The 13-year veteran averaged 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 24.4 minutes after coming from Brooklyn as part of the deal that sent Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets.SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau found the perfect way to celebrate their new contract extensions. Thornton scored his second goal of the game with 1:30 remaining in overtime to lead the San Jose Sharks to their sixth straight win, 3-2 over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Marleau also scored as the two longtime Sharks shined one day after signing three-year deals that will keep them in San Jose through the 2016-17 season. "For me and Patty both to score, its a great night for us," Thornton said. Antti Niemi made 20 saves and Joe Pavelski and Matt Irwin had two assists apiece as the Sharks overcame a 2-0 deficit to get their third six-game winning streak of the season. "Theyre our guys, and we need them when were down," Irwin said. "Jumbo got us to within one and Patty tied it up and obviously Jumbo won it in overtime. Theyre our guys. Its just kind of ironic what happened." Matt Cooke and Keith Ballard scored for the Wild, who built an early lead on the opener of a four-game road trip but still lost for the ninth time in their past 10 trips to San Jose. Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves as Minnesota lost for just the fourth time in 12 games this month. "We got a point against a good team in a tough building to play," Ballard said. "For the most part we played a fairly solid game. We werent the best at times. But we hung in there and even after they got those two quick goals, I thought we responded pretty well. We just couldnt find the time to get the third one tonight." Thornton and Pavelski combined on the game-winning play by causing a turnover at the blue line. Pavelski then fed Thornton, who beat Kuemper with a wrist shot from the top of the circle to end it with his ninth career overtime goal and first since Nov. 26, 2008, against Chicago. Pavelski assisted on both of Thorntons goals in a bit of a role reversal after Thornton helped set up many of his 19 goals in the previous 21 games. "Ive been teelling Pav, Youve been scoring too much. http://www.baseballoriolesshop.com/jonathan-schoop-orioles-jersey/. Start passing the puck. And he finally listened," Thornton said. "I dont too often, but Pav just made two good plays and luckily I put them in." The Wild struck first on a nifty play by Cooke midway through the first period. Cooke deflected Thorntons cross-ice pass to Brad Stuart in the neutral zone. Cooke then beat Stuart to the loose puck and skated in on Niemi before beating him with a forehand for his eighth goal. They added onto the lead early in the second when Mikael Granlund fed Ballard for a one-timer that beat Niemi. It was Ballards first goal since Oct. 6, 2011, for Vancouver against Pittsburgh, ending a drought of 114 games without a goal. But that was all the Wild would get as they managed just 12 shots in the final 39-plus minutes. They spent much of the game on the defensive as they won just 18 of 59 faceoffs. "We lost the extra point because of the face-off circle tonight," coach Mike Yeo said. "We spent the entire night chasing and its inevitable that they will put you on your heels and give them some momentum. We never started with the puck. That was the big story." Minnesota dominated the opening half of the second period, limiting San Jose to one shot in the first 11-plus minutes before Thornton and Marleau delivered a day after getting their new contracts. Thornton struck first when Pavelski fed him for a one-timer that he knocked past Kuemper on a knuckler. Just 49 seconds later, Marleau scored his 22nd of the season when Tommy Wingels fanned on the original shot but still managed to get the puck to Marleau, who deflected it past Kuemper to tie the game. NOTES: Thornton has 40 career multigoal games. ... Minnesota F Jason Pominville got his 500th career point with an assist on Ballards goal. ... San Jose juggled its top two lines the second half of the game with Matt Nieto playing with Thornton and Pavelski and Brent Burns moving to a wing with Marleau and Wingels. The Sacramento Kings believe DeMarcus Cousins can avoid his past mistakes and be the foundation of the franchise under new owner Vivek Ranadive. Miguel Cabrera Tigers Jersey . The Kings and Cousins reached an agreement on a contract extension late Wednesday night, a person familiar with the deal said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. The Sacramento Bee reported the extension is a four-year, $62 million deal that will carry Cousins through the 2018-19 season. Cousins was eligible for an extension up to five years and $80 million. The Kings had until Oct. 31 to come to terms on an extension to prevent Cousins from becoming a restricted free agent next summer. Cousins averaged 17.