MANCHESTER, England -- Chelsea moved provisionally atop of the English Premier
League by beating Hull 2-0 while Manchester United ended a sorry run of three
straight defeats to lift the gloom surrounding the reigning champion on
Saturday.
Womens Tyson Jackson Jersey . Meanwhile,
there were huge victories for Sunderland and West Ham over fellow relegation
rivals, leaving the battle to avoid the drop up for grabs with the bottom 11
teams separated by just six points. Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres scored
second-half goals to seal a fourth straight victory for Chelsea, which climbed
above Arsenal and Manchester City in the standings ahead of their games on
Monday and Sunday respectively. "Now were top of the league for the first time
in a long time and hopefully we can stay there," Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech
said. United was on the brink of a crisis, by its lofty standards, after losing
three games in six days to kick off 2014, but a 2-0 win over Swansea will boost
the confidence among David Moyes squad and keeps his seventh-place team in touch
with the top four. Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck scored in a 13-minute span
at the start of the second half for United, which was inspired by another
brilliant display by 18-year-old winger Adnan Januazaj. "His natural talent and
ability is up there with the best," Moyes said. Everton will spend the night in
fourth thanks to a 2-0 win over Norwich, and Tottenham also boosted its chances
of finishing in the Champions League spots by earning a 2-0 victory over Crystal
Palace, which slipped to last place. Thats because Sunderland, which started the
day at the bottom, beat Fulham 4-1 mainly thanks to a hat trick by winger Adam
Johnson. West Ham was next to last at kickoff but climbed out of the relegation
zone with a 2-0 win at Cardiff, despite playing the final stages with 10 men
following James Tomkins sending-off. Carlton Cole and Mark Noble were the
scorers for West Ham, earning their under-fire manager Sam Allardyce some
breathing space after a dreadful run of form and condemning Cardiff coach Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer to a defeat in his first league match in charge. England
midfielder Adam Lallana scored Southamptons winner in a 1-0 victory over West
Bromwich Albion in the days other game. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said this
week it wouldnt even entertain bids of 100 million pounds ($165 million) for
Hazard, amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and it is easy to see
why. The Belgium winger is Chelseas top scorer this season with nine goals and
he underlined his increasing value to the Blues by ending Hulls stubborn
resistance with a well-taken individual goal, twice cutting inside before
delivering an emphatic finish. "He is not a talented kid anymore," Mourinho
said. "He is now more than that. He is a player who feels and accepts the
responsibility, feels and accepts that a team player is more than a talented
player and he has done it without losing his fantastic ability and fantastic
talent." Torres, whose best form appears to be returning, marked his 200th
Premier League appearance with the second goal three minutes from time and it
was also a good day for Cech, who earned a club-record 209th clean sheet. Behind
the top three, who are favoured to battle it out for the title, the race for
Champions League spots is heating up. By beating Swansea, United did more than
just avoid a fourth straight defeat for the first time since 1961. It breathed
new life into the teams faltering league campaign and provided some welcome
respite for Moyes, whose position has been under increasing scrutiny. "Its the
same size as any other. You only get three points," Moyes said of the win, but
the reaction inside Old Trafford to Valencias 47th-minute opener from close
range was one of relief more than joy. Welbeck then glanced home Patrice Evras
scuffed shot in the 59th for his sixth goal in as many league games, ensuring
United remained nine points behind Chelsea. Gareth Barry and Kevin Mirallas
scored Evertons goals at Goodison Park to leave Roberto Martinezs in-form team
five points behind Chelsea and Norwich without a win in six league matches.
Spurs rode their luck against Palace early on, with Jason Puncheon blazing a
first-half penalty way over the bar, before Denmark playmaker Christian Eriksen
-- enjoying a new lease of life under recently hired manager Tim Sherwood -- and
Jermain Defoe scored in the second half for the hosts. It is the start of a long
goodbye for Defoe after his move to MLS side Toronto at the end of February was
confirmed on Friday.

Naturally, I didnt think that Ovechkin would be a player that needed much

great with the man advantage and can make a difference even when he doesnt

heads to her hometown world championships injury-free and winning races in
style. With both teams picking up a win on the road, the Canadiens will head
back to Boston knowing they will need at least one more win away from home ice
to claim their series over the Bruins. The Canadiens fell short in Game 4 with
Matt Fraser scoring the 1-0 overtime goal to tie this series, but arent hanging
their heads from yesterdays loss. "Im pleased with our team effort.,” coach
Michel Therrien said at his post-game press conference last night. “The guys
battled hard and when we got to overtime we knew the game could have gone both
ways. Both teams played really hard." That same sentiment was echoed in the room
by the team on Thursday. The Canadiens did not skate but they didd gather at
their practice facility in Brossard to regroup before heading to Boston.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Torontos Daniel Nestor and Serbian partner Nenad

Saturday.
Authentic Kawann Short Jersey . Nestor and
Zimonjic, the tournaments top seeds, lost 6-4, 6-3 to Rohan Bopanna of India and
Pakistans Asiam-Ul-Haq Qureshi. Nestor and Zimonjic beat Bopanna and Ul-Haq
Qureshi in the doubles final of a tournament in Sydney last month. But they were
outplayed this time by Bopanna and Ul-Haq Qureshi, who needed 68 minutes to
secure the win. "They were better, we probably didnt get enough first serves
in," said Nestor. "When we both had chances to play they put more pressure on
us. "We just didnt play well all around." Nestor, 41, was playing in his third
ATP final in five weeks, winning in Brisbane and Sydney while also earning the
Australian Open mixed title with Kristina Mladenovic of France. Nestor won the
Dubai title in 2002 with Mark Knowles of the Bahamas but was unable to repeat
the feat 12 years later. He and Zimonjic saved three set points in the final
game of the 35-minute first set. But they were finally caught by a shovelled
winner down the line which ended a fierce volley duel at the net between all of
the four players. Bopanna and Ul-Haq Qureshi took control of the second set with
a break of Zimonjic for a 3-1 lead en route to the victory. "Weve won some
matches this week so thats a good thing," said Nestor. "Doubles seems to turn on
just a few points, who knows anything can happen. "We can beat anyone or lose to
anyone at any time." Nestor still needs a win to move into third all-time in the
post-1968 Open. He currently has 83 career wins, tied with Australian Todd
Woodbridge and behind Mike Bryan (96) and Bob Bryan (94). Nestor and Zimonjic
have won 25 titles together with Nestor having played in 137 doubles finals.

