KANSAS CITY, Kan.
Cheap Robert Quinn Jersey . -- Aurelien
Collin thought he had given Sporting Kansas City a hard-earned draw with the
hottest team in Major League Soccer. Omar Bravo ultimately did it. Bravo scored
on a penalty kick in the second minute of stoppage time, just a few minutes
after Collins goal was disallowed by the referees, and Sporting Kansas City
walked away with a 2-2 tie with the Los Angeles Galaxy on Monday night before a
record crowd at Livestrong Sporting Park. Bravo earned the penalty kick when
Frankie Hejduk was called for a handball in the box. He got Galaxy goalkeeper
Josh Saunders diving to his right and deftly punched the ball into the open net.
"I was a little bit unlucky, to be honest," Hejduk said. "It wasnt like I was
trying to do a handball." The equalizer came after David Beckham got a yellow
card for arguing the spot of the kick. "Not to take anything away from Los
Angeles, theyre a very good team -- theyre the best team in the league right now
-- but we had more at the end than them," said Sporting Kansas City coach Peter
Vermes, whose club is on quite a roll of its own. "We deserved the point." They
may have deserved more than just one. Collin appeared to tie the game when he
leaped into the air and headed home a pass from just in front of the Galaxy net.
Collin took off in a sprint to celebrate the goal and didnt realize it had been
disallowed until the crowd started booing. The referees had ruled him offside.
"Everybody saw the video. There was no offside," Collin said. "What do you want
me to tell you? It was another mistake by the referees. ... Theyre human, you
know? We have to live with it." The late drama overshadowed a stellar game by
Sean Franklin, who scored both goals for the Galaxy (14-3-10). Julio Cesar had
the other goal for Sporting Kansas City (9-8-10). "We had the majority of the
play in the game, had the majority of the chances," Beckham said. "But we also
gave too many balls away, gave too many restarts. When you do that against a
team thats pretty good in the air, it causes problems." Franklin gave Los
Angeles the lead in the 25th minute when he punched home a header from Omar
Gonzalez to hush the record crowd of 20,512 at the new Livestrong Sporting Park.
Cesar equalized for Sporting Kansas City in the 72nd minute, but Beckham found
Franklin on the wing just two minutes later. Franklin barely took a dribble
before unloading a low, hard shot past Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy
Nielsen to regain the lead. Short-lived as it may have been. "We did a lousy job
over the last 15 minutes of the game. No excuses," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena
said. "Our most experienced players were making lousy plays and we almost lost
the game." It was a testy affair between teams fighting for playoff positioning.
Landon Donovan, who came on as a second-half substitute, Hejduk and Beckham were
shown yellow cards for the Western Division-leading Galaxy. Roger Espinoza,
Graham Zusi and Collin each received a yellow card for Sporting Kansas City,
which remains second in the Eastern Division. Davy Arnaud came on for Espinoza
in the 64th minute for the first time since undergoing sports hernia surgery.
The longtime Sporting Kansas City captain made the most of his first appearance
on the pitch at the teams new stadium, helping to set up Cesars goal in the
second half. "It was good to have him back," Vermes said.

The Broncos braved the cold for their first full practice of Super Bowl week,
working in pads for nearly two hours after a 30-minute walkthrough session
Wednesday. Denver practiced on the synthetic turf outdoor field at the New York
Jets training facility. By the end of practice, the temperature dipped to 21
degrees. "It was great," Broncos coach John Fox said after practice. "Were
pretty much weather-proof. We practice in this stuff all the time. Being in
Denver, weve played in a few different elements. We practiced numerous times in
single digit, played in single digit, played in wind. Weve practiced in snow
many times. Were pretty much ready for anything." Fox has chosen not to use the
indoor field at the Jets plush headquarters for practices this week, opting for
the type of natural elementss that will greet his team at Met Life Stadium on
Super Sunday.
Cheap Jared Goff Jersey. . Fox was pleased
with the flow after the travel and various commitments connected to playing in a
Super Bowl. Wednesday is typically when the focus toward the game increases,
given the full-scale practices. "I wanted to see how well they would re-boot,
get re-charged and practice what weve put in," Fox said. "They recalled it and
it went very well. We had a very good practice." The Broncos had a sense of
normalcy on a few levels. Peyton Manning, as usual, was in command and precise
with his throws. He seemed unaffected by the elements. "Very sharp," Fox said.