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season. The 23-year-old centre, drafted fifth overall in 2010 after one season at Kentucky, has been one of the NBAs best young big men but also one who has drawn multiple suspensions from the NBA and the Kings for his behaviour. The new regime has insisted Cousins could flourish under new leadership. Ranadive has praised Cousins since he bought the Kings from the Maloof family in May. New coach Mike Malone and general manager Pete DAlessandro each called Cousins an "incredible talent" when they were hired this summer, too. New minority owner Shaquille ONeal said earlier this week he had already initiated conversations with Cousins. The 15-time All-Star said he wants to help Cousins the way Phil Jackson helped ONeal co-exist with others when he came to coach the Los Angeles Lakers. "When I look at a young DeMarcus Cousins, I see a young Shaquille ONeal. Very talented, very stubborn in his ways," ONeal said. Cousins has dazzled at times during his first three seasons and other times struggled with defence and discipline. Just last season, Cousins was reprimanded multiple times for his behaviour. On Dec. 22, Cousins was suspended one game by the Kings for "unprofessional behaviour and conduct detrimental to the team" after an incident involving then-coach Keith Smart in the locker room during a loss at the Los Angeles Clippers. He was suspended one game without pay by the NBA for striking O.J. Mayo in the groin during a defeat at Dallas on Dec. 10. Following a loss at San Antonio on Nov. 9, the league suspended Cousins two games without pay for confronting Spurs announcer Sean Elliott in a "hostile manner." Tom Seaver Mets Jersey . ST. Nolan Arenado Rockies Jersey . LOUIS - Vladimir Sobotka needed just a couple shifts to return to top form Thursday night. Back after missed the previous 12 games because of a left knee injury, Sobotka had a goal and two assists to help the NHL-leading St. Louis Blues beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-2 on Thursday night. "I just kept it simple," Sobotka said after the fifth three-point game of his career. "It was about timing. As the game went along, I got a little faster and a little stronger." St. Louis has won six of seven overall and eight of nine against Edmonton. Alex Pietrangelo started a four-goal third period and Jaden Schwartz added two goals for the Blues, who outscored Edmonton 17-4 in sweeping the three-game season series. Pietrangelo, Schwartz and T.J. Oshie scored in 7:14 span at the outset of the third period to break a 2-2 tie, and Schwartz added his second goal of the period at 12:56. Ryan Miller made 23 saves to improve to 5-0-1 since joining the Blues in a trade with Buffalo on Feb. 28. Hes 7-0 against Edmonton. Sobotka scored late in the first period and then set up the winning goal 42 seconds into the third period. He stole the puck from Andrew Ference in the corner and found Pietrangelo wide open in the slot for a 3-2 lead. "We knew he was going to bring some energy and some bite back into our lineup," Pietrangelo said. "Whether he felt his best or not, it certainly looked like he didnt miss a beat. We kind of needed a little extra jump and he seems to have brought it." Pietrangelo felt he had to capitalize on Sobotkas hard work in the corner "It was a great pass, Id better bury it," Pietrangelo said. Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for St. Louis, and Oshie added two assists. Miller has stopped 134 of 145 shots in six games with St. Louis and has yet to lose in regulation. He has a 1.82 goals-against-average and .924 save percentage with the Blues. David Perron and Mark Fraser scored for Edmonton. Perron spent six seasons in St. Louis and leads the Oilers with 25 goals. Edmonton tied it at 2 late in the second period on Frasers shot from close range. The Blues then took over with a near-perfect third period. "We played with tempo and we played with speed in the neutral zone," St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We were really effective. We put a lot of pressure on people." St. Louis outshot Edmonton 14-11 over the final 20 minutes, peppering goalie Ben Scrivens from start to finish. "They capitalized on their scoring chances," Scrivens said. "But I needed to make more saves than I did." The Oilers appeared to have gained the momentum with Frasers tying goal. "I dont care how good they are, we were able to play with them for two periods," Edmonton coach Dallas Eakins said. "We certainly should be able to do it for another 20 more minutes." Notes: St. Louis D Barret Jackman left the game briefly late in the second period after colliding with Jesse Joensuu. Jackman returned for the third period. ...The Oilers have used six goalies this season. ... Ten of the Blues last 13 games have been decided by one goal. ... In Winnipeg, the Jets kick off their exhibition schedule when they host the Minnesota Wild at MTS Centre. NEWARK, N.J. -- On a day that was marked by movement, there simply wasnt a trade available for Bryan Murray. So the Ottawa Senators general manager was only too happy to use the 17th overall pick on Edmonton Oil Kings centre Curtis Lazar on Sunday. "Obviously the biggest thing Curtis that is, is a competitive person," Murray said Lazar. "Hes been compared to me as a hard-nosed, competitive guy in the National Hockey League. He scores. Hes had a real good career doing that." Lazar recorded 61 points (38 goals and 23 assists) in 72 games with Edmonton last season. Fourteen of his 38 goals came in the final 20 games of the regular season. While the offensive numbers are strong, the organization views him as an all-around forward. "(Hes) the type of player we were looking for," said assistant general manager Tim Murray. "Hes a complete player. Hes gritty and competitive. He can play the game. "I think he has a very good offensive game. I think hes compared to those competitive guys like (Los Angeles Kings captain) Dustin Brown because they are complete players and have an offensive game to them, and they play with an edge. Added Tim Murray: "Hes not being compared to the