GREENSBORO, N.
Greg Olsen Jersey .C. -- With T.J. Warren
scoring near his usual pace, North Carolina State was poised to pull off a
second straight significant upset at the ACC tournament. Then the Wolfpack ran
out of steam. No. 7 Duke beat N.C. State 75-67 on Saturday in the ACC
semifinals, denying the Wolfpack a third win in three days. "They really
believed we could win and they played with great courage," coach Mark Gottfried
said. "I thought maybe we got tired in the second half. We didnt seem as fresh
as we have been." Warren, the ACC player of the year, scored 21 points for N.C.
State to 20 for Dukes Jabari Parker in a matchup of the ACCs top two scorers.
Warren led the league with an average of 24.9 points while Parker was second at
19.2 points per game. On Saturday, Warren scored 21 points but was just 4 of 13
after halftime while facing a barrage of double teams. "Rodney (Hood) did a good
job on him just to keep him to 21," coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "You can
overcoach, and we overcoached our preparation. He was doing what we asked him to
do, and it wasnt working, and he said, Coach, let me just play him my normal
way. That was better." The seventh-seeded Wolfpack (21-13) shot just 36 per cent
in the second half -- after hitting 67 per cent in the opening half -- and were
denied their first title game berth since 2007. "N.C. State was fighting for
their lives," Dukes Rasheed Sulaimon said. Lennard Freeman had 13 points and
Anthony "Cat" Barber finished with 12 for N.C. State, which for much of the day
looked capable of pulling off a second straight resume-enhancing upset after
knocking off No. 11 Syracuse in the quarterfinals. "I hope they take a look at
our team and see how much better we are than we were at the beginning,"
Gottfried said. "If you win at Pitt, beat Syracuse and beat Duke, hell, youre
about a Final Four team then. I think we showed that we certainly belong in the
field of 68." Sulaimon added 16 points for the third-seeded Blue Devils (26-7)
while Rodney Hood had 14 points and keyed the defensive effort against Warren.
Duke earned its 31st championship game appearance and first since 2011. The Blue
Devils will play No. 6 Virginia on Sunday. Dukes 69-65 win in January stood as
the Cavaliers lone conference loss until Maryland beat them last week. Duke won
on Saturday with a 20-7 run in the second half that was fueled by three N.C.
State turnovers and a spate of missed shots. "Im not going to force it to get
past two people," said Barber, who said he was double-teamed as well. "They just
did a great job of defending. ... They just kept their composure throughout the
game." Parker scored six points during the burst that pushed the Blue Devils
lead into double figures for the first time. A botched lob to N.C. State big man
Jordan Vandenberg led to an open court the other way for Parker, and his
authoritative dunk over a sidestepping Barber made it 49-45 with 15 minutes
left. Quinn Cook ended the run with a 3 that made it 61-49 with about 9 1/2
minutes remaining. "We got a lot of easy baskets from our defence, and once we
got into a rhythm, our shots started falling down and we got rolling," Sulaimon
said. N.C. State never could string together a game-threatening run after that,
and the Wolfpacks best chance down the stretch came when they closed to 67-59 on
Freemans jumper with about 3 minutes left. Hood missed the front end of a
one-and-one but the rebound went to Parker -- who finished with a
momentum-shifting dunk to put Duke back up by 10. Cook had 14 points for the
Blue Devils, who gave N.C. State its most lopsided loss of the season in the
teams only previous meeting -- a 95-60 thumping at Cameron Indoor Stadium in
which Duke seemed content to let Warren score and clamp down on everyone else.
At least early on Saturday, though, the Blue Devils once again couldnt stop
anyone. N.C. State hit 13 of 15 shots over an 11-minute stretch and scored on 15
of 16 possessions, with the only empty trip in that span coming when Warren
missed the front end of a one-and-one. "First half, neither team could stop one
another," Krzyzewski said. "In the second half, we just played better defence."