"What Ive noticed, he had to get used to weather over the past two years. I
think hes done an unbelievable job, which I think people forget."

Tuesday when Jarvis Jenkins and Rob Jackson returned to the Washington Redskins
roster after their four-game suspensions. Defensive end Jenkins and outside
linebacker Jackson were on the practice field for a team workout that focused
mostly on conditioning before a five-day, bye-week break. "Its good to have them
back," coach Mike Shanahan said. "They were out there today in practice --
getting back in football shape. I know theyve been working out hard, but its
good to get started after the bye week with both of them." Jenkins tested
positive for a banned performance enhancing substance, while Jackson was
suspended under the NFLs drug abuse policy. Both said their violations were
unintentional -- Jenkins said he took an over-the-counter supplement that
contained an "obscure substance" not on the label, while Jackson blamed his
positive test on pain medication he took for a toothache. Both received
four-game suspensions. Because of the league rules covering the different drug
policies, Jackson was permitted tto be at Redskins Park during his suspension,
while Jenkins wasnt allowed to have any contact with the team.

"That kind of made it a little bit better." What he saw on TV was a defence that
couldve used him -- as well as Jackson -- during a 1-3 start. Jenkins entered
training camp as a projected starter, and Jackson is a role-playing playmaker
who had four interceptions and 4 1/2 sacks last year. The Redskins are allowing
440.5 yards per game, second-worst in the NFL. "It was definitely tough,"
Jenkins said, "knowing that I probably could help those guys overcome that." To
make room for Jenkins and Jackson on the 53-man roster, the Redskins released
kicker John Potter and defensive end Phillip Merling. Potter made 3 of 4 field
goals over three games filling in for Kai Forbath, who was sidelined with a sore
groin in his kicking leg.

Major League Baseball has returned to Montreal since the Expos moved to
Washington in 2005. The last professional game played at the Big O was on Sept.
29, 2004, when the Expos were defeated 9-1 by the Florida Marlins. According to
The Canadian Press, Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre will throw the ceremonial first
pitch at tonights game. The mayor also plans to meet with John McHale Jr., an
executive with Major League Baseball, who will be in Montreal watching the
games. Coderre has been involved in the process of getting a baseball team back
in his city. Late Hall of Famer Gary Carter will be honoured in a ceremony
before the game, with his widow and family slated to attend. Carter died in
February 2012 after a battle with brain cancer. He was 57. Before Saturdays
game, an event will be held to celebrate the Expos squad that was considered the
best team in baseball before a players strike brought the 1994 season to a
premature close. The 94 team had baseballs best record (74-40) when the season
ended. The Jays will welcome Jose Reyes and Edwin Encarnacion back into the
lineup, as both have been cleared to play in this weekends series. Reyes has
been out of action since he suffered a mild strain in his left hamstring during
Saturdays game against Detroit. He has been listed as day-to-day, but the club
announced Thursday that he will be available. Encarnacion was struck by a pitch
on his right forearm during Wednesdays game against the Yankees. He was removed,
but has since received a clean bill of health. Encarnacion would have been
available to play Thursday vs. Philadelphia, but the club opted to give him a
day of rest.

Paul Goldschmidt seems to hit whatever Tim Lincecum throws at him. So does
Aaron Hill. Neither one is about to question why. Theyre just going to enjoy the
success while it lasts. Hill drove in two runs, and Goldschmidt had two hits off
Lincecum, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks send the San Francisco Giants to
their sixth straight loss, 4-1 on Friday night. "You dont want to take it
lightly because baseball can turn at any moment," said Hill, who is 11 for 19
against Lincecum. "He is a great pitcher and had a great career, and you dont
want to make it sound like its easy. Hes a great pitcher and its not easy." The
Giants still lead the NL West, but have lost nine of 10 to see a lead that was
once 9 1-2 games dwindle to less than four. The last-place Diamondbacks extended
San Franciscos misery behind a gritty effort by Josh Collmenter (5-4) and by
knocking around Lincecum (5-5). Hill had run-scoring hits in the fourth and
fifth innings, and Goldschmidt had a single and double to raise his average to
.577 against the two-time Cy Young Award winner. Collmenter fought through five
innings to win for the first time in four starts. Arizonas bullpen picked it up
from there. Three pitchers worked scoreless innings, and Addison Reed had a
perfect ninth to close out his 17th save. It was Arizonas third win in 10 games
and another frustrating loss in what is becoming a long stream of them for the
Giants. "Its been that way here through this tough streak," Giants manager Bruce
Bochy said. "We are missing the big hit, kind of keep the line moving. We had
some great at-bats, stretched him (Collmenter) out, but he dodged some bullets
there." Collmenter had lost two straight starts, allowing six runs in six
innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers his last time out. The right-hander
laboured through his night, needing 31 pitches to get through the first.