energy players of the world of the National Hockey League. Hes being compared to guys with energy and grit and determination, but also the guys that score goals. I expect hes going to score 30 goals, for sure, for us. Hes certainly going to score skill goals. Hes going to fit into the mould that were trying to represent." Along with Lazar, the Senators took goaltender Marcus Hogberg, right-winger Tobias Lindberg, defenceman Ben Harpur, centre Vincent DDunn, right-winger Chris LeBlanc and centre Quentin Shore. Custom Colorado Rockies Jersey. . More than being good fits for the Senators, the primary reason that all seven players are headed to Ottawa for prospect development camp is that nothing materialized over the weekend despite a hyper-charged marketplace. "As happens very often, and in particular the first round, if you have a decent position youre very reluctant to give that position up," said Bryan Murray. "I talked to some people that would have had to move a number of picks back to make it work for them. The price was quite substantial. I had a couple offers to move down as the draft was going on. We felt there was a player there that we didnt want to pass on, so we didnt move backwards. Its totally understood its tough to move." One area in which he made headway was with Daniel Alfredsson, as the Senators general manager said he spoke with Alfredssons agent, J.P. Barry over the weekend on a new deal for the Senators captain. "We talked about how we could get a deal done," Murray said. "We talked about term, threw numbers back and forth slightly. Nothing firm. Hes going to go back to Alfie and talk to him again. I will do the same thing on my part. Hopefully well talk in the next couple days." When pressed on the word term, Murray acknowledged the possibility of a multi-year contract for the 40-year old. "Not necessarily one year," Murray said. "I mean he might want to play 10 more years. Hes a guy that just seems to thrive on playing. It doesnt necessarily have to be a one-year deal. It may well end up being that but we may talk a little more." Cheap JerseysWholesale JerseysWholesale JerseysCheap JerseysCheap NFL JerseysCheap Jerseys ChinaWholesale Jerseys ' ' '
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Tony Stewart knocked Brad Keselowski from the pole as qualifying ended Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway. Justin Verlander Pink Jersey . Stewart waited right until the end of the final round to attempt his lap and circled the speedway at 195.454 mph to grab the top starting spot for Sundays race. Its Stewarts 15th career pole and first since Atlanta in 2012. "It was cool. Im not normally a qualifier," Stewart said. Keselowski made his attempt earlier in the session and turned his lap at 195.419. He was out of his car and watching the scoring pylon as Stewart crossed the finish line, and Keselowski dropped his head in disappointment when he saw hed been beaten. "Stewart put down a great lap at the end, didnt see that one coming," Keselowski said. "Thats why they do it this way. Really exciting and a lot of fun to watch, and quite honestly, a lot of fun to participate in this new format of qualifying." Kevin Harvick qualified third as two Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolets were in the top three. The organization is the only one in the Sprint Cup Series with two wins this season -- Harvick won at Phoenix and Kurt Busch won last week at Martinsville -- but the four cars have been all over the map and lacked consistency. "Tony capturing the pole is as good as it gets for the organization," Harvick said. "Thats a huge improvement for where weve been as a company the last few weeks." Busch qualified 11th as three of the four SHR drivers advanced into the third and final round of knockout qualifying. The final session was dominated by Fords as blue oval drivers claimed six of the final 12 spots and were led by Keselowski, who will start on the front row for the fifth time in seven races this season. Ford drivers Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards qualified fourth and fifth for Roush Fenway Racing. Then came Joe Gibbs Racings Denny Hamlin, the only Toyota driver to make it to the top 12. Trevor Bayne was seventh in his first appearance in the final group this season, and he was followed by Ryan Newman, Marcos Ambrose, Joey Logano, Busch and Jeff Gordon. Six-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson failed to advance to the final round for the first time this season. "Were really surprised not to have pace here in qualifying," Johnson said. LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt was familiar with this feeling -- even if it had been a while. Riley Grabau scored 17 points, Larry Nance Jr. had 14 and the Cowboys beat No. 5 San Diego State 68-62 on Tuesday night to end the Aztecs 20-game winning streak. Shyatt was Wyomings coach 16 years ago -- almost to the day -- the last time a top-five team was upset in Arena-Auditorium. That was Feb. 12, 1998, when the Cowboys took down No. 5 Utah 62-56 on the same floor. "Its like a good bottle of wine -- it gets better with age," Shyatt said. The Cowboys (15-9, 6-5 Mountain West Conference) savored another marquee win Tuesday as fans rushed the court after the final buzzer, mobbing Wyoming players. "Their only other loss was to Arizona," Nance said. "I mean, to be in that category is awesome, you know? Fifth-ranked team, the fans storming the court like they did, it was spectacular." The Aztecs (21-2, 