing, world champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White of the United States led after the short dance with 77.66 points, seven-tenths of a point ahead of Tessa Virtue of London, Ont., and Scott Moir of Ilderton, Ont. "Overall it was strong," said Virtue. "Technically we got all the points we wanted which was our objective. We just have to go out and perform the same way in the free dance." Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev of Russia stand third at 68.90 just ahead of Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje of Waterloo, Ont., at 67.68. "We captured the essence of the program," said Poje. "We didnt lose that uniqueness. We wanted to utilize the taps and the back and forth between the two of us." Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov of Russia were first after the pairs short program with 82.65. World silver medallists Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany were second with 79.46 while Qing Pang and Jian Tong of China were third on 75.40. Meagan Duhamel of Lively, Ont., and Eric Radford of Balmertown, Ont., totalled 73.07 and are fourth less than three points behind third spot. Kirsten Moore-Towers of St. Catharines, Ont., and Dylan Moscovitch of Toronto are sixth. "This is the type of skate weve been waiting for," said Radford. "After some rough short programs this season, this one gives us a lot of confidence." Moore-Towers and Moscovitch also came off the ice satisfied. "We cant do much better than a clean short," said Moore-Towers. "The best part was our energy. We felt comfortable and at home out there. It was fun and when we get to feel it that way, its enjoyable." The GP Final is the first and only event where most of the worlds top skaters will meet before the Sochi Olympics. NEW YORK -- It certainly appears that trip to Las Vegas turned Travis dArnaud into a much more confident hitter. Baba Rahman Chelsea Jersey . The rookie catcher snapped an eighth-inning tie with a two-run double, and the New York Mets overcame an early injury to starter Jonathon Niese, beating the skidding Texas Rangers 6-5 Friday night to stop a four-game slide. "Felt really good," dArnaud said. "Its a big win for us to start the homestand." Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer off Yu Darvish, and the Mets opened a 10-game homestand with their second victory in nine games. An angry Niese left in the first with a bruised lower back after he was hit by Alex Rios line drive. X-rays were negative, the team said. Star third baseman David Wright missed his seventh straight game with a sore left shoulder, but fill-in Eric Campbell had three hits and an RBI for New York. Carlos Torres, pressed into long relief when Niese was injured, gave up two runs in 4 2-3 valuable innings. "Nobody expects stuff like that to happen. It does. This is baseball," Torres said. "Whoever they call down for, they step up and go out there and go do their job." Shin-Soo Choo hit a leadoff homer, and Adrian Beltre also went deep for the Rangers, who have dropped six in a row and 14 of 16. Their 10-game losing streak on the road is the clubs longest since a 12-game skid in 2003. "One day the pitching is really good, and one day the offence isnt helping," Choo said. "Right now, everything bad is coming together at the same time." Bobby Abreu drew a leadoff walk from Aaron Poreda (2-1) in the eighth and Campbell singled off Jason Frasor with one out before dArnaud sent a drive up the alley in right-centre. Batting .180 when he was sent to Triple-A Las Vegas in early June, dArnaud quickly went on a power-hitting tear in the Pacific Coast League. Brought back to the big leagues, he is hitting .303 with six RBIs in nine games since he was recalled. "I just try to keep my mind at ease and keep everything simple and not overstress myself, and thats been paying off," dArnaud said. Jenrry Mejia (5-3) retired Rios with two runners in scoring position to end the eighth. Mejia allowed an RBI single by Adam Rosales in the ninth before retiring pinch-hitter Robinson Chirinos on a tricky popup to finish a plodding game on Fireworks Night that took 4 hours, 8 minutes. Darvish, pushed back a day because of rain Thursday in Baltimore, entered with dominant stats against NL teams. But he was off in this one, allowing four runs and five hits in five innings. "He was a little erratic with his command, but I thought he did a good job of righting the ship there in the last three innings," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. Choo hit his 13th career leadoff homer, second this season, on Nieses third pitch. Moments later, Rios drive nailed Niese on the left side of his lower back. He recovered in time to get Rios at first base -- the only out he got -- before manager Terry Collins, pitching coach Dan Warthen and trainer Ray Ramirez came out to check on the left-hander. Niese repeatedly told Collins he was fine, but was removed without trying a warmup pitch. Torres was given all the time he needed to get loose. "It was precaution more than anything," Collins said. Niese fired his glove against the dugout wall and knocked over a bucket of bubble gum before disappearing down the tunnel. The teams most reliable starter this season, Niese was done after 12 pitches. He has gone 21 straight starts without allowing more than three earned runs -- the longest active streak in the majors. "Theres not much to say other than Im fine. I didnt want to be taken out. I just felt like I was cheated there a little bit," Niese said. Elvis Andrus had his second consecutive three-hit game for the Rangers. Darvish doubled to the left-centre fence for his second hit in 11 major league at-bats -- the first for extra bases. Ramires Jersey . The fourth-year CFLer will miss Thursdays game against the Edmonton Eskimos, still bothered by his sore left knee.ATLANTA -- After a horrible stretch, the Atlanta Hawks are healthy again -- well, sort of -- and feel like they can move back up in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague equaled his career best with 34 points, Paul Millsap had the first triple-double of his career and the Hawks extended their longest winning streak of the season to five in a row, beating the Toronto Raptors 118-113 in overtime Tuesday night. Millsap had 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Hawks, who have bounced back after losing 14 of 15 to strengthen their hold on the final playoff spot in the East. Theyre looking to improve on that position in the final month of the regular season. "We wanted to win this game really bad," Teague said. "Weve been playing well lately." Even after losing centre Al Horford for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, the Hawks were surprisingly four games above .500 at the start of February when the injuries really started to pile up. That sent them into a tailspin that threatened their bid to even make the playoffs. Now, they seem back on track. "Were not going to make any excuses," Millsap said. "Weve just got to push forward and try to win some games." Coming off a victory the previous night at Charlotte, the Hawks overcame an early 13-point deficit in a game that went back and forth in the final quarter. Millsap missed a chance to win it at the end of regulation, but Teague knocked down four free throws in the closing seconds to clinch it for Atlanta. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 29 points, but he had two crucial turnovers in the last minute of regulation, getting called for an offensive foul and slipping on another drive, losing the ball out of bounds. "A lot of things didnt go our way," DeRozan said, "but we shouldnt have put ourselves in that situation to start with." The Hawks went ahead for good when Millsap found DeMarre Carroll all alone under the basket for a layup, which put Atlanta up 111-109 with 2:37 remaining and gave Millsap his 10th assist. Baba Rahman Jersey. Toronto went more than 3 1-2 minutes without scoring in the overtime, allowing the Hawks to hang on when most of their shots werent falling, either. "Weve got to learn from it," DeRozan said. Kyle Korver added 16 points for Atlanta. DeRozan had a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds, while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 20 points. The Hawks got off to a miserable start, making just 6 of 24 shots in the opening period and trailing 22-9. But the Raptors failed to take advantage of the poor shooting, and the Hawks bench got the home team back in the game. Shelvin Mack knocked down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter, cutting the Raptors lead to 26-17. Then, Atlanta started the next period with a quick 8-0 run -- and, just like that, it was a ballgame again. Cartier Martin swished a par of treys, sandwiched around Mike Scotts driving layup. The game was tied 49-all at halftime. Neither team could break away in the third, the margin never more than four points, and there were 10 lead changes in the final period. Atlanta C Pero Antic and Lowry picked up double-technicals in the third quarter for jawing at each other after a play that left Antic sprawled on the court.