walked two in the fifth inning and got out of that by striking out Sandoval and
getting Michael Morse to fly out to deep centre. Collmenter allowed a run and
four hits, struck out four and walked four while throwing a season-high 109
pitches. "I just continued to battle," Collmenter said. "I dont think Ive ever
had a clean, crisp outing against these guys for whatever reason. But I felt as
good as I have in the last few starts and was able to make some good pitches."
Lincecum was solid in his previous two starts, allowing five combined runs after
giving up eight against Cincinnati on June 3. Like Collmenter, he struggled.
Unlike Collmenter, he didnt always get out of it. Arizona scored two runs off
the right-hander in the fourth inning, on Hills single and a double by
Martin Prado. Arizona added a run in the fifth on a run-scoring triple by
Chris Owings, who was thrown out at the plate while trying for an
inside-the-park homer. Hill made it 4-1 with a sacrifice fly that scored
Goldschmidt, who improved to 15 for 26 against Lincecum with his second hit of
the night, a double off the wall in left-centre. Lincecum allowed four runs and
seven hits in six innings. "I left too many pitches over the plate, and you saw
what they did with them," Lincecum said. NOTES: The Diamondbacks signed

TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays homestand doesnt get any easier tonight with the
arrival of the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers to begin a three-game weekend
series.
Maglia Italiana Luca Antonelli . R.A. Dickey
faces Anibal Sanchez in the opener. Toronto was looking to gain ground on AL
East-leading Baltimore to kick off the week, but lost two of three to the
Orioles. That left the Blue Jays five games out of first place heading into
tonights action. The Jays were bested 2-1 in Thursdays rubber match, with
Anthony Gose homering and J.A. Happ giving up a two-run blast to Caleb Joseph in
the fourth inning that was the difference in the clubs fifth loss in six games.
Happ yielded five hits and struck out a career-high 12 over eight innings. "Our
lineup is what it is right now," said Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. "Some
nights youre going to get that big hit, some nights youre not." On the same day
that Toronto placed third baseman Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list with
a strained left oblique, designated hitter Melky Cabrera was hit on the right
elbow by a pitch in the first inning on Thursday. He tried to remain in the
game, but exited in the third and is day-to-day after x-rays came back negative.
The Blue Jays swept a three-game series in Detroit from June 3-5 after losing
five of seven to the Tigers a season ago. The Tiger are coming off losing three
of four against the Yankees in New York, despite running out three former Cy
Young Award winners -- including David Price in his Detroit debut -- and a
13-game winner in Rick Porcello. Porcello took the 1-0 loss in Thursdays finale
despite scattering nine hits over seven innings of one-run ball. His offense did
little to help, going 0- for-4 with runners in scoring position one game after
an 0-for-7 showing in such situations in Wednesdays setback. "Our guys pitched
great, but as well as we pitched and played defense, our offense didnt match
up," Tigers catcher Alex Avila remarked. Detroit saw its lead atop the American
League Central over the Kansas City Royals trimmed to 2 1/2 games and will pin
its hopes tonight on Sanchez. The right-hander has split his last six starts,
going 3-3 with a 4.93 earned run average, but is coming off a dominating 4-0 win
over Colorado on Sunday. Sanchez hurled seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball
while striking out a season-high 12 batters without issuing a walk. Sanchez
became the first Tigers pitcher to fan 12 or more without a walk since
Max Scherzer on June 17, 2012 against the Rockies. "He used his fastball
perfectly," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "He threw it in, he threw it out
and as a result, all of his other pitches were much more effective." The
30-year-old Sanchez is 8-5 on the year with a 3.37 ERA and did not get a
decision versus Toronto on June 3 despite seven scoreless innings. He also gave
up just two hits in that one, striking out five to no walks. Sanchez is 2-2 in
his career with a 4.20 ERA versus Toronto, which counters with its own former Cy
Young winner in Dickey. However, the knuckleball specialist is just 9-11 with a
4.03 ERA this year after getting denied a third straight winning start on
Saturday. Dickey instead lost an 8-2 decision in Houston, charged with five runs
on nine hits over seven-plus innings. The 39-year-old righty is 6-2 with a save
and 3.84 ERA in 16 previous meetings, including nine starts, versus Detroit.