10-1) won 20 in row after losing to Arizona in their second game of the season. The streak tied the program mark set by the 2010-11 team, which finished a school-record 34-3 after reaching the Sweet Sixteen for the first time. "This is a tough league and you go on the road and it becomes even tougher. And with the win streak we had, I think everybody knows it and everybody talks about they want to be the team to break it and storm the court," SDSU coach Steve Fisher said. "And to Wyomings credit, they were the ones. They were the ones that did it. Thhey played better and they deserved one. Justin Verlander Grey Jersey. "Theres a lot of season left, so we cant hang our heads." Wyoming built a 16-point lead midway through the second half, catching the Aztecs defence lagging several times. At one point, the Cowboys slammed down four consecutive dunks. San Diego State mounted a furious comeback, closing within four points with 1:04 left and again with 40 seconds to go on two buckets by Winston Shepard, who finished with 10 points. But the Aztecs, who were averaging 73.4 points, failed to score again as Wyoming pulled away with free throws in the final 30 seconds. Nathan Sobey and Charlie Hankerson Jr. each had nine points for Wyoming, which used an efficient offence and a stifling defence to stop San Diego State. The game featured the top two defensive teams in the Mountain West. Entering the game, San Diego State was giving up an average of 56.6 points, while the Cowboys were allowing 60.4. But it was the Aztecs who had the most trouble making baskets, hitting 38 per cent of their field goals and committing 13 turnovers while Wyoming made 58 per cent of its attempts from the floor and had 11 turnovers. The Cowboys took a 32-23 halftime lead, closing out the last 4:20 of the first half with a 10-3 run keyed by two 3-pointers from Grabau. NEW YORK -- Jonathan Quick watched plenty of New York Rangers games on television while growing up in nearby Milford, Conn. Navy blu-bianche Adidas ZX 750 Uomo Donna GS Scarpe ., but it was always a tough ticket to get into Madison Square Garden. Just once before he got on the ice at the age of 12 for an intermission pee-wee shootout, and then Monday night at the age of 28 the Los Angeles Kings goaltender made a much more memorable appearance. Quick shut out the Rangers 3-0 to put his team up three games to none in the Stanley Cup final and one victory away from a second title in three years. "You make one save and then you try to make the next," Quick said with little excitement in his voice after arguably his best performance in these playoffs. "We had a lot of guys that block shots, clear rebounds. Our (penalty kill) was very good tonight, possibly the difference in the game. You just make one save at a time and try to get ready for the next one." Of Quicks 32 saves, two of them stuck out. In the first period he got his stick on a shot by Mats Zuccarello that went off the post and was bound to deflect in, and in the second he extended his paddle to get a piece of Derick Brassards offering that couldve been just what the Rangers needed to get back into the game and perhaps the series. Quick couldnt remember what happened on either one. It was hard for anyone else to forget. "Hes one goalie that can save those kind of things," Kings defenceman Drew Doughty said. "Not to say that we expect those saves from him, but were so used to seeing them because they happen so often that its just normal business." After watching Quick win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP during Los Angeless 2012 Cup run, Dustin Brown isnt even in awe anymore. The Kings captain used to look up at the video board to figure out just how the puck stayed out of the net, but now he doesnt even bother. "The best example is playing at the Olympics and seeing other guys react to it and Im just sitting there because Ive played with him long enough and hes made enough of those saves you kind of expect him to do it," Brown said. "Its not shocking by any means. Hes been doing this all playoffs." Quick hadnt been doing quite this in these playoffs. Monday night was just his second shutout in 24 games this post-season, but it was the ninth of his NHL career. His stats during this run -- a 2.80 goals-against average and .906 save percentage going into Monday -- were hardly dazzling, but teammates were eager to give him credit for what had transpired before his masterful Game 3 showing. "All I know is everyones talking about Quickie and hes a big, big part of the reason were here because he is a goaltender that makes big saves at big times," Brown said. Quick did need some help and got it with goals from Jeff Carter, Jake Muzzin and Mike Richards. Carters goal with 0.7 seconds left in the first period stunned the sellout crowd of 18,000-plus in the first Cup final game at the Garden in 20 years. Carters seemingly innocent flick of a shot deflected off the skate of diving Rangers defenceman Dan Girardi before going in off Henrik Lundqvists glove. "I was reacting low and it went high," Lundqvist said. "Its just one of those plays where, with a little luck there that puck ends up in the netting or the glass. Unfortunately, half a second left and it ended up in our net. It was a tough play." That goal marked the first lead for the Kings since Game 6 of the Western Conference final against the Chicago Blackhawks. Los Angeles came back from two-goal deficits to win Games 1 and 2 at Staples Center. "It was a little bit easier scoring first, obviously," centre