PRETORIA, South Africa -- Oscar Pistorius lawyers tried to roll back the
prosecutions momentum at his murder trial Wednesday following the star athletes
shaky testimony, presenting a forensic expert who quickly found his own
credentials and findings sharply questioned.
Cheap San Jose Sharks Jerseys . With
Pistorius now back watching the proceedings from a wooden bench, the
double-amputee Olympians defence team was attempting to bolster his account that
he shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp by mistake through a toilet door in his home,
thinking she was a dangerous intruder about to attack him in the night.
Pistorius faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of premeditated murder
in Steenkamps death in the early hours of Valentines Day last year. But former
police officer Roger Dixon, testifying for the defence, also appeared unsteady
as chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel warned him that it was irresponsible to "try and
be an expert" in areas he was not. Nel asserted in his cross-examination that
Dixon was not an expert in light, sound, ballistics, gunshot wounds or pathology
-- all areas about which he was testifying. Dixon worked at the police forensic
laboratory in Pretoria until he left the force in December 2012. He was a
specialist in analyzing materials at crime scenes. He now works in the geology
department at the University of Pretoria. Nel also accused him of not answering
questions directly. "For an expert you are evasive," Nel said, prompting the
judge at one point to tell the energetic prosecutor to "restrain" himself.
Earlier, the judge ruled that proceedings will adjourn for more than two weeks
after Thursday because a member of the prosecution team has another case to
attend to. The trial will resume on May 5. During the cross-examination, Nel
showed that Dixons findings regarding Steenkamps gunshot wounds came from
analysis of autopsy photos and from a pathologists report because he was not
present at the autopsy. He also hadnt read parts of the pathology report, Nel
charged. The prosecutor also criticized Dixon for not bringing photographs and
his written reports with him and abruptly told him to bring them on Thursday. "I
said I will," Dixon snapped back. "Good," Nel responded. Nel ridiculed Dixons
finding about the sequence of the shots that Pistorius fired at Steenkamp
through the door, testimony which contradicted that of a police ballistics
expert and state pathologist Prof. Gert Saayman. "I use the word finding very
loosely," Nel said wryly of Dixons theory. Questioned by defence lawyer Barry
Roux, Dixon said he believed Steenkamp was hit in the hip and the arm in quick
succession by the first two of four shots while she was standing close to the
toilet door. Raising his right arm in the courtroom, Dixon indicated he believed
Steenkamp may have had her right arm extended and maybe her hand on the door
handle, as if she was about to open the door through which she was shot. The
defence was using his testimony to try to cast doubt on the prosecutions account
that Steenkamp fled to the toilet and was hiding there during a fight with
Pistorius. Nel has said that the runner intentionally shot Steenkamp through the
door as she faced him and while they were arguing. Nel mocked what he said was a
suggestion by Dixon that Steenkamp was knocked backward by one of the bullets.
"Its something you see on TV," Nel said dismissively, challenging the expert to
find scientific literature that showed it was possible. Nel also pounced on
Dixons concession that an audio test that the defence conducted to compare the
sounds of gunshots to those of a cricket bat hitting a wood door -- which both
happened on the night of the killing -- had to be done a second time because of
problems with the first. He even asked him if he was an expert at swinging a
cricket bat, a cutting reference to his hitting a bat on a wood door in the
defences audio tests at a gun range. Dixon had also said he took part in the
audio tests that showed the sounds of gunshots and of a cricket bat hitting a
wood door were similar and could be confused. That is important because several
neighbours have testified that they heard Steenkamp scream before shots on the
fatal night, backing the prosecutions case that there was a fight before
Pistorius shot his girlfriend with his 9 mm pistol. Pistorius defence says the
witnesses are mistaking the sequence and they heard Pistorius screaming in a
high-pitched voice for help before breaking the toilet door open with his bat to
get to Steenkamp. When played by Pistorius lawyers in courts, the two noises
were similar. But questioned by Nel, Dixon said the tests had to be repeated and
that they were recorded and edited by a music producer who had no experience in
recording gunshots. "I have no idea on the expertise of the person who recorded
the sounds," Dixon said.

alongside the likes of Peter Forsberg, Claude Giroux, Rick Nash, Daniel Briere,
and Anze Kopitar, but not one of them stacks up to Drew Doughty in one key
department. "Hes probably the most skilled guy Ive ever played with and Ive
played with some pretty good players," Carter said after a close 2-1 overtime
win against Finland. "When his confidence is going [and] hes feeling good about
himself he can do anything out there. Its pretty amazing to watch." Doughty
scored both Canadian goals – including the upset-preventing overtime winner –
late Sunday evening, lifting his country to top spot in Group-B and a berth in
the quarterfinals. On a grand Olympic stage that features the highest caliber of
talent this game has to offer, the 24-year-old from London, Ontario stands out
as one of the very best. "I forget about everything thats going on around me and
Im just focused in on that game and having fun," he said. Third in tournament
scoring after the preliminary round, Doughty leads Canada with four goals –
including one in each of the three games – and five points, totaling nearly 20
minutes of ice-time against the Finns. No apparent fear or uncertainty seems to
exist on his part, no matter the venue. Doughty is willing to force the action
and assert himself on centre-stage, if and when the moment presents itself. This
was clear again in overtime at Bolshoy Ice Dome when he deposited a Carter feed
beyond the pads of the nearly-unbeatable Tuukka Rask. It was perhaps most
emphatic during the 2010 Olympics when he proved a revelation as a 20-year-old
for the gold-medal winning Canadian squad. "Confidence," said Carter in a word.
"When you put all his skill with that confidence its pretty amazing." And maybe
his personality has something to do with that no-fear persona on the biggest
stages, which also included a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Doughtys defence partner here in Sochi, describes him as
"pretty loose" and "funny". A teammate for two-plus seasons with the Kings,
Carter agrees, calling him "one of a kind for sure", always with "a smile on his
face, bouncing around, laughing, having a good time." Those easy-going
quualities seem to translate to the ice.
Cheap
Jerseys From China. "He plays loose out there," Carter said. "Hes
not scared to try and make plays too and I think thats what make him such a
dynamic player." Doughty carries a cool about him on the ice that makes every
one of his movements seem controlled and purposeful, almost as if nothing else
out there matters in the scheme of what he has to offer the game. His passes are
crisp and on the tape. His daring rushes look as though they were designed
beforehand, each stride, angle and movement carefully calculated. His instincts
with the puck make it seem as if he is just a step ahead of what lies next.
"Thats what Drew does," said Carter of Doughty, the No. 2 overall pick from the
2008 draft, who is logging 26 minutes per game for the Kings this season. "He
does it all year for us [in Los Angeles] and probably doesnt get as much
recognition as he should because of the time zone and what not." Doughty doesnt
look nor appear nervous on this stage, but says he was four years ago in
Vancouver during that first Olympic stint. But the nerves that bubbled there
were not for the reasons one might think. It had nothing to do with the pressure
of bidding for gold on home soil, but was more about his youthful place on a
veteran roster that featured aging stars and future Hall-of-Famers like
Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger. "I was just a little young guy there, had
so many older guys around me that I didnt know whatsoever," he said. "I was
nervous mostly because of that, not because of the fans and the pressure and the
country and all that, it was just meeting all these All-Star players." If not
leaning on Niedermayer and Pronger for wisdom, Doughty made sure to stash other
hints for success. "Just watching them thats all I had to do," he said. "And I
learned so many things just watching those guys play and it helped me out for
this one for sure." Doughty looks like hes just having fun, like the intensity
of all that lays around him has no bearing. Facing a large horde of media after
his overtime winner he stepped toward a microphone and began to speak only to be
reminded that he needed to actually speak into the microphone. Cool and jovial,
he responded with a sarcastic crack, "I actually gotta talk into the
microphone?"