That includes a win on June 4 as he yielded two runs -- on solo homers to
Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler -- seven hits and four walks over just five
innings.

Nike Air Max 2015 Mens Sale . PETERSBURG,
Fla. -- Nyjer Morgan used his speed to get two key infield hits early in the
game. His rare long ball provided an important late run. Morgan and
Michael Bourn both drove in two runs, Josh Tomlin won his second straight start
and the Cleveland Indians beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 on Sunday. "He always
plays with energy," Indians manager Terry Francona said about Morgan. "We were
looking for a way to get him in there today and Im glad we did." Morgan had an
RBI infield single that rolled to a stop near the line between home and third
before Bourn hit a two-run double as the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the second.
Morgan also hit his first major league homer since July 30, 2012, an
eighth-inning solo shot that made it 6-2. "I had to get something out of the
infield today," a smiling Morgan said. Tomlin (2-0), who pitched just once in
the big leagues last season after right elbow surgery in 2012, allowed two runs
and six hits over six innings in his second outing this year. "The guys made the
plays in the outfield and the infield, and thats the reason I won a game,"
Tomlin said. Cleveland took two of three in the series after entering with a
seven-game road skid. "This is a tough place to play," Francona said. "Finding a
way to beat them here is great. Ive sat in this chair too many times and been
miserable." Matt Joyce homered and had two RBIs for the Rays, who went 1-5 on
their homestand. Chris Archer (2-2) gave up four runs and eight hits in
five-plus innings. "I think very simply put, were not playing the calibre of
baseball right now that is a winning calibre of baseball," Rays third baseman
Evan Longoria said. A three-run eighth pulled the Rays to 6-5. Ben Zobrist
scored the first run in the inning when reliever Marc Rzepczynski made an errant
throw to second on what could have been an inning-ending double play. Cody Allen
allowed Wil Myers RBI single and hit Desmond Jennings with a pitch to load the
bases. Yunel Escobar hit a sacrifice fly. "I had plenty of time. ... I rushed
it," Rzepczynski said. "When I get those, I get super excited. Throw better
sinkers to second than I do home sometimes." Bryan Shaw pitched a perfect ninth
in place of demoted closer John Axford for his second save. Yan Gomes hit a
leadoff homer that chased Archer during a two-run sixth that gave Cleveland a
5-2 advantage. Morgan reached on a bunt single off Brad Boxberger when a call
was overturned on replay. Morgan advanced on a balk and wild pitch, then scored
the innings second run on Mike Aviles sacrifice fly. Joyce hit a first-inning
solo homer off Tomlin. Joyce, who is 6 for 12 with two homers against the
right-hander, had an RBI single in the fourth. Cleveland threatened in the first
but Michael Brantley was thrown out trying to score on Carlos Santanas two-out
double. Santana went 2 for 3 with two walks and increased his batting average 12
points to .148. Brantley extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a
third-inning single. NOTES: Francona tweaked his rotation for a three-game

CHICAGO -- When the Los Angeles Clippers lost All-Star Chris Paul to a separated
shoulder, they turned to Blake Griffin for leadership.
Yaya Toure Football Shirt . And he has
responded by stepping up his play. Griffin had 26 points, 13 rebounds and seven
assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 112-95 victory over the Chicago
Bulls on Friday night. The Clippers improved to 7-3 since Paul, who was
averaging 19.6 points and 11.2 assists, was injured. "Blake doesnt run from a
challenge," Clippers guard Jamal Crawford said. "Hes one of the hardest workers
Ive seen." The Clippers enjoyed a strong outside game, opening up Griffin on the
inside, and he finished with his 27th double-double. "(I want to be) a leader
for us, knocking down shots and being able to mix up my game, going inside when
I felt the need to and going outside when I needed to," Griffin said. Crawford
added 19 points for the Clippers, who had six players score in double figures
and shot 54 per cent from the field -- including 13 for 21 on 3-pointers.