Anze Kopitar said. "Scoring at 0.7 left the first takes a little bit of wind out of their sails and energizes us." A rash of high-sticking penalties by the Rangers early in the second period didnt help, and Marc Staals led to Muzzins power-play goal. With Martin St. Louis trying to get his body in front of Muzzins shot from the point, the puck instead went off the Rangers winger and past Lundqvist 4:17 into the second period. Fans tried to generate some noise off the face-off, and the Rangers followed with plenty of chances to get back into the game. The power-play unit that entered the night 1-for-8 in the series managed some sustained pressure but came up empty thanks to Quicks brilliance. New York finished 0-for-6 on the power play in Game 3. Asked what went wrong in general, coach Alain Vigneault answered only: "We couldnt score." When Lundqvist was asked what happened, the usually charming media darling fired back: "Better question." What happened in the second period was the Rangers fell behind 3-0 as Richards got a two-on-one with Trevor Lewis, banked his initial shot off Ryan McDonagh and buried his second to put the Kings in cruise control. Despite 15 multi-goal comebacks already in these playoffs, an NHL record, a three-goal deficit looked daunting even as the Rangers out-shot the Kings 32-15 overall because Quick appeared unbeatable. Ultimately, he was. "He was obviously the best player on the ice tonight," Vigneault said of Quick. "Give them credit. They found a way to put the puck past our real good goaltender and we couldnt do it." Marian Gaborik, playing his first game back at the Garden since the Rangers traded him to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2013 deadline, called Quick the Kings "cornerstone" Monday night. Doughty termed him their "backbone" all the time. Monday night was a reminder of that to anyone who forgot how good Quick can be at his best. "I dont think he has to remind us too many times," Kopitar said. "We know what hes capable of. Thats why we love having him back there." Twice in Game 3 he made saves that earn him that kind of love and admiration and a place on highlight reels. At the 12:37 mark of the first, Zuccarello had a no-doubt goal from just in front, but his shot hit the post and then Quicks before going wide. "It was an empty-net goal, and he got a piece of it," Brown said. "That allowed us to get our legs going and not fall behind early." Quicks most spectacular of the night came 10:22 into the second on Brassards offering from the side of the net. A cross ice pass forced Quick to go full extension, and with his paddle almost parallel to the ice he kept it out. "It looked from the bench like the guy just missed it, but you look at the replay and he gets a piece of it," Brown said. "He has a different style than all the other goalies in the league. Hes just quick and he gets post-to-post faster than any goalie in the whole entire league." Now one victory away from a second championship in three years, Quick isnt a strong Conn Smythe candidate this time around. But in dominating against the Rangers on Monday night, he put the Kings on the verge of recapturing the trophy they really care about. "Hes still been very sharp for us and hes been a huge key for our success without a doubt," Doughty said. "Maybe he didnt have to stand on his head like he did in 2012 but tonight I thought he stood on his head." NOTES -- Neither team made any lineup changes from Game 2, which meant that Kings defenceman Robyn Regehr missed his 16th straight game with injury. A handful of celebrities were featured on the arenas video screens, including New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire, late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon and actors Bryan Cranston and Robert De Niro. That dampened the enthusiasm of a crowd that included more than a few people who paid a premium to attend. Tickets on the secondary market were going for over US$1,000. As their realistic chances of making it a series hung in the balance, the Rangers didnt put together a season-saving performance. After falling behind, New York picked up two straight high-sticking penalties that could have been worse had defenceman Marc Staal not gotten away with an extra one on Kings captain Dustin Brown. Staals offensive-zone high-sticking penalty that did get called led to the Kings second goal of the night. The 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winners best save of Game 3 came just after a New York power play expired, when he got his stick on what should have been a gimme goal for Derick Brassard at the side of the net. While Quick made saves look easy, Lundqvist got a break. The Kings didnt manage a shot on net for more than nine minutes in the second period. When they got back on track, it didnt take long to suck the rest of the air out of the Garden. With Trevor Lewis accompanying him on a two-on-one rush, Richards took an initial shot that hit Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh, and the Kings forward buried the second offering to make it 3-0 at 17:14. A record 15 multi-goal comebacks have meant no lead is safe in these playoffs. But Quicks stellar play ensured this would not be the 16th. The back of the glove is all red, with the words, "Never forget," circled around the date, Sept. 11, 2001. The palm of the glove is blue, with white stars. "I never forget," Charles tweeted. UNIONDALE, N. Willie McCovey Cream Jersey .Y. -- The New York Islanders made a big splash