CLEVELAND -- Indians manager Terry Francona likes to talk about grind-it-out
wins.
Man
City Jersey 2017 . Tuesday nights 5-3 victory over the Boston Red
Sox fit that category perfectly. Michael Bourns two-run double in the seventh
inning snapped a 3-all tie and extended Clevelands winning streak to a
season-high five straight games. The Indians scored three runs on five straight
hits in the first off Jake Peavy, but couldnt add to the lead and the Red Sox
tied the game in the seventh. The deadlock didnt last long. "We played a good
game," Francona said. "I thought we had to. We strung together a number of hits
(in the first), then youre kind of hanging on for dear life. When they tied it,
we came back." Cleveland (29-30) can get back to .500 for the first time since
April 24 if it can complete a three-game sweep Wednesday. The Indians have made
up six games in the AL Central standings since May 18 and trail first-place
Detroit by 4 1-2 games. Francona always stresses to his players to take things
one day at a time. "Thats the only way you can dig yourself out of a hole," he
said. "It can look so daunting when you look too far in advance, but when you
take care of what youre supposed to do that day, all of a sudden things can
mount in a good way." The Red Sox have lost two straight after winning seven
consecutive games. That streak was preceded by a 10-game losing streak.
Nick Hagadone (1-0) struck out three in 1 1-3 innings. Cody Allen recorded the
final four outs for his fifth save, striking out former Indians All-Star
Grady Sizemore, pinch-hitting for Jonny Gomes, to end the game. Allen also
retired Sizemore for the final out in Mondays 3-2 win. "Obviously, they have
some very good hitters," Allen said. "Theyre the defending world champions.
Thats a veteran group. They have a lot of wins over there." Peavy (1-3) allowed
five runs in 6 1-3 innings. The right-hander, who hasnt won since April 25, gave
up three runs in the first, but held the Indians scoreless until the seventh.
David Murphy walked to start the inning and Yan Gomes singled. Peavy threw out
Murphy at third on Mike Aviles sacrifice attempt, leaving runners at first and
second. Andrew Miller relieved, but Bourn doubled off the lefty over the head of
Gomes in left field to score both runners. "Bournie had a really good at-bat,"
Francona said. "Thats not a fun lefty to face from the left side." Bourn, who
hit a walk-off homer Sunday against Colorado, is 8 for 19 with five RBIs in
Clevelands winning streak. The Indians are 20-11 at Progressive Field, the best
home record in the AL. The Indians opened the game with five straight singles.
Michael Brantley and Lonnie Chisenhall had RBI hits. The third run scored when
Ryan Raburn hit into a double play. Peavy, who was 0-2 with a 5.89 ERA in six
starts last month, retired 14 in a row at one point, a stretch that ended with
Chisenhalls two-out single in the seventh. "This is a tough one to lose," Peavy
said. "I dont know if Ive ever started a game with five straight hits. Tonight
was a grind." Xander Bogaerts hit a solo homer with one out in the third.
Jonathan Herreras sixth-inning single cut the lead to 3-2. Bogaerts started the
seventh with a double off Scott Atchison and scored when Dustin Pedroia doubled.
Hagadone, called up from Triple-A Columbus on Monday, struck out A.J. Pierzynski
and Alex Hassan with two on to end the inning. Cleveland starter T.J. House
allowed two runs in 5 2-3 innings. NOTES: Boston pitcher Brandon Workman

. -- Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice tweeted an apparent goodbye
after a report about his pending release. Each week, TSN.ca NFL Editors Ben
Fisher and Mike Hetherington discuss three hot fantasy football topics. This
week they take a look back and their best and worst calls of the fantasy season.
What was your best call this season? Fisher: I didn’t hit on much, but at a time
when Robert Griffin III was still getting QB1 grades, I was pretty adamant he
wouldn’t live up to those expectations, not even close. I also predicted Griffin
wouldn’t last the year as starter but what I didn’t see was Kurt Cousins also
getting replaced … or for that matter Colt McCoy looking half serviceable.
Griffin struggled even before his ankle injury – his proneness to injury another
contributing factor to my low draft grade – and while he put up passable numbers
in the games he started upon his return, he never came close to resembling a
QB1. Griffin was exposed as a mediocre quarterback in Washington this season and
almost certainly sank your fantasy team if you drafted him high. Hetherington:
Way back after Week 1, I stated that Cordarelle Patterson was a boom-or-bust WR
option and could be considered a sell-high candidate for owners. My reasoning
included an imminent quarterback change that would result in a production dip
and a run-first offence. Now, I’m not convinced having Teddy Bridgewater under
centre was the sole reason for Patterson’s decline, but if you offloaded the
second-year pro for a more consistent weapon, you likely got a major upgrade. At
a time when Patterson was coming off a game with over 100 yards from scrimmage
and a touchdown, one of my bolder calls of the season paid off. What was your
worst call this season? Fisher: After watching a very mediocre running back in
Knowshon Moreno put up monster numbers in a Peyton Manning-led offence, I
thought a decent back in Montee Ball could put up even bigger numbers for the
Broncos this season. At least I thought Ball was a decent running back. Ball was
a below average running back before he got injured, which eventually led to CJ
Anderson getting the job and halfway proving my point that a back better than
Moreno could do some real damage in Manniing’s backfield.
Joe Hart Man City Jersey. It just happened to
be a running back I’d previously never heard of. Hetherington: This one is
painful to admit as I look back on it. In mid-October, I declared Colin
Kaepernick to be the best dual-threat option over Russell Wilson and Cam Newton.
Kaepernick was coming off his best game of the season; throwing for 343 yards
and three touchdowns against the Rams defence. Kaepernick has not had a
multi-touchdown game since and has subsequently dropped completely off the
fantasy QB1 radar. Looking back, the correct choice would have been Wilson, but
even Newton would have been a better choice than the one I made. Who was the
biggest surprise performer this season? Fisher: DeMarco Murray staying healthy
all season was a big one, and Andrew Luck taking the reins as top quarterback
sooner than expected was surprising too, but Odell Beckham Jr. leads the list
for me. Beckham was topped only by the Steelers’ Antonio Brown, another pleasant
surprise in his own right, in average points per week by receivers. The rookie
first rounder was a fantasy force after recovering from a back injury that kept
him out of the lineup the first four weeks of the season. And the best part? He
did it in style! Hetherington: I’m going to call this one a tie between Le’Veon
Bell and Demarco Murray, both of whom were projected to finish outside the top
five of fantasy backs. The two will finish as by far the best running backs of
2014 and are currently separated by just 0.1 fantasy points (Bell has that
slight edge). Each are surprises for their own reason, however. Bell was set to
share the Steelers backfield with LeGarrette Blount – and did briefly – but took
over as the feature back, so much so that the Steelers to cut ties with Blount.
He also emerged as a major weapon in the passing game, receiving for more yards
than any other back. Murray’s value was considered relatively limited entering
the season by his injury history, yet he handled the biggest workload of his
career without missing a game. If you had either back on your team, you likely
had major success this season.