DeAndre Jordan added 10 points and 12 rebounds. "They were open, the right guy
was taking them, all of our 3-point shooters," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said.
"They made them, and that opened it up for Blake." Carlos Boozer scored 22
points for the Bulls, who snapped a three-game winning streak. "I dont think any
aspect of our defence was any good," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. The
Clippers have won four straight against the Bulls, and improved to 3-2 on their
seven-game trip. Chicago cut the lead to eight in the third quarter but
Darren Collison answered with two quick baskets and the Clippers led 92-80
heading to the fourth. Los Angeles got off to a strong start. The Clippers shot
10 for 14 on 3s and finished 64.1 per cent overall from the field in the first
half to take a 68-55 lead at halftime. Jordans dunk gave the Clippers a 60-39
lead, their largest margin, with 3:52 left before halftime. Los Angeles was 7
for 8 from beyond the arc in the first quarter to set a franchise record for 3s
in a quarter. The Clippers led 41-26 after shooting 73.7 per cent in the period.
"Thats kind of what we talked about, especially defensively," Griffin said about
the quick start. "But we still didnt do a good job in the first quarter. We were
just so hot early. We got that lead and kept it. Especially on the road, you
never want to come out sluggish." In the teams previous meeting, the Clippers
routed the Bulls 121-82 on Nov. 24 for their worst loss of the season in the
first game after Derrick Rose suffered a season-ending knee injury. The Clippers
were averaging 105.4 points, fifth in the league. The Bulls were one of the NBAs
top defensive teams, holding opponents to 92.5 points per game before Friday.
"Giving up 3s, we strive for five or less," Bulls forward Taj Gibson said. "That
was just crazy. We kept fighting. But once they give a team like that
confidence, its hard to shut them off." J.J. Redick scored 18 points and shot 4
for 7 from 3-point range. Collison, playing despite a sprained toe, had 17
points. Boozer, back from a one-game absence due to a sore left calf, scored 16
points in the first quarter. Gibson added 18 points, Mike Dunleavy had 17 and
Joakim Noah 12 as the Bulls shot 43 per cent from the field and 6 for 19 from
3-point range. The Bulls were without Kirk Hinrich, who missed his second
consecutive game with a strained right hamstring. "I think we were passive,"
Bulls guard Jimmy Butler said. "I dont like the word soft, but I think we were a
little bit of that too. They got the shots they wanted to get. We didnt make it
too tough for them at all." NOTES: Rivers said the Bulls shouldnt let Thibodeau
get away. Thibodeau was on Rivers coaching staff from 2007-10 with the Boston
Celtics. "I think it would be nuts not to have him here," Rivers said. "Hes the
best coach, one of the best coaches, in the league, so if you have that, thats
an asset. And I dont think any right-minded organization would allow that asset
to leave. Because with all this adversity theyve had with injuries, if you allow
that one to leave, things will fall apart -- and that would be pretty much a
guarantee." Thibodeau declined to address rumours about his future. ... Hinrich
will possibly miss the Bulls trip to Charlotte on Saturday as he continues to
receive treatment, Thibodeau said. ... Thibodeau said it would be a great
experience for Rose to play for Team USA if he is healthy. Rose was one of 28
players named to the 2014-16 national team pool. The FIBA Basketball World Cup
will be Aug. 30-Sept. 14 in Spain. Rose is out for the NBA season after
undergoing knee surgery on Nov. 25. ... Thibodeau picked up a technical foul
with the Bulls trailing 86-74 with 2:10 left in the third quarter.

.Y. -- Jeff Sluman shot a 6-under 65 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead after
the first round of the Senior Players Championship, the Champions Tours final
major of the season. Sluman, the winner last month at Pebble Beach, had seven
birdies and a bogey on Westchester Country Clubs tree-lined West Course. Gary
Hallberg and Peter Senior opened with 66s. Jay Haas, the 2009 winner, and
Corey Pavin and Michael Allen were two strokes back at 67, and Fred Couples,
defending champion Mark OMeara and Tommy Armour III had 68s. Victorias
Jim Rutledge and Rod Spittle of Niagara Falls, Ont., both shot a 74 to finish
the day at 3 over. Tom Watson struggled, shooting a 76. Sluman had seven birdies
in an 11-hole stretch from No. 4 to 14, including three in a row on Nos. 12-14.