on the second day of free agency, signing centre Mikhail Grabovski and former Toronto Maple Leafs teammate Nikolai Kulemin. Grabovski received a US$20-million, four-year contract, while Kulemin got $16.75 million over four years. Grabovkski, who most recently played for the Washington Capitals after being bought out by the Leafs, could slot in as New Yorks second-line centre behind John Tavares. Kulemin leaves the Leafs after recording 84 goals and 111 assists in 424 games over six seasons. Grabovski and Kulemin, friends who share the same agent in Gary Greenstin, were interested in signing as a package deal. Matt Duffy Jersey . With Peyton Manning mulling retirement, Brock Osweiler might be in that same situation in Denver.Or he might be holding a clipboard again next fall.As GM John Elway looks for a new head coach after parting ways with John Fox, he said he knows the candidates will want to know Mannings intentions. But hes asked his quarterback not to make a rash decision and to take a month or so to clear his head.So the contenders Elway is interviewing this weekend — Vance Joseph on Friday and Gary Kubiak on Sunday — wont know if theyd be taking over an offence run by the five-time MVP or a QB whose next NFL start will be his first. There is no question the candidates are going to want to know where Peyton is in his return-or-retire determination, Elway said. Im going to say the same thing Im telling you all right now: We dont know exactly what hes going to do. Well just to have to wait and see and well go from there.Thats the same slant Osweiler is taking.I will approach this off-season the same exact way whether he comes back or doesnt come back, Osweiler said. And regardless of that situation, I truly believe if you work hard, you prepare hard, you dont need to get ready for anything new. Ive worked hard, Ive prepared every single week like Im the starter. So moving forward, none of that will change.Elway likes what he hears from — and sees in — Osweiler, the 6-foot-8 passer he selected in the second round of the 2012 draft out of Arizona State.Brock has made that progress that you would hope he would make, Elway said. Whats difficult is he hasnt gotten a lot of playing time. When that time comes, well see where he is. (But) the training that hes gotten up to this point is second to none.If Manning retires, that would free up $19 millionn over each of the next two seasons and allow the Broncos to really see what they have in Osweiler, who was mostly a backup in college, too. Orlando Cepeda Jersey. Marrone had been viewed as someone who would bring the toughness and discipline Elway covets after Denvers lacklustre effort Sunday in a 24-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Also withdrawing his name from consideration was Lions defensive co-ordinator Teryl Austin. These developments point to the possibility that Kubiak, the Ravens offensive co-ordinator, is considered the favourite for the job given his ties to Elway and Denver.Kubiak was Elways backup QB from 1983-91 and was Denvers offensive co-ordinator from 1995-2005 under Mike Shanahan. He left in 2006 to coach the Houston Texans, a gig that lasted until 2013, when he had a health scare. Kubiak was fired with three games left in that season and joined the Ravens as their offensive co-ordinator last year.In Baltimore, Kubiak installed the zone-blocking system he learned in Denver and the Ravens improved from 30th in the league in rushing in 2013 to eighth last season. He said last week that he had no interest in another head coaching job, but that was before the Broncos and Fox parted ways Monday.Elway began his search by interviewing in-house candidate Adam Gase, the Broncos offensive co-ordinator, on Thursday after Gase lost out to Jim Tomsula for the 49ers vacancy. Manning has strongly endorsed Gase as a head coaching candidate.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap JerseysWholesale JerseysWholesale JerseysCheap JerseysCheap NFL JerseysCheap Jerseys ChinaWholesale Jerseys ' ' '
BUFFALO, N. Kevin Loves 3-point attempt with 1.9 seconds left bounced off the back rim, sending Minnesota to its first loss of the season in a 93-92 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. "Heck yeah, well take that shot every time," said guard Kevin Martin, who led the Timberwolves with 23 points. "The best power forward in the league with a great look to win the game." Loves 29.7 average going into the game led the league in scoring. Even though he struggled from the field, hitting 8 of 20 shots and scoring 17 points, he was confident his late shot would go down and his team would come all the way back from a 23-point deficit in the third quarter. "More often than not, I believe Im going to make that shot," Love said. "J.J. (Barea) made a good pass and I was in good rhythm, but I just hit the back rim." Even the Cavaliers realized they were fortunate. "Luckily, K-Love missed a shot and we got the stop," said Kyrie Irving, who had 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but committed a career-high nine turnovers and missed two shots down the stretch that would have helped Cleveland extend its lead. The Timberwolves got the lead into single digits several times in the fourth quarter, but still trailed 93-84 with 2:43 remaining. The Cavaliers didnt score again and Minnesota had its opportunity after Irving missed with 15 seconds left. "We finally decided to play some defence in the fourth quarter and gave ourselves a chance to win," said Love, who