SAN ANTONIO -- "Beat the Heat!" had a whole new meaning in a sweltering start to
the NBA Finals.
Adidas Ultra Boost Yeezy Sole . The San
Antonio Spurs handled the conditions, and the team, and it sure helped when a
suffering LeBron James couldnt make it to the finish. Tim Duncan had 21 points
and 10 rebounds, and the Spurs beat the Heat 110-95 on Thursday night in Game 1
at steamy AT&T Center. With an air conditioning failure making it feel like
a sauna and causing James to battle cramps that knocked him out of the decisive
stretch, the Spurs pulled away to win the opener of the first finals rematch
since 1998. "After I came out of the game, they kind of took off," James said.
"And it was frustrating sitting out and not be able to help our team."
Manu Ginobili had 16 points and 11 assists, Tony Parker added 19 points and
eight assists and the Spurs -- 6 for 6 in NBA Finals Game 1s -- shot 59 per
cent. "Just very proud of my team," Parker said. "We kept believing, kept
pushing. We know its not easy." They host Game 2 on Sunday -- likely in cooler
conditions. James finished with 25 points but played only 33 minutes, and Miami
was outscored 36-17 in the fourth quarter. "It sucks not being out there for
your team, especially at this point in the season," James said. Dwyane Wade had
19 points and Chris Bosh added 18, but the Heat wilted in temperatures that
soared to 90 degrees in the second half. "It was tough on both teams," Spurs
coach Gregg Popovich said. "They were pretty dead. We tried to get guys in and
out. ... It was really hot out there." James, who had cramping issues two years
ago in the finals, had to ask for a break in the fourth quarter and was getting
treatment during a 15-4 Spurs run that turned around the game. James came back
in and made a basket that cut it to two points with about 4 minutes left, but
couldnt even run back on defence, promptly putting his hand up and lingering at
the baseline until help arrived to take him off for good. "I think it felt like
a punch in the gut when you see your leader limping like that back to the
bench," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. Danny Green followed with 3-pointer to
trigger what became a 16-3 run to end the game. "You could see the heat was
getting to a lot of guys. If I played as many minutes as he did, Id probably be
cramping up, too," said Green, who scored 11 of his 13 points in the final
quarter. The crowd chanted "Beat the Heat! Beat the Heat!" late in the game,
which was just what the fans themselves were trying to do. The Spurs said an
electrical failure for the power that runs the air conditioning system had
occurred. They apologized for the inconvenience but also seemed to poke fun of
it, playing songs with "hot" in the lyrics over the sound system. Fans were
trying to cool themselves on the hot night, a reminder of what it was like in
the old Boston Garden when the Celtics and Lakers got together. The Heat are the
first team since those Celtics of 1984-87 to get to four straight finals. They
are well-rested after a relatively easy roll through the Eastern Conference
playoffs, a key to keeping Wade healthy entering the finals. James was the MVP
of the series last year when the Heat rallied from five points down in the final
half-minute of regulation to win Game 6 in overtime, then won a Game 7 that was
close the whole way for their second straight championship. A rematch was widely
anticipated and was close almost throughout. The Heat led 86-79 after Boshs
four-point play with 9:38 remaining in the game, but it was all San Antonio from
there, and Wade said there were problems even beyond James absence. "Obviously,
tonight we wouldve loved to have him in there to finish the game, but weve got
to finish the game better," Wade said. The Spurs ended up extending their
NBA-record streak to eight straight home playoff wins by 15 or more points.
Their roster is filled with international players, such as Parker and Ginobili,
who both said they were used to playing without air conditioning overseas. Bosh,
scoreless in Game 7 last year, scored Miamis first five points in the Heats 7-2
start. But Ginobili came off the bench firing, making consecutive 3-pointers for
an 18-13 lead. Wade and James combined for six straight points before Ginobili
made another 3, and Patty Mills added one to close the first-quarter scoring and
give the Spurs a 26-20 advantage. The Spurs committed nine turnovers while
managing only 20 points in the third quarter, and Miami led 78-74 heading to the
fourth. Notes: James joined Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as the only players
with 4,000 points and 1,000 assists in the post-season. ... Ray Allen moved past
Bryant and Derek Fisher into second place on the career list with 49 3-pointers
in the NBA Finals. Robert Horry, a former Spurs forward, is the leader with 56.

that Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito shared as offensive linemen for the
Miami Dolphins was protecting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The roles are now
reversed. Tannehill is defending both Martin and Incognito, the central
characters in a bullying saga that has taken both offensive linemen off the
field and continued to evolve Wednesday when the NFL appointed a lawyer to
investigate possible misconduct within the team workplace. Shortly afterward,
many Dolphins spoke out about the matter for the first time -- and with at least
one questioning Martins motives. "I dont know why hes doing this," offensive
lineman Tyson Clabo said. "And the only person who knows why, his name is
Jonathan Martin." Two people familiar with the situation told The Associated
Press on Wednesday that Martin considered quitting football in the past, with
one of those people saying it was because of how other offensive linemen treated
him. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the organization has not
given specific reasons about his departure from the team. Incognito is
suspended. Martin left the Dolphins last week after a lunchroom prank, and
remains excused. "If you had asked Jon Martin a week before who his best friend
on the team was, he would have said Richie Incognito," Tannehill said, on
another day when dozens of reporters descended on the team complex. "The first
guy to stand up for Jonathan when anything went down on the field, any kind of
tussle, Richie was the first guy there. When they wanted to hang out outside of
football, who was together? Richie and Jonathan." The prank was a silly one --
when Martin sat down to eat, everyone else at the table stood up and walked
away. Its apparently a go-to comedic ploy for the Dolphins; Tannehill and
offensive lineman John Jerry both said theyve been targets of that very act in
the past, and that its typically just laughed off. Not this time. Martin left
the team on Oct. 28 after it happened. The story has continued spiraling ever
since, with questions about not only whether bullying was tolerated, but if
Incognito used racially charged terms against his teammate in phone and text
messages. Incognito is white. Martin is biracial. "Whats perceived is that he
was a racist, psychopath maniac," Clabo said, defending Incognito. "The reality
is Richie was a good teammate, and that Richie and Jonathan Martin were friends,
or appeared to be." Added Jerry, who is black, speaking about Incognitos alleged
use of a racial slur: "I know the type of person he is and I know he dont mean
it that way." How everything inside the Dolphins locker room is meant will now
be probed by Neew York attorney Ted Wells, the NFLs choice to dig into the
matter.
http://www.stansmithtrainers.uk/adidas-zx-flux-uk-sale.html.
Wells has experience with high-profile sports matters, having been involved with
special investigations into the Syracuse basketball sexual harassment case and
the NBA players union leadership dispute. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said the
team will co-operate fully with Wells investigation. "The type of culture that
Ive championed since the day Ive walked through these doors has been one of
honesty, respect and accountability to one another," Miami coach Joe Philbin
said. "I consider those to be hallmarks of this program, and I believe our
locker room reflects those beliefs. I believe in the men in our locker room, and
I believe in our coaching staff." Inside that locker room, players defended both
themselves and Philbin. "Whats been bothering me is kind of things that you hear
from outside this locker room about things that maybe undermine the integrity or
the leadership or the type of players and the class of guys that we have here
and the class of this organization," defensive end Cameron Wake said. "Ive been
here five years and coach Philbin has done nothing but turn this organization in
a positive direction from top to bottom." Wide receiver Brian Hartline said
seeing the franchise take hits over the saga was difficult to bear. "Now were
able to say our opinion and protect ourselves from being bullied by you guys
because we werent talking," Hartline said. "We werent fighting back. We never
said a word. We had to sit back and listen for a couple of days. Were kind of
tired of it." Clabo said theres a way the offensive linemen treat one another,
that no one is exempt from the ribbing and that its done to keep the mood light
in the room. "You have to earn the trust of your teammates in this league,"
Clabo said. "No one is going to walk in the door and just automatically be
somebody that you want to go into a game with and believe and trust and know
that that persons going to be there when hes supposed to be there. Those things
have to be earned." At this point, its unknown if Martin will have that trust --
or even if hell return to the Dolphins, period. Tannehill said that if either
Martin or Incognito returned, he would be inclined to try to move on from this
saga. "All I know about Richie is hes a great teammate to me," Tannehill said.
"I saw him being a great teammate all the time. Does he like to give guys a hard
time? Yes. Does he like to pester guys and have fun? Yes. But he brought a lot
of laughter to this locker room, he brought a lot of cohesiveness to this locker
room and he was the best teammate that I could ask for." ------