He bogeyed the par-3 16th, and then closed with two pars. Sluman holed a 45-foot
putt on the 12th, chipped in from 25 feet with a 9-iron on 13, then made a
three-footer on 14. "I made one of those bombs," Sluman said. "I was just trying
to two-putt and it fell into the hole. I followed it up on 13 from 25 feet.
Making a 45-footer and following it up with a 25-footer is not something Im used
to." Couples, playing in his first event since undergoing non-traditional back
treatment six weeks ago in Germany, was 5 under through 11 holes, but dropped
three strokes with bogeys on Nos. 12-14. He birdied No. 16 to get back to 3
under. "If I hadnt gone to Germany, I wouldnt be playing right now," Couples
said. "Id still be trying to see if it would thaw out and I dont think it will.
So thats basically why Im here after going there." Westchester Country Club was
the site of a PGA Tour event from 1963-2007 and most players had fond memories
of the course that has changed little since. "Absolutely, you have a comfort
zone," Sluman said. "Anytime you have played at a place and I would guess Ive
probably played 80 rounds here and I should have a pretty good idea of what you
need to do under all conditions. Haas agreed. "Theres nothing like the
familiarity that we have on courses weve played many, many times," Haas said.
"Ive had that on the PGA but out here the courses are usually different and Ive
only been out six or seven years and theres just a tighter window that you have
to learn the golf courses. So its nice to come back to a course that we have
played before." OMeara won last year at TPC Potomac in Maryland, beating Allen
on the first hole of a playoff.

WASHINGTON -- Ian Desmond keyed a 15-hit attack with a three-run homer,
Stephen Strasburg pitched six solid innings and the Washington Nationals
defeated the Texas Rangers 9-2 on Friday night.
http://www.soccerwalesshop.com/ .
Jayson Werth and Denard Span had three hits each for Washington, which had lost
6 of 7. Previously slumping, Washingtons offence has 14 runs and 30 hits in its
last two games. Strasburg (4-4) allowed two unearned runs, though his error led
to them, and six hits. He struck out nine and walked one. It was the eighth
straight start in which Strasburg has pitched at least six innings and allowed
three runs or less. He improved his ERA to a season-low 3.15. Adrian Beltre had
three hits for Texas, which fell to 6-3 on its 11-game road trip. Rangers
starter Colby Lewis (4-4) allowed six runs, five earned, and nine hits in taking
his first road loss. Strasburg had thrown 88 pitches when manager Matt Williams
lifted him in the sixth for a pinch-hitter with two outs and two on. The moved
paid off when Tyler Moores double to left scored both runners, increasing
Washingtons lead to 6-2. The Nationals added two runs in the seventh and one in
the eighth. Washington trailed 2-0 in the fourth when Werth and Adam LaRoche
singled with one out. Lewis struck out Wilson Ramos, but Desmond sent a 1-0
fastball into the seats in centre field for his 10th home run. Span used his
speed to make it 4-2 after he singled in the fifth. Running on the pitch, he
kept going around second on Anthony Rendons grounder to third. First baseman
Mitch Morelands throw back to the third was wild and Span scored on the error.
Texas took the lead during a bizarre second inning. Beltre doubled leading off,
but Strasburg stuck out the next two hitters and should have been out of the
inning when Leonys Martin hit a slow bouncer to the mound. The ball bounced off
Strasburgs glove, then his head, and fell to the ground. He still had a chance
to get Martin but missed a stab at the ball. Martin was safe on the error with
Beltre moving to third. Strasburg then surrendered RBI singles to the Nos. 8 and
9 hitters, Rougned Odor and Lewis. Lewis hit snapped an 0-for-23 stretch by
Rangers pitchers going back to June 20, 2012. NOTES: Texas was making its second
trip back to its original home city since the franchise left Washington in 1971.