was named the Western Conference player of the week. "I just didnt convert." Bynum, who missed all of last season with injuries to both knees, said before the game hes not sure if he will regain the explosiveness he had earlier in his career. Minnesota trailed 76-61 going into the fourth quarter and cut the margin to nine points early in the period. KAMLOOPS, B. Nike Air Max 2015 Uomo [nere/argento] Feather Scarpe .C. - Damage to a fish habitat should cost the millionaire owner of two hockey teams and his company $300,000, a Crown lawyer has told a sentencing hearing.Digby Kier said Tom Gaglardi had no regard for a fish habitat when he renovated his vacation home on Kamloops Lake in 2010.Gaglardi, who owns the NHLs Dallas Stars and the WHLs Kamloops Blazers, and Northland Properties were each convicted in August of two counts of harmful alteration of a fish habitat a€” 2,400 square metres of shoreline area. The work involved a five-bedroom, two-bathroom addition to an existing bungalow known as Toms Shack and included extensive landscaping work, a 50-vehicle parking lot and the construction of a boat launch. Both defendants were well aware they were trying to keep a low profile and, if they got caught, they were going to seek forgiveness, Kier said Friday.Thats what you have today a€” them seeking forgiveness, he told provincial court Judge Stephen Harrison.Show this corporation and Tom Gaglardi that they cannot ride roughshod over the laws of Canada and escape without anything being done to them.Kier said Kamloops Lake is a significant stop for juvenile salmon on their way from the Interior to the Pacific Ocean. Its the last lake on the Thompson River system before flowing into the fast-moving Fraser River, he noted, and is an important feeding stop for young salmon.Kier said neither Gaglardi nor Northland obtained a building permit for any of the renovation work, adding it will take 40 to 50 years for the fish habitat to return to its healthy state. Defence lawyer Rob Bruneau said a $300,000 fine is excessive given previous sentences for similar offences and asked for a fine of $50,000 to $75,000.Mr. Gaglardi should not be penalized for his financial set in life, Bruneau said.Just because were dealing with an extremely wealthy family doesnt mean we should raise the fine.Bruneau said Gaglardis embarrassment by the trial should be a factor in sentencing.Certainly, in the court of public opinion, he will continue to suffer because of these circumstances.A $300,000 fine was the maximum allowed under the Federal Fisheries Act when the offences took place. It is now $1 million.During his trial, Gaglardi attempted to pin the blame for the work on ex-Northland employee Jim Parks. However, Parks testified he was just following orders, which ultimately came from Gaglardi.Parks said he was ordered to throw his computer hard drive in the lake once federal authorities began investigating the renovation work.He testified he was also asked to remove Northlands logo from the site blueprint.Kier described the work, and the attempted coverup, as the blatant, blatant, blatant actions of a privileged family.Really, it strikes to the very heart of what society expects of corporate citizens and private citizens who have done so well. This was a very massive, massive endeavour by the corporation and Tom Gaglardi to make this thing a showpiece on the lake, Kier said.Theyre going to have 50 parking spots and sweeping views of the area a€” and nothing for the fish. The fish were compromised and they still are.During the trial, Gaglardi often appeared unfazed by the proceedings and was seen jotting down Dallas Stars line combinations in a notebook and attempting to hide the use of his iPhone from court sheriffs. The Crown also asked for an order that would have the fine go toward protecting salmon in the Interior.Court heard Gaglardi has spent $80,000 on remediation since 2010.The judge reserved his decision, and lawyers will be back in court on Oct. 23 to set a date for sentencing. The Hamilton players, wearing shoulder pads and helmets, were not going at full speed but still managed to make like a thundering herd.Amidst the blunt instruments, Banks cut through like a scalpel. An elegant runner, he can change gears in an instant — like a car with a nitrous oxide system.I just feel any time I touch the ball, I have the possibility of going the distance, he said.He did that twice on electric punt returns last weekend — three times if you count a 78-yard runback for a score that was called back due to a penalty — in Hamiltons 40-24 Eastern final win over the Montreal Alouettes.Banks had five punt returns for a playoff-record 226 yards. His two TD returns — which covered 93 and 88 yards — also tied a playoff mark. The North Carolina native had three carries for 35 yards and four catches for 33 yards to finish with 294 total yards. His second TD return was a marvel as he left Als players twisting in the wind.It was almost like Casper the Ghost because it looks like we were just grasping for air and he wasnt there, said Montreal coach Tom Higgins.Brandon Banks is absolutely a special player. With kickers penalized for punting the ball out of bounds other than within the 20-yard line, it is hard to escape Banks. Is his size an advantage, he was asked? It has its pros and cons, he said. Because when I get hit, it dont feel good. But it does have a little bit of advantage. Ive got a little bit of wiggle with me to get away from bigger guys. One opponent he relishes seeing in his