David Desharnais on Wednesday. Desharnais scored the tying goal with 37 seconds
left in the third period and added a goal in the shootout and the Montreal
Canadiens rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Devils. "Were finding ways to win
games," Desharnais said. "They took the lead and we had to open up things. I
just go in there and try to score (in the shootout). (Devils goalie
Cory Schneider) opened up his leg and I put it right there." Desharnais tying
goal in the third was reviewed by the NHL to see if he had lifted his stick too
high in redirecting the slap shot taken by teammate Brian Gionta. "I was sure it
was a goal," Desharnais said. "I tipped one earlier this year that was a little
higher than that, so there was no doubt." Lars Eller also scored in third period
and shootout for Montreal, which also beat the Devils in Montreal on Monday
night. Reid Boucher, credited with an assist on Michael Ryders goal in the third
period, scored for the Devils in the shootout, breaking a string of 20 straight
missed chances by the Devils, who are 0-5 in shootouts this season. The Devils
have lost nine straight shootouts, dating back to March 15 in Philadelphia.
Devils coach Pete DeBoer picked Boucher to take the first attempt in the
shootout, saying that Boucher "was feeling pretty good about his game and it
made sense." Boucher admitted to being nervous at first, but he seemed to play
better and better as the game went on. "I just heard a couple minutes ago (that
his shootout goal snapped a drought)," Boucher said. "We had the lead and it was
unfortunate they scored that goal at the end. I was pretty surprised (to be
picked). Its a privilege and I wanted to capitalize on my opportunity. A quick
fake shot, I kind of took a step over and shot a low blocker." Patrik Elias
unassisted goal at 18:54 had given the Devils a 3-2 edge, but Desharnais scored
for Montreal and forced overtime with 37 seconds to go. Elias had the final
chance to tie it for the Devvils in the shootout, but couldnt beat Canadiens
goalie Peter Budaj, who ended the game with 31 saves.
Adidas Springblade Solde. "Hes a great
shooter," Budaj said. "I was just trying to keep my ground and win that battle.
I was able to come up with the big save." The teams combined for five goals in
the third period. The Devils led 2-1 before Eller scored on a backhand to tie
the score at 2-2 at 16:10. Andrei Loktionov and Michael Ryder each scored in the
third period to give the Devils a 2-1 lead. Boucher assisted on Ryders goal.
Gionta scored in the first period to give Montreal a 1-0 lead and Budaj made it
hold until Loktionov scored 4:19 into the third period to tie it at 1-1. Ryders
seventh goal off a pass from Boucher broke the tie at 9:50. Loktionov received a
pass from Marek Zidlicky before he spun inside and let loose a sailing shot past
Budaj for a 1-1 tie. Ryders shot beat Budaj to the far side. Gionta scored at
10:36 of the first on a pinpoint pass from the outer edge of the left circle by
Daniel Briere. Gionta skated onto the puck at the crease and knocked it past
Schneider inside the far post. Seconds before Giontas goal, Devils rookie
defenceman Eric Gelinas had his shot at an open net bang off the right post.
Cam Janssen of the Devils and Brandon Prust of the Canadiens squared off in a
fight 2:35 into the first period. Janssen had hit Alex Galchenyuk against the
boards before he was challenged by Prust. Both received five-minute penalties
for fighting. Montreal held a 13-9 shot advantage in the first. Boucher got off
his first career shot in the opening seconds of the second period, a slap shot
that Budaj saved. The Devils pressed forward in the second period, and held a
10-7 shot advantage. Loktionov had a breakaway, but was stopped by Budaj. Budaj
also made a save on Jaromir Jagrs shot with eight seconds to go. NOTES:

MIAMI -- In their fitful, laborious search for a general manager, the Miami
Dolphins finally found someone to say yes: Dennis Hickey.
http://www.pascherstansmith.fr/adidas-originals-superstar-pas-cher/superstar-foundation-france.html
. The longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers executive accepted the job Sunday, ending a
search that lasted nearly three weeks. Hickeys hiring came after the Dolphins
were rejected by several candidates. New England Patriots director of player
personnel Nick Caserio and Tennessee Titans vice-president of player personnel
Lake Dawson turned down job offers only hours before Miami reached out to
Hickey, while Cleveland Browns assistant general manager Ray Farmer withdrew
from consideration Thursday. Several others declined invitations to interview as
a replacement for Jeff Ireland, whose six-year stint as general manager ended
Jan. 7 when he and owner Stephen Ross agreed to part ways. Hickey has been with
the Buccaneers for 18 seasons, including the past three as director of player
personnel. He was their director of college scouting for six years. He was not
interviewed for Tampa Bays GM job when it became open after this season. The
Bucs won four division titles and one Super Bowl championship during his time
with them, but went 28-52 over the past five years and had spotty draft results
during that span. Hickey was among eight candidates interviewed by Miami, with
Ross aide Matt Higgins and executive vice-president of football administration
Dawn Aponte helping the owner with the screening process. The other finalist was
Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine, who worked under Ireland. Some
candidates and potential candidates expressed concern about the Dolphins power
structure, including the role of Aponte, who clashed with Ireland. In a news
release to announce the hiring, the Dolphins said Hickey will oversee all
aspects of football operations and report directly to Ross. Coach Joe Philbin
will continue to report directly to Ross as well, while Apontes place in the
chain of command wasnt spelled out. Ross loyalty to Philbin, who is 15-17 in two
seasons with Miami, may have been a stumbling block for some candidates. In a
statement, Ross cited Hickeys willingness to work with Philbin as a factor in
the hiring. "When we started the search, I outlined qualities that I was looking
for in this position," Ross said. "These included a collaborative team-first
person who can work with Joe, demonstrated player evaluation expertise, and
someone who is open-minded and creative. Dennis fit all of these criteria." The
Titans Dawson released a statement saying he had declined Miamis job offer. "I
felt Stephen is a great owner, passionate and wants to win, but the details of
the offer didnt align with my vision," Dawson said. "I turned it down because it
wasnt an ideal fit for my family and me." So Ross turned to Hickey, who was
interviewed for the first time 10 days into the search. The protracted process
reinforced Ross reputation for having difficulty closing deals with the
Dolphins. In the past, the New York real estate billionaire has unsuccessfully
courted Peyton Manning, Jim Harbaugh and Jeff Fisher. Hickeys task will be to
upgrade the roster after Miami collapsed late in the season to blow a playoff
berth and finish 8-8. The Dolphins havent been above .500 since 2008, the
longest such stretch in franchise history. The tumultuous 2013 season included a
locker-room bullying scandal that drew national scrutiny, and a report on the
NFL investigation into the case will be released after the Super Bowl. "The
Dolphins certainly have talented players," Hickey said in a statement, "and I am
eager to hit the ground running with our personnel and coaching staffs. We will
all work together to construct a team that will make our organization and fans
proud." Hickey will be introduced at a news conference Tuesday. AP Sports Writer
Teresa M. Walker in Nashville, Tenn. contributed to this report.