. Kentucky will play No. 1 Florida in Sundays championship game, creating the
attractive matchup of the tournaments two top seeds. Florida beat Tennessee
56-49 in Saturdays first semifinal.KAMLOOPS, B.C. -- B.C. Lions head coach Mike
Benevides wants his players to embrace the role of being Grey Cup hosts. He told
them as much before CFL training camps got going Sunday. "I was pretty honest
about it. You know what? Its additional pressure," said Benevides. "Every team
across the country is saying the same thing -- we want to win a championship. Im
not going to be dishonest and say Well its at home so its no big deal. It is a
big deal." The Lions started a string of three straight host teams winning the
title in their own backyards with their victory at B.C. Place Stadium in 2011
and will be looking to make it a four-peat for host cities this November. "We
want to win it in front of our fans," Benevides continued. "Last time it was
here thats exactly what occurred, and thats what we get paid to do. Distraction,
focus, motivation -- call it whatever you want. Thats the No. 1 goal." The Lions
have not won a playoff game since raising the Grey Cup three years ago, but
running back Andrew Harris said he believes they have the horses to get it down
in 2014. "The expectation for us every year is to be in the Grey Cup. Obviously
theres maybe a little more added pressure, but last time it was here we won and
that was a great year for us," said the Winnipeg native. "Were looking to do the
same and I definitely think looking around and seeing the guys that we have
solid chance to do that." That chance could rest heavily on Travis Lulays
surgically repaired shoulder. The Lions quarterback was injured during last
seasons 11-7 campaign and returned for their playoff loss before going under the
knife. Lulay said Sunday "it remains to be seen" if he will be ready to go when
B.C. opens its regular season on June 28. "Im still in a stage where camps going
to be a continued progression for me, but it has steady upward progression
throughout the off-season," said Lulay. "Im actually really anxious to see how
it recovers on a day-to-day basis coming out here." B.C. traded for veteran
quarterback Kevin Glenn at the CFL draft as an insurance policy, and while
Benevides and Lulay were both adamant the Lions No. 1 quarterback is on
schedule, the head coach added its his job to make sure his star gets back to
100 per cent. "All these guys that are elite athletes, theyre champions and
MVPs," said Benevides. "You have to make sure you help them in understanding the
overall picture. Hes intelligent, he understands it, hes been through this
before but theres no doubt that well have various conversations and discuss it
back and forth." Added Lulay: "Sometimes you think you can be Superman and
overcome some of that stuff.
http://www.soccerwalesshop.com/joe-ledley-wales-jersey/.
Managing expectations is one of the biggest parts of coming off an injury and
thats one of the things Ive learned and you have to learn to deal with that."
The Toronto Argonauts won the Grey Cup as hosts in 2012, while the Saskatchewan
Roughriders took the title on the Prairies in 2013. Both teams loaded up through
trades and free agency in the off-season leading up to the CFLs marquee event,
but the Lions had a quiet winter by comparison. What B.C. does have is a lot of
fresh faces at camp both on the field and the sidelines. A number of veteran
players were either traded, retired or moved on through free agency, while the
club also has new offensive and defensive co-ordinators. Khari Jones has been
brought in to kick-start an offence that was criticized for being too
predictable, while Mark Washington was promoted to run the defence after six
seasons coaching the secondary. "We have a lot of open positions," Benevides
said of the competitions for spots at camp. "Were going to have a young team and
we have to evaluate and find that talent. "Our football team is going to play
fast. Everything we do is fast." Apart from a lot of new blood and fresh
schemes, the Lions who have been around awhile believe theyre also wiser as
hosts because of what they went through in 2011 after starting that season 0-5.
"The biggest thing for us is just coming through adversity and staying on that
one track and definitely building as a team," said Harris. "I think we did that
in 2011 and we have some components this year to make that happen again. Its
being persistent and staying at it. Its a full 18-game season and you never know
how it ends." Benevides was the defensive co-ordinator with that championship
team and will be looking for his first playoff win as a head coach in a season
he hopes will culminate with a victory for the Lions in Vancouver on Nov. 30.
"Its a long, long journey. Its a long, long season," he said. "Its about making
critical plays at critical times and winning that critical game. "Nobody can
tell you how the script is going to be written, but its going to be written and
someones going to stand on the podium." Notes: The Lions had a meeting with
CFLPA representative Paul McCallum before Sundays first practice, a session the
veteran kicker said helped clear the air of any questions players might have
with regards to the threat of a strike. The leagues collective bargaining
agreement expired on Thursday night. ... The Lions first pre-season game is
scheduled for June 13 on the road against the Edmonton Eskimos.