sights is the kicker — usually the last man to beat, a pylon in opposition colours.Thats the best thing. Thats like Christmas morning for me, he said with a laugh.Banks, 26, spent three years as a returner for the Washington Redskins but came north last year after the NFL team did not tender the restricted free agent an offer.I dont think I got a fair shake, he said of his time in the NFL. I dont think I got an opportunity to show my wide receiver skills.NFL rule changes also reduced the role of a returner on kickoffs. But everything happens for a reason, said Banks, who is due to become a free agent after Sundays championship game. Im glad to be here.It has all added to the size of the chip on Banks shoulder. He has been doubted at every level of football.Hamilton coach Kent Austin says he continues to be surprised by what Banks can do on the field.Hes really, really competitive, and he plays with a lot of confidence, you know. But some of the things that he does on the field, yeah, obviously you cant coach. Were just lucky to have a guy with that kind of talent. Now, that being said, I dont think hes going to surprise Calgary. I mean, theyre really good on defensive special teams. They cover well. And weve got a big challenge in front of us to continue to hold blocks and give Brandon a chance. But hes just a really talented young man thats always had to overcome the Im not big enough talk, and too small to play, not strong enough, all of those things, yet he continues to break tackles, make plays, and gets the ball in the end zone.Edmontons Tony Tompkins was the last man to return a kickoff for a TD in the Grey Cup, rambling 96 yards in the Eskimos 38-35 win over Montreal in the 2005 championship game in Vancouver. Its a different approach for Hockey Canada this year, with 25 players invited to the World Junior Selection Camp and 22 making the team. With the roster virtually set, TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button was on TSN Radio 1050 and Off The Record on Tuesday to dissect the strengths and weakness of the team. "Depth and wealth of winning experience, not just internationally but within their own leagues," Button said of this years teams strengths. "You have players who have won Memorial Cups, participated in Memorials Cups, as well as winning gold medals at the international level. When you go into this type of tournament, you need players who will not capsize when you get into the rough patches. They have too many players who have been through it and succeeded." Asked how much can we expect from youngster Conner McDavid and how he will look away from his OHL club, the Erie Otters, and play with the elite players, Button said he wouldnt underestimate the 16-year-old. "Last April at the Under-18 tournament, he was two years younger than everybody else and was probably two times better than everybody there," said Button. "He was the best player by far. You are talking about a young man who is 16-years-old that understands a couple of things that go beyond the obvious skill. He understands the situations he is in and understands how to play them, given his capabilities and understanding that he is a little bit younger and that this is an elite level of hockey. "Connor McDavid can play defence, he can play two-ways, he can score, and he can set up plays. I dont want to start saying expect the earth, the moon, and the stars from him, but I can tell you this; Connor McDavid is more than capable at this level and is playing very well." McDavid is considered an OHL phenom, who was drafted first overall in the 2012 OHL entry draft and scored 66 points for the Otters in 63 games during his rookie season. The Richmond Hill, ON, native already has 45 points in 27 games with the Otters this season. Notable players who were not named to the selection camp include Max Domi, who was selected 112th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, and Darnell Nurse, selected seventh overall by the Edmonton Oilers in this years draft. Ted Williams Authentic Jersey. Button pointed out that neither are the first to not get invited to a team or make the team as 18-year-olds, and that its not the end of the world for them. "I am still high on (Domi) and if there were 38 players invited, we would not be having this discussion. The next discussion would be; can he make the team?" said Button. "Head coach Brent Sutter really understands what he wants and who he feels fits his team. When they hired Sutter, everybody knew the deal. I dont want to suggest he is black and white because that is not the right way to put it, but he is very clear about where he wants players to play, how he wants them to play, and the types of players that fit. "There are a lot of really good players who did not get invited and when you have only 25 players invited that is what is going to happen," continued Button. "For Sutter, Canada has not won a gold medal in a number of years, so with a lack of success, so to speak, some changes come and certainly Sutter has instituted that." On the teams weakness, Button said there are few. He said the defence needs to learn how to play as a group and as pairs. "You have to defend on the big ice and you have to be able to transition quickly on the big ice. Sutter is perfectly suited to doing that. He has always had success with a group of defenceman and they are going to be key to this teams success." Sutter will need to release two forwards and one defenceman from the selection camp roster before the tournament begins.