.C. -- Al Jefferson is happy he didnt make the All-Star game.KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
Slugger Jose Abreu, All-Star left-hander Chris Sale and closer Matt Lindstrom
are on the disabled list. But the Chicago White Sox are still finding ways to
win. Adam Dunn hit a three-run homer and the White Sox defeated the Kansas City
Royals 7-6 on Tuesday night. "Any time you can expand a lead I think that those
are a lot more meaningful," Dunn said. The White Sox needed those extra runs as
the Royals answered with three in the eighth and one in the ninth. "Six runs
were not enough," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "The eighth inning put a damper
on it. We were trying to keep the score at two runs. "This is a club you go up
and down their lineup, you make a mistake and those guys are going to hit it a
long way. I guess you call it we caught a break, but it hasnt helped us any
missing (Jose) Abreu. Hes got a ton of power, too." Abreu leads the majors with
15 homers, but Dunn and Paul Konerko have hit three-run homers in the first two
games of this series. "Obviously, hes really good," Dunn said of Abreu. "I think
Paul and I hopefully can put some runs on the board." The White Sox out-homered
the Royals 5-0 in winning the first two games of this series. "Theyve got a lot
of power," Royals designated hitter Billy Butler said. "They live and die by the
long ball. They hit a lot of home runs and when they dont, they usually lose."
Andre Rienzo (4-0) limited the Royals to two runs and five hits over six
innings. He struck out a career-high eight. "He had some really good stuff
today," Dunn said. "Hes kept us in pretty much every ball game. ... When he has
three or four pitches working like he did tonight, hes tough." Ronald Belisario
gave up a run in the ninth, he stranded the tying run at second base to pick up
his first save of the season. The Royals record dropped to 5-15 against American
League Central opponents. Gordon Beckham and Conor Gillaspie, who each had three
hits, singled before Dunn homered in the eighth off right-hander Aaron Crow, who
had allowed two three-run homers in hhis past two appearances.

. Beckham has hit safely in 13 of his past 15 games, while Gillaspie increased
his average to .347. Royals rookie right-hander Yordano Ventura (2-4) took the

LOS ANGELES -- Bermane Stiverne completed his long journey to a heavyweight
title with one more punishing victory.
Tom Heaton Jersey . Stiverne stopped Chris
Arreola in the sixth round Saturday night, claiming the WBC heavyweight title
belt vacated by Vitali Klitschko. Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs), who was born in
Haiti but grew up in Montreal, dropped Arreola twice in the sixth, and he was
punishing Arreola again when referee Jack Reiss stopped the fight with 58
seconds left in the round. The Klitschko brothers had held every major
heavyweight title for the past six years. Vitalis retirement into Ukrainian
politics in December opened the WBC belt for the 35-year-old Stiverne, a late
bloomer who hasnt lost in 13 consecutive fights. After beating Arreola by
decision last year, Stiverne hadnt fought in nearly 13 months while waiting for
Klitschkos decision to retire. The wait was worth it. "I studied and studied,"
Stiverne said. "I watched my opponent. I knew I could knock him out. ... I was
patient. The plan was to let him get comfortable, and he soon as he gets real
comfortable, then crack him. And thats what I did." Stiverne dropped Arreola
(36-4) for the first time with a sweeping right hand to Arreolas left temple,
sending Arreola wobbling and crashing to the canvas. Arreola rose and kept
fighting, but Stiverne put him headfirst into the ropes moments later with
another combination. After Reiss stopped the fight, Stiverne wept with the WBCs
green belt around his shoulder while promoter Don King celebrated at the Galen
Center on USCs downtown campus. "I knew it was a wrap," Stiverne said. "The way
I trained, I knew I could knock him out because Ive got the power." Stiverne won
a lop-sided decision over Arreola last April, breaking Arreolas nose in the
third round. Arreola, who acknowledged training poorly for that fight, felt he
lost the rematch when he got hit by the same punch that finished the first
fight. "He has a tremendous right hand, thats exactly what it was," Arreola
said. "I felt like I was winning the fight. He just got me with the same right
hand. Couldnt get away from it, and after that, its all she wrote." The
well-travelled Stiverne, who fought for Canada as an amateur boxer and trained
in Florida earlier in his pro career, worked out of Floyd Mayweathers gym in Las
Vegas for this bout. He is the first heavyweight champion of Haitian descent and
the first champ not named Klitschko since Samuel Peter, who was stopped by
Vitali Klitschko in 2008. Wladimir Klitschko, who holds the other three major
heavyweight titles, is eager to claim all four belts by fighting the winner. But
before that lucrative bout, Stiverne must fight unbeaten Deontay Wilder, the
U.S. Olympic bronze medallist and the WBCs mandatory challenger. "With all due
respect, I dont give a damn about Wilder or Klitschko right now," Stiverne said.
"Right now, its about what I won." Arreola has lost both of his shots at the WBC
heavyweight title, getting pounded by Vitali Klitschko in 2009 just up the
street at Staples Center. The Los Angeles-area native was attempting to become
the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent. "I could have got back up
plenty of times," Arreola said. "Was the fight stopped a little early? I believe
so. But then again, the referee is there to protect me from myself. But I felt
like I was winning the fight." Both fighters took advantage of the small
17-by-17-foot ring at the Galen Center, which was hosting its first boxing card.
Stiverne landed the biggest shots in the opening round, but Arreola dominated
the second and third rounds with a withering series of combinations, trapping
Stiverne against the ropes. Stiverne laughed off the punishment and allowed
Arreola to keep moving forward, content to counterpunch. "I wasnt hurt,"
Stiverne said. "He actually punched me, my mouth was open, and he busted my lip.
I was trying to find out if there was food or something in my teeth, but it was
my lip. He didnt hurt me in the head." Stiverne hasnt lost since July 2007, when
he was stopped by Demetrice King. He fought to a majority draw with Charles
Davis in 2009, but has stopped five of his last seven opponents.
